I just imagine Mido being this immovable force that not even the likes of Ganondorf is unable to get past, because to Mido, the 8 foot tall terrifying man with magical powers and immense strength is not a real man unless he has *both* a sword and shield.
It's not like he can Z-target and backflip over him either-- he doesn't have a fairy!
If Nintendo ends up making a Zelda movie, they better hire you.

Ganondorf says he wants to liberate his people from the desert, but here's the thing: he's a liar. Even when he obtained the Triforce he still left them in the desert.
He became consumed by greed and the power that his Triforce piece gave him.
No he wasn't lieing the tree told him to tell him his desire and he did.
After he got the triforce demise's curse and will took over which he knew would happen that's why when he was cursing the deku tree he was just sad.
It's his fate to always suffer along with Link and Zelda.
Not really, Ganondorf was corrupted by power and the influence of Demise's curse as such he essentially went insane after getting the triforce of power and also part of his desire to rule Hyrule most likely would have involved making the other races suffer like he did.
@@chadpeterson5698 I mean yeah first he would have wanted them to suffer like his people did and then eventually he would have slowly given them things until he was crowned emporer that was Ganondorf's only desire to balance the scales but the curse inevitably got to him, honestly Ganondorf is kinda a tragic villain.

I can’t believe this is a fan-made yotube series. It has better quality than most netflix specials. Phenomenal.
Ganondorf's dialogues perfectly captured how a suffering person consumed by hate turns into something terribly evil. But the Deku Tree's actions make me think that he believed there still might be the chance to break the cycle. This is why he let him go.
Please continue to impress us with the next episode. And don't forget what Alfred Hitchcock said: "Always make the audience suffer as much as possible."

As soon as I saw that lone "guard" limping towards the gate I knew something was up. What an ending.
I didn't see the Poe army coming despite the fact that a single "soldier" just limping towards the drawbridge SHOULD have been suspicious.

Skull kid is a trickster. He’d lead Ganondorf into the lost woods if it were him being threatened. He must have one of the fairies. Of course he would have a way of capturing fairies after being defeated by a forest child. Fingers crossed he has Navi and Link gets to rescue her

The opening scene was absolutely both heart warming and heart wrenching… I wish we could see more of Link and Malon’s relationship in this time line.

I don't think so. I think by ancestors and descendants they don't literally mean by blood, just by reincarnation. Link doesn't ever have kids, he just reincarnated as different people in different families. Just because TP Link lives on a ranch does not mean he is related to Malon. Yes he has a horse named Epona and knows Epona's song, but that could simply be explained by Link just remembering that from his past life and believing he made the song himself and decided to name his horse that, or just because he was inspired by the hero who he doesn't know is him reincarnated.
I cried when you showed the guard in the alley. That part was always so sad for me; loyal guard dies almost alone, but at least he got to fulfill his duty and report to Link. Imagine how scared and alone he must have felt until Link appeared.
I though I was saving his life by never talking to him, but now I realized what I’ve done…

@@MeatSim9 Well, yes but no. Majorlink's interpretation of WHEN Link was sent back to at the end is different from the official one. Official stance is that the meeting in the garden replaces the very first time Link and Zelda met. It basically undoes the majority of the Child Timeline too. The temple only briefly opens to let him out, he never gets the fire or water stones.
@@DIEGhostfishit’s a 50/50. Some believe what you just detailed, as it makes the most sense when comparing it to the origanal OoT ending. Indeed, I myself used to think that. However, in the 3rd remake we see that link gets sent back to when he first pulled out the Tri force and that Navi leaves in the temple of time. So personally I actually think Major Linke timeline is more canon

The attention to detail to the small bits of official lore we have is amazing. Link getting together with Malon, giving the Hero’s bow to the gorons, and Ganondorf having death sword! I love this series so much!!!

