Thanks Maestro. Of course you go way faster than my learning ability and so this beautiful song will have to queue for (quite) a while on my list 😊... your videos are always full of intriguing hints and I'd like to play (almost) everything you play (or die trying...). And this takes a lot of time... PS: not to mention that Open Voicings are even more challenging to master (to learn...) than Ruthless Chords... a nice week to everybody 😊.
Did you listen to the "Bjork" version with the chords played on a harp? Better in Eb I reckon. This kind of song often sounds quite dull in C I think. (at least on a piano) I've got a fair bit of Eb muscle memory so I'll have a go at this one. I think it's a pretty melody. Anyway, great lesson as always.
I'd like to have the lead sheet in Eb, just like in the 1st video, otherwise, nicely done. I've been playing this tune for years, but without the movement and richness of your interpretation. There's always something to learn from the your voicings and the way you make the music flow. Thanks
If you like the song (I do), you might enjoy the recording by Osaka Jazz Channel. Phillip Strange makes it quite lively and fun, quite a toe-tapper. See what you think.
You might want to consider offering lead sheets and scores using MuseScore. It's free, so everybody could use it. You can play back the scores and get a rough idea of the sound. It's clean, editable, transposable. Etc.
I waited this standard for so long, thanks Tony! greetings from Argentina
I love all your tutorials of Standards. Thank you so much for extracting all these voicings.
Like #183. Beautiful song, you play fantastically.
Thanks for your wonderful video.
Another great tutorial! I thought this sounded familiar but never knew it’s title. I’d give this a try ❤
Well done tutorial...like Someone in Jazz 👏👏
