I know you guys say it all the time: "we didn't want to go overboard on this car" but you guys can't help yourselves ;) The wheel well/ducts, the relay cover, the upper bumper valance piece. I just want to commend you guys for always building top-notch vehicles, never forgetting the important details. It's those details that set you guys apart from the rest, every time! Kudos fellas!
Usually how goes lol 🤣
In my opinion, the FD RX7 is simply one of the most beautiful cars ever built. That thing looks and sounds amazing!
Definitely. If I ever hit the lottery, this is one car I'm buying just for its beauty.
I agree 100%.
something so satisfying about all new ducting and oem plastics, makes you feel like you're doing it proper ;)
The side profile on the dyno is gorgeous. What a win 🏆
Such a beautiful car. One of the best looking cars you guys have done.
Have the same turbo kit and had to put on a bigger fuel pressure damper to make mine run better in the low rev range. I can also send over my map for you to compare also on a haltech. Also i found that the turbo and engine like 1.9 bar. V/R Jank
Had a similar issue when mine was being tuned. The Aem smart coils did the trick, but as always could be a plethora of things.
Wish we didn't get the abbreviated build on this one, it deserved a full build series. Great car! I'm building a 99 FD right now with similar parts list.
Your choice in mods is very clean and tasteful. This is one of the most beautiful cars I have ever seen.
This car looks and sounds soo good! those side profiles of it on the dyno were the perfect angle. Stoked with how this came out. Cant wait to see yall drive it a little more. S15 project is gonna be sick too. Keep it up yall!
Gotta say, I think that there is my dream JDM car! Perfect color, awesome build. Too bad they are just so expensive now.
Great build guys! Love it!!!
I reckon it could be the transition from the primary to the secondary injectors, that is causing your break up, seems about the right place in the rpm range for this. They are very tricky to transition right.
You two have impeccable taste in restoring and modifying cars, jdm, euro, everything 👌
I love that FD so much!
FD's are so beautiful, and that color, Dayum!
I'd love to help contribute to the diagnostics of this if anyone would like a hand. This is the platform that I specialize in and should have some insight to help with the issues you're facing. Great job on the build guys!
Hopefully they see this comment. Have learned alot from wat hing your videos
so off the cuff, what do you think it could be. some people mentioned the switch from primary to secondary injectors or fuel damper
@@MelonTL_YH2 I could see it off of a log file pretty easily, but speculation without data is just a bad foot to start on. With diagnostics, I always go in with an open mind and ask a bunch of questions about where things are grounded, which spark plugs, timing at a given RPM/Load, staging location, etc. There are so many small factors that I take for granted after doing 200+ of these engines that I'd rather start with fresh eyes.
this is the type of content we want , seeing the cars beaning built is cool but its the sound of it running is were the joy really is .
Awesome video and car. Fd owner here for 25 years and you made us proud
For me it is amazing to know hold old FDs are and they still look so modern and good today.
Man, what a car and what a sound🙏🏻 make sure to make a “driving video” of it when spring/better weather is there. Curious what you will be doing next, keep up the good work!
Been subscribed to you guys since 2019 and also viewed a few from your archives. In my opinion that FD is the most beautiful/desirable car you guys have built. Of course i am somewhat biased, but kudos guys, what a babe!
Super clean build, you guys always go above and beyond with the details!
A well sorted FD is every enthusiasts wet dream 🤤 What a beauty! The sound track alone is worth owning a rotary
My dumbass was thinking bad gas during the results of the tune, but I'm not questioning the pros who do this on a daily basis. Those power numbers are great! I'm jealy
I thoroughly enjoyed that rotary ASMR at the end. I can't think of a better feeling than just enjoying a fantastic car doing something as mundane as driving back "home" to put the car away until next time. Love it
That innocent blue mica color really pops under the shop lights. Wow! Makes me want to repaint my car to this color!
No that can't be you have to show us a track episode or something I want more 😫 it sounds so sweet! You can't leave us with this cliffhanger!
Having a couple of nagging issues is great. Means we might get more fd content!
I had that same problem when using aftermarket spark plug wires.. factory parts fixed it right up.
What a beautiful FD, and of course you guys made another great build. So much want !
Under tray should have gone under the front lip. I learned that the hard way. Wind gets between the gaps and damages the strength ultimately destroying the liner and puts a lot of pressure on the front lip and front bumper.
I can't wait to see what else you guys have in the works! Beautiful job on this FD, keeping it on the road is the way to go
Dang that car sounds amazing, I’d love to drive this around and commute in it. Music to my ears
You have done a fabulous job there guys! Great car and you made it so well done! I wish you keep and enjoy that legendary machine.
Your video quality is now top notch guys! You've been learning from Ben et Ben? 😃 Personally I prefer the long builds, this one felt rushed. Maybe time to increase the team and get an editor to lighten the load and have more time to do more vids? Keep digging guys, and I feel your pain with winter. From a Canuck to another.... 🇨🇦
What no turbo timer! 😂 that’s how you truly get that late 90’s to early 2000’s oem+ feel!
Run NGK R7420-10 plugs and check grounding for coils.
I very much enjoy the process and the documenting of the build journey for the FD. Excellent job guys!
I wanna see you guys attempt an nd1 miata build! Turbo, wheels, oem+ i would love to see you guys attempt the front sway bar
Beautiful car/build. Thank you for being genuine and not unique and excessive.
A pretty satisfying end to the series I reckon! Even stock on the 16" wheels, these cars look good but yours I have to say is done just right 👍Fingers crossed the slight running issue is nothing major
So I'm doing a 2008 3V Bullitt Mustang for club racing, saw your vids.
