For 5 years, unknown to me, my ex brutalized my little boy. As a grown man that boy is is still walking with trauma. I'm fact my family is always dealing with that trauma on one level or another. That ex died several years ago never having said a word of regret. I have cried myself to sleep for years over this pain. Abuse steals lives on many levels, in many ways, for many generations. Forgiveness? I go back and forth. I ask Yahweh to help me. It's all I can do. Do I hate him? Not any more.
Best guitar player in the world. Hes incredible.

Agreed!..Dave's Style, Tone, Chord Voicing (Feel) is flat-out amazing! (Hot minute yo)
not even close ..he´s very good but that´s all
You are never required to forgive your abuser. Even if they apologize and are remorseful. And even if you forgive them you don't have to have them back in your life. Your feelings your trauma your choice.
Dave is so strong. Bless him.
When you watch this and you see Dave pounding his fists and hear the pain in his voice, you just know he still hasn't got closure 😢
Is Vic Henley Ok? He looks like he's about to break down crying. Was it Dave's story, maybe Smalls smoked with him or did he just get really bad news via text message. Vic is rarely that quite and he looks really sad. I love Vic, he is so awesome on the show I hope everything is going Ok with him.
Vic Henley is the man!
It's not his job to forgive, that's God job.
he looks like iron man with a batman backstory
Missed the interview - what's the name of the film or documentary this is in?
Thanks,Bishop

Why did his mother date this terrible man to begin with? Didn't she see he was violent long before he killed her? Why didn't she get a restraining order?
You can obtain these answers from watching the film. He was a con man who was charming until his mother saw through him and broke it off. He then terrorized Dave and his mother. She did have a restraining order. The movie is so instructional to understand the trajectory of domestic violence and the dangers around a breakup. I am thankful that Dave shed light on this issue with his film.
@@kathrynkirchoff-torres293 The police would not arrest him for violating the restraining order? I am glad David Navarro shared his story for the rest of society too. At least something good can come from the tragedy that occurred in his life. I do feel bad for Dave, he is a good person.
@@kathrynkirchoff-torres293 Sounds like bullshit to me, most "con man" are only able to con naive people, to the rest of us they give off the slimy used car salesman vibe that instantly is off putting and our instinct tells us to stay away. My guess is he had money and she was willing to overlook him being a POS to continue living her cushy livestyle.
