That's crazy, on the 5th of April I travelled on 390122, the same unit you travelled on, and I was also in Coach J and amazingly I was in that exact seat, very strange coincidence indeed!

I’d love to see this as a direct service from Manchester Victoria or Manchester Piccadilly (not platforms 13 or 14) to Holyhead on the SailRail Services to Dublin - I’m totally fed up having to change trains at Chester, Crewe & Lladnuo every time I catch the ferry home to Ireland from Manchester - indeed, this could be extended across the North of England to Hull, York or Leeds

Avanti West Coast is to introduce the Class 805 and Class 807 AT300s from next year. I do like the Class 390 Pendolinos.

Hello there, i thoroughly enjoyed watching this video- it was very fascinating and interesting to watch.
With regards to the Hash Brown/Potato Rosti - this was a Virgin Trains West Coast breakfast item and when Avanti took over the InterCity West Coast franchise, they dropped the Potato Rosti. On Thursday 13 April, I was booked in First Class between London Euston - Crewe on a morning breakfast service, there was no Mushrooms or Tomatoes available from the suppliers for the Great British Breakfast option, and so I went for the Belgian Waffles with Cherry Compote and Greek Yoghurt option!
Best wishes and take care. Kind regards, Peter Skuce. St Albans. Hertfordshire.

What you see of both Penrith and Carlisle stations is only a fraction of what they once were , must have been huge in their hayday , also if you get the chance to do the tour of Glasgow central station ,take it , a really good insight into its history !

    Ah Glasgow. My home.
I can’t remember the last time I used the pendolinos to get to London. Last time I traveled to London by train was from Edinburgh at that was when they were still using intercity 125 or 225s

I have upgrade to 1st class .for my journeys up to Glasgow to see ma family ..i had actually got a standard return from london for £55 ..so i thought what the hell ..lets up grade to 1st class ..so in all i payed £159 return ..so hopefully i will enjoy better setting breakfast & lunch .and more comfort incase of increased time due to engineering work....fingers crossed im not going to be disappointed ..

Hi Tracey, thank you for watching - much appreciated. £159 rtn is a good price considering its about £108 for a single, also if you're on a morning service that goes into the afternoon I think you get both meals so it's definitely worth it. The coach is well worth the upgrade and I hope you have a lovely journey, don't forget to make use of the loungers in London and Glasgow. let me know what they are like...

I've always loved how the tilt tech in these things was invented, designed and developed by British Rail. Then we sold all the patents to the Italians who we then bought trains from using the same tech, on the same line the Advanced Passenger Train was developed for with the original version of the tech. We're a silly country. The Swedes licensed the tech too for their X-2000 trains.

Good lord, how much wine did they give you?! I used to travel on Virgin between London and Manchester quite regularly and it was three hot drinks and two cold drinks on a two hour journey. I see you got four bits of toast whereas Virgin only gave you two. On my bucket list is the Highland chieftain departing midday from Kings Cross to Inverness. It's an eight hour journey so I hope that at least two meals are served and a good supply of red wine!! Nice videu sir .