This was amazing. Major Link single handedly carrying Zelda/OoT/MM fandom on his back. I loved the scenes with ganondorf and the kokiri forest. This whole thing was great. I can't wait to see the continuation
The moment near the end where shit got real and you hear the original Fire Temple theme was *chef's kiss*. This whole series is incredibly well-crafted, both in terms of the physical animation and the storytelling. Like others have said, so long as Nintendo themselves don't delve into this post-Majora time period, your series will forever be my headcanon. Congratulations and I can't wait to see how this ends.
11:19 - This scene gave me chills. This entire production is an act of love, clearly. I never expected the Hylian Royal Guard to be the son of the dead alley guard, for example. But that specific scene, as soon as I saw the scales on that hand, I realized what was happening and was shocked.
Can’t help but feel like that teaser will lead to how the hero’s shade lost an eye. These animations are so good!
The eye link lost in the teaser is a different eye then in the game but it is the same eye as the hero's shade on Wikipedia

Cannonly Link is always left handed, but i belive in the twilight princess, depending on which console your playing, he can be Right handed as 'spites' are mirrored for that version( the wii remode acting as a word whiel teh majority of peopelwere beleived to be right handed, wingian right hadn wiimote to cause left arm swing was teh reason tehy changed the layout on that platform. (ie room A is on the left in Gamecube but same room A would be on the right on Wii). so i gues to guage the Correct missing eye, youl have to refence which swordhand he is using

This game originally came out when I was 10 years old. Now I’m 34. It’s a unique feeling of catharsis that comes from watching these videos, watching these characters who were children when I was children now grow up and deal with mature adult themes in a way that I can relate to. There’s nothing quite like it on the Internet. The way these videos are designed to mimic the UI style of the original games makes this feel not like a remake, reimagining, or fan project, but that we’re literally picking up where we left off with these characters 24 years ago and they’ve all aged with us

Okay Here's what I like about these episodes is what a lot of modern films fail almost EVERY time, and that's not treating the audience that their dumb.
Love the fact that the worldbuilding and the characters facial expressions and actions tell the story EVEN with subtitles. It even adds more when you've played the games! And the MUSIC, very well placed in regards to atmosphere and tone for each scene.

Sometimes I find it hard to believe that this series is a fan-made animation. The writing and music are absolutely top tier!
Fun fact: The Legend of Zelda (1986) was Robin Williams' favorite video game, and even named his daughter after Princess Zelda.

Link needs to realize he's lucky he has so many people that care about him so deeply. Most of us are lucky to have one or two of those people in our lives but he has so many. Deep friendships and Zelda and Malon are both in love with him. It seems like his failure to realize this is why he became the Hero's Shade.
It's brilliant how something as trivial as dialogue choice is represented as Links thoughts instead. It's amazing how even the little things bring so much enjoyment!

The more I think about it the more I love this pairing. I expected to see some reaction from Malon when Castle Town was attacked. I want to know that she's ok!
The Hyrule Historia revelations pretty much confirm (as good as it's gonna get) Link x Malon. Even without the lore book Twilight Princess Link knowing Epona's song by default kindov seals the deal. Malon learned Epona's song from her mother, so it's a song passed down in her family.
Who does Link have a child with though? He's the ancestor of Twilight Princess Link, so it has to be someone.
to be fair, linkxmalon might be more canon than zelink, this is because his ancestor, tp link lives in ordinary village instead of royal family and stuffs, tp link also knows the Epona song. also, the ordon village might exist because link and malon move together to the forest, this can be proved with how the ordon village is all about farming. of course this doesn't 100% confirms this, but its more likely.
@Monhnae Harris I am Link x Zelda for every Zelda game *except* for OOT/MM/TP. In that trilogy, Link x Malon just seems way more likely.
We haven't seen Link in action yet, but we should keep in mind that he is *far* from weak, considering all the enemies he's faced throughout his journey.
Link's defeated Ganondorf before in the adult timeline, and he even took down his beast form as well. Also remember that he vanquished Majora, a demonic entity, in the child timeline too (without the Master Sword). These are just two out of the dozens of foes Link has fought and overcome. It's clear that he has a lot of experience as the Hero, probably more so than most of the other Link incarnations.
Back then, Link was still just a kid (mentally in OOT and physically in MM). Now he is much older, probably in his prime. Sure, Ganondorf is powerful but let's not underestimate how strong and skilled Link is at this point. He may not have the Master Sword or his masks on him this time around, but he can still hold his own against Ganondorf with the sheer skill that he has. Take, for example, being able to fight Calamity Ganon with nothing but a soup ladle in BOTW.
Furthermore, the prior experience Link has from fighting Ganondorf in the adult timeline will give him a huge advantage in this one. Ganondorf, on the other hand, will be fighting Link for the first time. Don't forget the fact that in this timeline he barely even knows who Link is. To him, he's just a random knight no different from the other knights he's killed. So he'll definitely be caught off-guard when said random knight puts up a *much* bigger fight than he would expect.
When you look back on everything he's been through, in reality, Link here would actually be Ganondorf's final boss.
But he lacks the sword that seals the darkness.

