- In a nation beset by conflict and turmoil, basketball has emerged as a beacon of hope in South Sudan. Despite enduring civil war and political unrest since its inception in 2011, a group of young basketball players, many refugees, have risen above adversity to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics. The South Sudan Basketball Federation aimed to foster unity and opportunities for the youth. Key to their success was mentorship from former NBA player Luol Deng, who provided training, equipment, and international exposure. The Bright Stars, as they are known, competed fiercely in the FIBA Championship, securing their Olympic spot at the FIBA World Cup 2023 in Manila. They favored quicker return to sport through customized physical therapy interventions, combining manual medicine, human movement science, and advanced technologies. Their inspiring journey symbolizes resilience and hope, uniting a nation and inspiring the next generation, proving that dreams can be realized amidst the darkest times.

South Sudan your playing against though Warriors from the Caribbean. We🇵🇷 got so much Basketball history. We got 11 appearance at the Olympics. with 4 places, six places at the Olympics. We got Gold medals at FIBA tournament. In the World Cup, South Sudan lost to a Basketball elite countries. Our couching staff being in this world Tournament for long time.

@@dauatem3001 I don't understand why the two underdog have to face each other in the first game. Then Vs USA and Serbia. South Sudan First Olympic and Puerto Rico first time after 20 years of failing to make it. If we both take down Serbia, both teams got a chance.
