Visually this was good to watch. The long sequence out of Newcastle really set the scene, and the early morning crossing of the Tweed was superb. I have never seen those reflections on the newer road bridge before!
The F Seats like on LNER are passable. The Standard Class seats are concrete ironing boards. Horrible. Well done on picking one of the only sunny days we’ve had this year for your trip up to Edinburgh. 😂
Good video with lots of detail. Find it hard to believe that one of the Beeching Plan's recommendations was that Newcastle-Edinburgh be either closed or downgraded (to a regional route) with England-Scotland mainline trains taking the WCML. And today we have four operators (including Lumo) on this sector.
Very interesting. I like the look externally and the livery. I still haven't forgiven Transpennine for withdrawing the 68's/November 3's on the Scarborough route. Thankfully I did at least manage to get one trip from Scarborough to York last summer - involved a day excursion by coach from Skegness to York, as well as the bus from York to Scarborough. Turned into an unintended Transport Challenge and, fortunately, all went well 😂
Just had my first journeys btwn Carlisle and Glasgow with TPE's class 397s. Only criticism was the air con was not working right. Seems to be a known issue
Chance are if you tried to repeat the same trip another 5 times it would be cancelled twice due to lack of train crew. did Edinburgh to Newcastle with Lumo for 8 quid last year seats were better than L.N.E.R and trans pennine excuse

Great video, you must really hate Sunderland lol😂
Lol, it's not that bad - I used to holiday up that way a few years ago at Roker a few times and later at Seaburn 😊

My brother disagrees because he traveled with lumo and he said never again