Link is certainly strong enough to oppose Ganondorf but keep in mind that Link doesn't have the Master Sword and chances are he didn't keep the masks and even if he did, Ganondorf might try to even the playing field by deciding to fight Link 1v1 with just their sword skills and that is something Ganondorf would do given that despite the fact that he is evil he is also honorable as he's shown respect for Link and Zelda on numerous occasions and in the final 1v1 sword duel of Twilight Princess Ganondorf actually decides to fight Link without using his abilities.
@@chadpeterson5698 in a previous episode he gave the masks to HM salesman, and here he's not wearing his mirror shield and gilded sword either. But at the same time, Ganondorf doesn't have the Triforce of Power yet (he gets it at his execution) and Link should have his Light Arrows from MM.

The only question is does he still have his bow. We see it on his back when he visited Darunia but we haven't seen it with him after he wore the armor.
If Link already left the Hero's Bow with the Gorons then any kind of arrow would be useless. Link would have to fight with just a Hylian sword and shield.
Not only that but mentally he is at a disadvantage. In OOT and MM, Link had some time and confronted Ganon and Majora. Here however it's Ganondorf confronting him. Link was not prepared or expected fighting Ganondorf right out of the gate.
Another thing is Skull Kid. He lead Ganondorf to Link and the Deku Tree, meaning that Link must be confused why Skull Kid betrayed him.
Considering the last we saw him was when he was with Tatl and Tael and the fact that neither Fairy was with him might indicate something rather dark. Not only that but Skull Kid was shaking when he pointed at Link and looked away saddened and ashamed.
As much as I hate to say it, Ganondorf might have captured or killed Tatl and Tael and threatened Skull Kid to the point where he had no choice. That would piss Link off and cause him to fight more angrily. This might be what determines the fight. Will Link die here, I'm not too sure but considering Link is suspected to be the "Cursed Swordsman who sleeps under the Sacred Tree", can you really think Ganondorf won't take advantage of this, especially when he knows from the Temple of Time theme and the third episode hinting at Ganondorf is aware Link has the Triforce of Courage and is looking for it?
I knew the moment link dawned that helmet, we were watching the beginning of the twlight timeline
And any one whos gotten the swordsman skills knows what links fate is soon to be...
Tbf we don't know what his fate was. I personally think he lived a peaceful life, just hung on after death due to Ganon eventually returning, and he knew he would eventually pass the skills to another version of himself, who was marked with the triforce of courage.
I can't believe this is purely a fan project for fun and not something actively funded by Nintendo. Just... wow. You guys are freaking amazing. I'm enjoying this so much, I can't even comprehend how much effort it must take to put this together. Thank you for sharing your love of LoZ and your gifts.
PS the Skyward Sword callback had me losing my mind, and the Malon/Link interaction... I love everything about this series
I found the first 3 episodes and watched them last year when I was incredibly down, and it gave me a sense of hope that things would be better. Things have since gotten better and I can't wait to see what you have in store for us!

