lol…my old trick that’s worked for me any many others I’ve shown is literally just take care of wax and wax the augers…keeps the snow moving through, I also wax before and through the shoot and it makes 10x of a difference. Give it a shot
Never had snow stick to the Auger shaft but it builds up between the side Augers and the Accelerator Augers and the blower effectively becomes a plow, and not a good one...
Hi, another great video and idea , works in theory anyway, will wait until working video comes out. Thinking about buying a HSS928CW , IN YOUR OPINION, how bright is the led light of should it be replaced? Thanks Wils 👍
Will post a follow up video for sure. The LED is bright enough for me. I rarely snowthrow at night. I always do it in the day time. But i have very high quality sets of headlamps (that go on my head) to choose from when i do night ops of any sort. Video come soon covering this topic.
Sorry, but bro me it seems as though it’s a waste of time and money. I’ve been running my Honda’s for over 35 years and to me it never has been any big deal. Snow sticks to the augers, too. I would like to see the follow up, maybe you can convince me to do this, but at this time it’s a NO. Thanks
My immediate thought is that one of those plastic pieces would break, jam up and get throw out of the chute like bullets. I would rather spray dry lubricant like PTFE. I never had snow built up problem on my Ariens.
why are some rotating??? and some are not?? if snow starts to build up how would they rotate?? because wouldn't the snow start to hold them down, why not have them tight on the shaft so they are always rotating??
They should be loose and rotate independently from the auger shaft. Its going to be hard for snow to stick when theres adjacent paddles moving and breaking it up before it accumulates. But yes waiting on some good heavy wet snow to try these out and video them in action.
It looks like the theory is that it just breaks up the surface area to make it harder for the snow to find a continuous area to stick to. There isn't gonna be any kind of real force behind them.
Nope. It wears off too quickly and the auger eventually clogs up as you are using it. I’ve tried silicone over the years in all kinds of wet snow with the same results.
An impeller kit is like the closest thing to injecting steroids into your snowblower! Will never clog and throw significantly further! Installed mine 10 years ago with stuff I got from tractor supply, but the kits are available on Amazon
Correct. Impeller kit is all you need. I tried everything from silicone sprays to wax etc. They dont last long. I made my own impeller kit. I have a Murray snowblower, No Ariens or Honda.
@georgebenevides absolutely! I made mine from conveyor type material and stainless steel hardware from tractor supply. Impressive to say the least. I have professional snow removal guys stop and ask me what did I do to it. Lol this thing will almost pump plain water!!? 💪🔥🇺🇲💯
@@paulcondie2520 Yes I done the same from Mud flaps from 10 wheeler. Stainless steel hardware and the metal piece with wholes. Impeller already had a whole so no drilling. My neighbour liked it so I done the same to his Murray snowblower. Yes they work great, even very wet dont clog.
i think im going to just use the wires to my hand warmers and heat up the auger axle.... and if any of those things break loose itll be shrapnel city 🙄
Not sure the purpose of this. I’ve never had snow stick to my augers….ever. I’ve put rubber on my impeller trailing edges long before it was a thing. Like a lot of guys here I’ve sprayed silicone in the auger tub and find that it works pretty good. Like a few guys here I’ll wait for the follow up video with the actual snow results. Till then I’ll remain very skeptical…….my 2 cents
I wouldn't do that, auger speeds vary and are generally VERY FAST, your attaching crap to an auger, running at potential letal speeds, thoes are going to come loose and damge / injure or maim. I doubt ANYONE is going to be checking tightness if these things after every run. This will ALSO invalidate your warranty and expect to be sued into the stone age if any of that comes loose... A lot of instructions say.. "do not modify this tool as it can cause injury" I'm all for upgrading and hacks, this is foolhardy beyond belief even if it does work
From a Honda snowblower manual.. I'm also no physics buff but adding stuff to a rotating axel/axis is going to effect balance and cause an imbalance or issue, so just dont "Never tamper with or alter any of the controls or safety devices on the snowblower. Tampering is a violation of Federal and California law. Failure to properly follow, maintenance instructions and precautions can cause you to be seriously hurt or killed.
Sorry but auger spins very slow. If done correct those flaps should not rotate, if you actually paid attention to anything i said. You are thinking of the impeller. Do you have any idea how man people put impeller kits on machine that are out of warranty. Probably tens of thousands a year. And who cares its my machine. Mod at your own risk. Get off your high horse bud. Real men modify their snowblowers.
Lot of talk no action, we dont need to see them on the workbench, we need to see how you installed them. We don't need to see them going 1,000mph we need to see what they look like stopped and up close. The most important you left out. Did you even look at the video?
I have a Ariens Deluxe SHO" very powerful machine. No clogging here. Just spray a little Silicone on augers and chute. It's like magic...
You ever do an impeller modification to throw further?
Not yet i still have the kit in the workshop waiting for a day to install it. It really does not need it, but more just curiosity.
It probably throw 100 ft lol
Can Silicone Spray or Ceramic Spray Wax..👍🏼

I'm curious on the results. Couldn't find a follow-up video. Is it a must-do or only marginal improvement? Thanks!
Nice trick. My Toro 826LE is clogging galore. I'm going to have to try this. Where did you get the plastic from?
Oh sweet: another John Franco snowblower mod! I was worried you had sold your HSS1332.
Never had snow stick to the Auger shaft but it builds up between the side Augers and the Accelerator Augers and the blower effectively becomes a plow, and not a good one...
only happens i notice towards the end of the season, when snow become more wet and sticky
I just use toro power clear single stage.... Never had any problems and it gets down to the pavement.
Auger on a single stage spins much faster than a two-stage that's

Nice mod! Where did you buy the plastic inside the snoot?
i custom make them and sell them on ebay
@@JohnFrancoNH Ok! Do you make something for the inside of the chute aswell? To protect the paint against stone?
Nice trich for the snow blower 😊 thanks

Are you selling them? I'm interested.
yes once i prove out the prototype and refine any details ill most likely sell them on ebay like my chute deflector
Do you still sell kit , have same blower
Thanks for that FYI 😊
Rem Oil / Silicone is a simpler way.
Hello do you sell this
yes i was thinking of it, you interested?
@@JohnFrancoNH yes
@@JohnFrancoNH so can I buy a set from you
Still interested
I am interested in buying this mod. Just received the chute mod.
Very clever modification.
Mine were hard to install because I had the auger on, I figured what went wrong at the hospital
Silicone Spray everything often. Nothing will stick

yes but that does not last very long

all these improvements to the blower, yet it looks like you just used your 4 wheeler with the blade instead

Lots of talk. No showing the making or the testing. Looks like you had snow. Pouring water into the snow likely could prove your concept.
👏👌🇳🇴🤠

How about you make them and post a video yourself then. Some of you guys are so demanding over a video that's free to watch.
