After being a lifelong Visual Studio Code user, I decided to make the switch to WebStorm a year ago - and it's been an eye-opening experience! In this video, I share my honest thoughts on transitioning from VSCode to the WebStorm IDE from JetBrains.

I discuss the pros and cons I've encountered, including WebStorm's snappy performance, clean interface, intelligent code assistance, and rich coding features. However, I also cover some of the frustrations like the wonky formatting, lack of window snapping, confusing plugin installation process, and inefficient toolbar.
While WebStorm has been a breath of fresh air in many ways, there are still aspects of VSCode that I miss. Join me as I navigate this coding journey and determine if WebStorm will truly become my new code editor home after 9 years with VSCode. Get ready for some brutally honest takes!

This channel is gonna rise and rise and rise... Just be consistent
thankyou brother, I will be consistent moving forward ❤️
@@devpanda_js respectfully, the editing could be more consistent aswell
@@notanenglishperson9865 I was learning fcpx and this is the first video I edited.
Previously using premiere and Adobe suite can check consistency there brother.
Noted for now
@@devpanda_js checked your other videos. Great stuff, why did you switch?
@@notanenglishperson9865 Adobe is too expensive my friend. I make like 60k inr which is 720 usd per month, Simply I cannot afford. In college I used to get Adobe from my college arts club. Now it's really expensive and Final Cut is like 50% of my months salary but for lifetime. It seemed a better deal.
I used to thought WebStrom is free 😅
I used to get it free for education. Now I work at a VC funded company, they pay for webstrom.
In VS Code, you could go to definition side by side (Ctrl + Alt + Left Click in VS Code). How do you do it in WebStorm?
Ctrl + Click (or Cmd + Click on a Mac). This will open the definition of the selected item in a new tab or window, allowing you to compare the two sides side by side. Or else simply drag and drob them in side when magnet snapping icon will appear
What Alt is for? It's just Ctrl + click
I am a 4th year computer engineering student, i see everyone is talking about DSA , i dont have any intrest in DSA but i am more interested in Development Part ,
I tried hard bought different course s on Udemy referred UA-cam but was unable to learn DSA, some of my friends are good at DSA and have solved problems on platform like Lettcode . I feel very depressing i am not able to do so.
As i recently ended my 3rd year and have started 4th year of engineering,I am confused how to get job can you suggest me what should I do right from basics like what should I learn...
Try focusing on frontend, learn a framework like React or Angular. Boost your resume by contributing to some opensource projects or work on hobby projects. You would still need some basic DSA, but these are more than enough to get a job as a frontend dev.
Hey it's pretty simple.
Cs is all about problem solving,
Step 1 learn a good language,
Then build projects you see around,
One good project is more than 100 courses and tutorials,
Good project is the one which you can explain end to end.
DSA is like JEE or SAT, not very useful in real-world , but teaches you patience, so try to solve a easy leetcode problem a day. By year end you will have a job trust me.
Thanks!! ❤
As a real dev I looked for webstorm in the pirate bays I couldn't find one 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
😂 I get it, But If check deeply, everything is opensource. I work for a yc backed company, they have funding they pay for my webstrom subscription
Commenting for the algorithm ♥️
Guess it worked
@@SuryaV20 yes indeed ❤
Just use vim, nano or micro!
I love vim but in modern workflows and collaboration it's pretty old-school
WTH is Webstrom? Never heard of it.
It's a IDE ( integrated development environment ) from the people who developed Android Studio. But this is one designed and optimised for wen development
It is a JetBrains IDE specifically designed for web development
@@notanenglishperson9865 what are you talking, webstrom is specifically for wen development
@@devpanda_js sorry, autocorrect. I meant to say "designed" instead of "doesn't"
@@notanenglishperson9865 okay 😅😂
My man. Stop using these memes and sound effects every second. It's unwatchable, we already have enough of this fast-paced content shit going around
Okay
@@devpanda_js Naah, do what you love, fuck these assholes who don't know what they're talking about
Why criticism bro, go go and make something meaningful. Don't just spread hate 😂
@@surajkumar-gx6gf I am making something useful called money already being a remote software engineer. It's constructive criticism. Not spreading hate. Read your comment twice and you may know what hate spreading could look like
U mean fireship