I ran Miata in SCCA and 24 hour races, I campaigned ist gen RX7 in ITA for 3 years and still own my 92 FD R1 which I used for instructing. Sweet. The FD we had air to water, then to large A2A. Good stuff guys. ( i usd 2 MSD boxes with hi power motorcycle coils up to 20lbs no issue) used Nippondenso plugs much colder fine wire.FC Datalogic did not use stock timing split.
Absolutely love the build!! You guys did a great job, it was fun to watch as a fellow FD enthusiast
ugh, that turbo sounds SOOOO GOOOD w the rotary and the exhaust is on point... SOUNDS AMAZING, LOOKS BEAUTIFUL - GG
Awesome work guys! Very similar setup to my rx7 same colour too 😀 👌. Gives me motivation to finish it and get it tuned. Love the OEM+ Style
Ok it actually sounds great and louder than the other made it seem! Let’s see some 2 step action!
The attention to detail on this build!!
Great series guys, keep up the good work, looking forward to the S 15 build
That turbo + blow off noise is amazing 😁😁
That FD is beautiful and sounds amazing
Perfection! I am sooo happy to hear this engine run and see this beautiful build! Keep it guys. It looks so good as well and it must drive good, enjoy it on the track next text!!!
Thank you so much😁🤜👍💪
I started following you guys with the mullet mustang and I’m not a tuner guy but you sure do build nice cars. I’m hooked in Wisconsin!
Awesome content, you need an earthing kit, and upgraded ignition amplifier, new O.E coils and decent leads.
Another great video, I love the FD build! I good to know about BMS Tuning - I'll keep them in mind when I get my FD tuned up.
It sounds sooo good! This is the same setup I have for mine, but its in boxes still. This makes me want to get it done.
Those are not the typical rotary spark plugs. The strap covers the hole going into the combustion chamber with that type. BUR7EQP for the leading. BUR9EQP for the trailing.
Hey guys! New build idea. My first car.
1993 honda accord.
Really enjoyed this car and i am going to buy another one.
Love from Australia at 2am! Love you guys’ content 💗
Turned out amazing! Amazing build quality
Battling Canadian weather. Given its early December and we really haven't had much snow Is a treat. I can get used to 3 months of proper winter 😆
Loved this series! Please bring it back guys
And Merry Christmas to all you Piston heads out there
As a NB owner, the ND is a dream car!..that one's just right!
This is an rx7, not a Miata
Oooo baby, I love keeping the stock plastics under the car and in the wheel wells for a car that's driven on the road. Such a big improvement in ride quality perspective, nose reduction and just more of a pleasure to drive.
It’s probably due to the Doritos you put in the engine.
Car sounds so much better with out a big port
Love it, keep up the awesome work boys!
Great job on this FD 😉 I love it!
I would have loved if you guys covered more details on this build, it was very interesting to watch. It was awesome nevertheless!
Sounds so good, looks good. Great project guys! Dont sell it!!!
Regarding the missfire, which plugs was used? I saw you tried gapping, but as a matter of a fact the "propper" sparkplugs that should be used on a rotary according to Mazda is something like the NGK BUR7EQ for leading plugs and BUR9EQ for trailing which you can't gap like normal plugs. Best of luck investigating.
That guy erik is a real one sheesh can’t go wrong with free part that helps the clean look👌
Bro ❤ it’s like a brand new FD❤❤ I love the steering wheel
Those wheels look so good!
Damn the rx7 is a beauty… I have an s14a similar colour with the kouki wing etc tucked up in the garage… I’m now going to watch some summer vids I made as these cars are sooo damn nice… can’t wait till spring 😊
Connie looking fineeeee back there!
What a fkn beauty, amazing job dudes 🤙
It’s going to need a rebuild by the time y’all start it back up in the summer.
Cant get over how good this thing looks on those Konigs
Hot DAMN does this car sound good with the turbo spooling up. Well done guys. The RX7 has always been a fav of mine - coming from a JZ guy
We've tuned in for the entire build to watch you guys tuck it away for the winter? What a joke! The roads are clear, temps above zero, LET'S GOOOOO!!!
This needs a Track day !
Makes me miss my 87 fc. If Honda ever made the rotary… 🤔 🤔 it would be so reliable. Loved the rotary so much but so many things to watch for unlike other cars.
I like your last speech. Such a beautiful car.
13:00 that turbo flutter!!!
This car is my Gran Turismo 2 wet dream
Gorgeous!
Glad to hear that you aren't making the mistake that so many poor unsuspecting rotary owners made by trying to run full synthetic without deleting the metering and doing fuel premix. Full synthetic is great until you encounter an engine that actually needs to burn a small amount of oil.
C’mon man how can you not show any emotion at 7:31 😂 Love the build can’t wait for the next one
Hey everyone! I have just moved to Canada from New Zealand and am looking for work in the motorsports industry. I am 26, halfway through an automotive apprenticeship, have two years workshop experience, and would love to learn more about wheel alignments/tuning/setting up a car for circuit racing/time attack. Any recommendations on which province/city would be best to live in to find a job in the industry would be greatly appreciated! Cheers
You're alive!!! Its been too long!
Different camshaft might tidy up your midrange
Love that 2meter long antenna on the fd lol
This video is pushing me toward the single turbo conversion. Just for the simple clean bay.
It looks great, please post an update somewhere when you figure out the misfire.
Such a good looking car
Beautiful car 👌🏻
It's a really nice car. RX-7. goodjob
Beautiful❤️
*DOPE*
🔥🔥🔥
Was so close on my original guess of 380 whp. Will be hard to wait to see it get some track time.
That car looks amazing. Good balance. There are too many over the top builds.
