The Gu Qin in the History of Chinese Music

A Lecture-Recital on the Gu Qin and its significance in the history of Chinese music, given by Chi-Sun Chan and Shin-Yi Yang. Dr. Chi-Sun Chan is an expert on the history of Chinese music and the conductor of the Greater Boston Chinese Cultural Association Chinese Music Ensemble. Shin-Yi Yang is a musician and specialist on the guqin, the seven-string Chinese instrument that belongs to the zither family. This instrument is traditionally associated with the literati, the educated classes, and looks back on a history of several thousand years.