Things can always become just as good as they were bad. Sometimes it just takes a bit of a fight and patience. Glad things have gotten better, I been focusing on things improving as well and they are slowly but surely! 🤗❤️👍🏾💯

That cliffhanger!! 😵 Totally did not see that poe invasion coming! Every episode gets better and better, I swear. The entire team of Hero’s Purpose is talented and each aspect of this project is infused with the love of a series we all adore. Thank you for sharing this masterpiece with us! I also really enjoy that Malon and Link’s interaction is so pure and lovely. Whether it’s romantic or friendship-based or both, I totally appreciate how pure and almost sacred their care for one another is. 😊

Honestly I thought the series was dead after there was a four month interval between the release in the first three and then we went a year without the release of the fourth, so glad to see that I was wrong, and it simply took so long because animation takes a long time and real life stuff probably was going on. Great animation and I’m hyped for episode 5!
That means episode 5 will be released in a few years with all these fights 😆😆🤣
He puts so much effort in this video I think its totally understandable, if he needs 6 months or another year to create such a masterpiece.

I seriously love this series. Your storytelling is so believable, it feels like this is the actual unseen canon. Everything flows so smoothly, and flows like the story is supposed to. Even though this is not "official" Nintendo content, I still consider this series to be the cannon storyline to what happened to Link after Majora's Mask, and before Twilight Princess.
I agree however I do wonder if Malon is pregnant as the hero of twilight is a blood relative of the hero of time.

I started watching this series today thinking "I mean, it's a fan-made series, how good can it be?" and now I'm completely invested! This is like the headcanon/fanfic I've always wanted since I was a kid. My only regret is that I started watching this before the finale, so I have to wait in anticipation!

As an OoT fanatic, I absolutely love how much of the lore and game MajorLink actually knows and involves in this story. Absolutely beautiful
I’m really glad he used the line from the Gossip Stone in the Temple of Time courtyard, “They say that Malon of Lon Lon Ranch hopes a knight in shining armor will come and sweep her off her feet someday”. Rumor from that era said that was the original ending of Ocarina that they scraped.
i love the moments where link is having fun times with his freinds and possible Girlfriend but how can i be happy knowing how this is going to end

I love the fact that Link has morals and actually knows he has a duty to fulfill even though no words are said. Just his emotions alone tell that even though he experienced many hardships and was hesitant about his decisions and that there is things that must be done.
You can see everything in his face expressions it's really cool
I have no words... EVERYTHING IS SO PERFECT! The intimate moments with Malon and the sprout warmed my heart so much, the flashbacks filled me with sadness and the action in the episode was perfectly executed, I had my heart was spiraling around the whole time. AND THAT'S WITHOUT TALKING ABOUT THE CLIFFHANGER! A Masterpiece nonetheless

I absolutely loved it as well , the way Malon wanted to join him made me cry and that she cared for him and his reaction to his mother's story broke my heart poor Link ... And I gasped and teared up at the end when his helmet flew and he screamed 😢😭 I really love MajorLink's animations

...This is all too intense! Gerudo's attack on Hyrule and Link's faceoff with Ganondorf made me sweat. I can really feel what is happening in the animation. But man, it was worth the wait. 👏👏✨

seeing link and malon interact makes me feel so warm and fuzzy on the inside but at the same time i get deeply depressed knowing what’ll eventually happen to the hero of time

