  • I've been teasing them before but let's finally take a quick look at my custom LFP battery boxes! Hopefully we'll be building inside of them soon!

    The different style of commentary suited this video

    Interesting video and the commentary style works well. The thing I'd say about the box design is i think the breakers should be mounted vertically ie off is down. That is the custom in the uk at least. Great work love your videos.

    Interesting video and the comment was absolute ok. The question that came to my mind at the end is: how will you get the upmost ‘box’ in that rack when it’s filled up with all the batteries? I’m looking forward for the revelation of this mystery 😊

    As a Dutch citizen myself I have one big question:
    How do you deal with insurance, with these kind of DIY projects? Because in case of a fire ore whatever I think the Dutch insurance company will close the case really fast, with these kind of DIY projects? Yes I know about the NEN guide lines etc. but i can't believe this is enough for them.
    Can you tell maybe something about this in a upcoming video? But keep the vids comming, I love you're work really. So I hope you don't see my comment as a typical Dutch sassy comment. I am just really curious about the 'insurance' part.

      I haven't investigated that much yet to be honnest! It's an interesting subject though, no worries, don't see it as a jab! I believe currently there aren't too many rules about it as long as you can prove it was a decent setup but that in itself is already vague of course. But I don't believe you have to have it certified or something to have it hooked up at least. Interesting! I'll dive in that a bit later, need to catch up a bit more first. :)

      Here in BE, every production system that is grid tied needs to be checked by an official organization. They will validate if the install meets the standards and certify it for use. If you have that paper, it should be safe for insurance as well. of course NL has different rules, but here you wouldn't even be allowed to tie the battery to the grid without this check. Same for solar, generators and other stuff that can produce energy to the grid. Next to that the home electrical install must be recertified each time there is a major change. For example when you change more than 1 circuit in the breaker box. Many people don't do that and they can have issues with insurance later if anything can be blamed on the uncertified changes

    How will you lift a loaded chassis up to the high shelf? Asking for your back.

    looking well planned. Are you intending to load test the completed packs like you did the individual cells?

    • @IntermitTech
      @IntermitTech  Рік тому

      Yes somewhat at least. In the end, when all packs are complete, the actual load per pack will actually be relatively low, closer to the 40Amps the individual cells have already been tested to.
      Or rather, my Victron setup would be capable of I believe around 210Amps divided by 4 is "only" 52.5Amps per battery box.

      @@IntermitTech Makes sense. Given the tweaking you do(++ on the future comm holes), will you be shutting down the DC side if you need to alter a single bank or are they able to handle the load across 3 banks(70amps) or will the vic limit amps to 157.5?
