Great tip on the door connection. My Ms. Pac Man kept turning off and I couldn’t figure it out. It wasn’t even from a recent move. It just became less flush over time. Thanks again! Do you have any videos on converting my game to a multi-play cabinet game?
Is it safe to have loose papers sitting inside the cabinet with high voltage? What if the paper catches fire by touching something with electricity running through it?
All of my games have the manuals inside of them. I’ve done this for over 30 years with no problem. I normally put them near the coin mechanisms, not on wires or power supplies.
Very informative, i have a 1980 centipede.. turned it off last night.. when i powered up this morning everything was normal but there was no sound when you explode.. any tips
Check all your audio connection harnesses. With those older games it’s good to unseat all the harnesses and clean them periodically. With age they can tarnish and get loose causing glitching
@@evolvewithinyou No, they are specific to the lock. You can replace the lock. They are easy to find online or even at Home Depot or Lowe’s. Just make sure the match the length of the assembly
Hi, We have an "Attack Pirate" arcade machine. When you turn it on it does a brief blip and then stops. During the brief blip the fan on the transformer starts to spin but then also stops. Fuse is good and power is on at some of the components as evidenced by lights showing on some of the circuitry. What might be stopping it from continuing to power up? Thanks

I have a 2004 fast and furious that is linked up to another one. I turn it on and only the right in starts. And the left one I have to manually push the computer on on the inside and then plug in a keyboard and press f1 all immediately to get them to link at the same time. Any tips??
Hey I have a 1980 Nichibutsu Cocktail Table Arcade. When I plug to power it just makes a constant "tone" noise and the screen is a constant faint blue color.... Any ideas??? Would really appreciate any tips.
Hi liked your video my question, i got a tabletop pacman after playing it for a while it will go back to the grid pattern then turn off, what do you think the problem could be?
Might be a bad connection. I have a slot machine that was doing that, was a bad connection. I would turn the game off and unplug it, then gently remove all the harnesses and reattach them firmly. A lot of times with older games those connections get loose and dirty. Just removing/reattaching them will solve the problem.
Hi. Good channel finally helping the DIYers. I have a Donkey Kong that works fine for about 15-30 mins then the left, maybe 1/4 side of the screen gets distorted. Squiggly lines but rest of screen is fine & pic intact. I’ve attempted to adjust picture adjustments to no avail. Any help would be appreciated. I’m thinking now from your videos it may need a cap kit.
Normally bad caps will cause the picture to dissolve or fade away. It sounds like it could be the vertical chip causing vertical collapse. There is a vertical chip that on the board that may need to be replaced.
My arcade game comes on and starts to boot and I can see the game for a minute and then I get a message that says No AVG and the screen goes black. Any idea?????
On an original arcade with a CRT screen that would be the capacitors, but on the new home games those are LCD screens I believe. Might be an issue with the video connection. Check the harness connection to make sure it’s tight and no breaks.

Should just need to adjust the horizontal position. Should be a knob on the back of the tube if you have a vintage crt screen. Be careful though, since the monitor harnesses dangerously high voltage.
Might need to install a cap kit and replace the capacitors. Here’s a link to a video I did showing how to do that ua-cam.com/video/ijHp4XuTwgk/v-deo.html
On some games there is a red chip that controls the red, but I don’t think the Ms Pac Man game had that. The monitor may need to be rejuvenated or replace the capacitors.
Remove your hopper and detach the connecting harness, then reattach the harness and set the hopper in place. Your connection might be bad. Sometimes those harness connections get loose and make it glitch.
Thanks for using a tripod. So many otherwise would-be-great channels ruin themselves with nauseating handheld shots. I had to sort through a half dozen channels to find yours.
I have a terminator 2 it was in storage for a yr it starts to power up the music comes on but the monitor only has a white line going across the screen nothing else what could it be

Have you thought about making a gaming UA-cam channel? You do a very good job with explaining things.
Thanks. This channel has a few topical sub channels, The Phillips Gameroom is the one on Phillips Vision.