One thing I like in particular is Ganondorf's characterization, even when his original plan failed he managed to improvise and that scene with the Deku Tree shows that despite his wickedness Ganondorf still had a glimmer of light since he cares about the future of his people and wants the suffering they have endured to end and he really hated working with the King of Hyrule since he felt like he was betraying his people which kinda makes me feel for the guy, sure he's the reincarnation of evil but he's still sympathetic.
I don't know how I missed this announcement, but I am HERE for this! I've been hyped for Episode Four for months, and I'm so excited that it's finally here. I have loved Ocarina of Time and owned it on the N64 all my life, so this series holds a special place in my heart. This is the kind of Zelda content that keeps my hype for BOTW's sequel alive. This satisfies that Zelda craving the way a new Zelda game would, even if it's only half an hour long. You guys have made that magic work for me. But now I'm here, ready to watch it, and I am HYPED.
Also, since I missed the stream, I'm just gonna type my reactions as I watch the video now. Might be entertaining for some people that way, who knows. Don't read this comment if you don't want spoilers while watching the video.

The lighting in this is fantastic. I don't know how you managed to pull off such realistic lighting with the firelight, but it paid off.
Oh my goodness, you used the C select menu as part of the story! Both so brilliant and so cute! This is one of those moments where I want the characters to kiss, but they hug instead and it's just... better that way.

I appreciate the non-linear storytelling of this series. It's not all in chronological order, and that just works for a story like this.

I like the contrast of Impa's confidence in Link vs Zelda's compassion. It goes to show how not everyone on the same side will necessarily see things eye to eye. It almost seems as if Impa's confidence in Link borders on... indifference to his well-being. But both perspectives make sense here. Well done conveying that.

Ohhh, that tiny use of the Skyward Sword soundfont was a level of attention to detail you didn't need to go to, but it just makes it so much better!
So you're implying this isn't the first time this has happened to Ganondorf. Makes sense, very interesting. And Link's nightmare's coinciding with his passing by is just so thematically delicious.
That whole Ganondorf/Deku Tree interaction was awesome. Very well done. Very... humanizing. And the use of the "blood-soaked sea" line was yet another good callback.
I get the funny feeling that this theme of mercy will be quite relevant later...

Whoa, an acoustic guitar song?! A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one. I love all the piano and electronic tracks, but that is such an unexpected and welcome change of musical pace. And it's Ballad of the Goddess, no less!
It may seem repetitive at first how the Deku Tree Sprout tells the story of Link's mother, but... this is an alternate timeline in which they wouldn't have known Link knew and it would be very in character for them to share it.
Why do I get the ominous feeling the supply run won't just be another supply run?
Age of Calamity has taught me to be wary of when "new recruits" show up, so I'm immediately suspicious of that convenience.
GAAAAAAAH that ending sequence!!! The buildup of tension, that inescapable paranoia that something will go wrong, that little moment of hope when you think for just a moment this isn't as bad as it will be... and then all hell breaks loose. And you just pulled out all the stops there with the epic Gerudo Valley music, the arrival of the army, and even Phantom Ganon itself! And of course, the terrible but perfect way to finish it off was... to have Ganondorf come to Kokiri Forest himself.
Again.
And now I'm more hyped for Episode Five than I was for this. Brilliant.
My goodness, this whole video blew all my expectations out of the water. This series gets better with every episode. Thank you for making this experience. You guys should be very proud of yourselves for this masterpiece.

The first 5 minutes I was trying not to cry and then it just. That build up was incredible and the way you showed Ganondorf having visions from Demise. All those questions about fate and destiny. The ending the ending shocked me. Everything went from zero to 100 real quick. You are an amazing storyteller. I loved it. I eagerly await what you have for us next.
If you closely during Ganondorf's vision, you can hear the end of the battle between the Hero of the Skies Link and Demise

I really don't know how to say what I felt. I felt so tender seeing Malon and Link hugging each other, Skullkid, Taya and Tael playing hide-and-seek in front of the deku sprout was beautiful, but that damn Ganondorf hurt Skullkid and I wish Link would destroy him atom by atom. 😡😠

