      I am too. For the second year it's chicken breast braised in sage gravy in my slow cooker. Cornbread dressing and homemade cranberry-orange sauce are the sides.

    My first time cooking Turkey for Christmas (we don't do Thanksgiving in the UK), I decided to bone and roll a turkey leg, seeing as it was only for two people. The leg, when it arrived at the butcher's was nine lb. Even after boning, it was 8.5lb. It was absolutely immense.

      For some recipes ATK prefers to cook by temp instead of time especially with large cuts of meat that could vary a lot. I checked the site and the full recipe says whenever it hits 160 degrees, which they said is about another 15 to 30 minutes longer.

      @@Fishbone8891I used to love Penzeys until I saw the rant that CEO Bill Penzey posted. It's still there on the site at link "About Republicans". That's a little too "woke" for my taste. He took it an extreme that even other woke companies haven't. Seems sort of foolish but it's his company. Just good to know where he stands.

    • @sunspot42
      @sunspot42 11 місяців тому

      A lot of turkey these days is already heavily brined. The flesh can be very salty before you even add more salt, and the gravy it produces can also be too salty. I try to avoid brined turkey.

    • @jong2359
      @jong2359 11 місяців тому

      It is a turkey. Billions of people cook with their rings on every day, i doubt it would continue if there was a severe problem.

    • @9gagHasMySoul
      @9gagHasMySoul 11 місяців тому +2

      @jong2359 my bad it's a turkey. As for the second point, this is a person who works in a professional kitchen, who is supposed to lead by example.
      The ring has a lot of nooks and crannies for raw meat to get into that are hard to clean and it's disgusting to think about. Jewellery in kitchens is frowned upon at best, but its generally banned and there's a good reason for that.
      (And that's without touching on her nail polish, which is another hazard)