I pray one day we’ll get an OoT and Majora Hd remake with graphics this good. The animation in this is only second to the amazing story you’ve crafted here.
This series is what storytelling and creating art are all about. This is very inspiring stuff.
HUZZAH! He has returned. I knew keeping the fate would win out. Anyways, a few thoughts:
1. MALINK FTW!!
2. Savelle is quickly becoming one of my favorite minor characters.
3. I just loved the whole Ganondorf segment. Seeing his side of the story instead of being given a cardboard cutout Disney villain vibe is a breath of fresh air. Major points in creativity!
4. The whole end sequence...Yikes! Talk about cunning. Really intense!
5. WHY, SKULL KID?!? WHY???
All in all, wonderful! Bravo! Perfect! I couldn't be more enthralled! Looking forward to the next episode.
If you saw the way his hand was shaking, Ganondorf probably had threatened his life. Also, since Tatl and Tael aren’t there, he may have willingly given himself as bait to let the two escape, and fell into Ganondorf’s hands in the process.
@@Hadaron that’s what I’m thinking as well, Skull kid Would never hurt his friends against his own free will…He’s being forced to give up link in exchange for tatle and tael from being harmed. It’s a difficult choice but, If you had a choice to save 2 of your friends in exchange of one friend, or lose 2 friends in exchange of keeping one…I would most likely give in as well

I just realized this after recently rewatching; and I dunno if it was a conscious choice but the way it is angled at 3:40 reminds me of that scene in majoras mask with Anju and Kafei and their “marriage proposal”…..couldn’t be a coincidence..right?
I think I’ve said it on every episode but the production and storytelling in this series is unbelievable. I haven’t been as excited for something like this since the Breaking Bad finale.
I must admit, even though I am on the ZeLink shipper fan base, watching this animated where Impa is a huge factor as to why they might not end up together (due to fan theories of course) is the perfect way to describe the emotional state of affairs that Link must be harnessing. This entire series is a must have and though Nintendo will never canonically prove anything to be true, I must say Zelda's feelings for Link, Link saying his goodbyes, Malon already openly wanting to drop everything and leave with him (Honestly, if Zelda wasn't in these state of affairs, she would have done the same thing or even more), finally Link pulling a Sasuke/Sakura moment and entering into the forest, it's just poetry written.... I'm excited for episode 5.

As an og of ocarina...ya done good Lenny. Ya done real good! I always tried to imagine how Ganon would of approached the other races, especially the Deku tree. I was worried about how the directing for a project like this would go.. I was teary eyed alot through this, it's beautiful, faithful and sprinkled with the imagination us Zelda fans used in the older days to describe how it could've happened.. to see it come to fruition is beyond phenomenal I love this and I can see you guys do too well done!!!

the way Malon hugged him and and said she cared about him and that she wanted to go with him was beautiful, I legit cried ,and the way Link reacted to his mother's story again was painful, my heart broke and cried , this animation was well made and I suppose he lost his eye at the end , I immediately gasped when his helmet flew off and he screamed, I was hanging on the edge of my seat ,well done MajorLink I wonder when episode 5 will be out , I also love Malon and Link

I forget who did it but there is a theory that TP Link is actually the son of Malon and The Hero of Time based on his knowledge of Epona's song. (He never learns it in-game so how does he know it right from the start?)

I just wanted to say that I really appreciate your hard work and time for doing this series. I was totally hooked. I was not even trying to bring out my perfectionistic thoughts on how this and that could have been better. Every scene and music were perfectly placed. One can tell the story was thoroughly written and would perfectly fit in a real Zelda game story. Please do not stop doing this high quality videos.

This show keeps getting better and better. It was great to see the lost woods group all together. Loved Ganondorfs Jinx moment with Demise. Loved the suspense at the gate scene. Cant wait to see how link loses his eye like the heros shade next episode.

I've been a hardcore Zelink shipper since my childhood. This episode seriously managed to convince me that Malink is not only incredibly viable, but also very adorable. It's super valid to boot.
If anyone's been a Malink shipper all this time, I'm sorry I ever doubted. I don't know why I never truly considered it, though I guess that's what happens when I hyperfocus on that one thing for so long
