  • The easiest, fastest, and cheapest way to see the Arch and get to Lovers Beach and Divorce Beach is taking a water taxi from the marina. This is the top thing to do in Cabo San Lucas, and we'll show you how to do it. (Click Show More to see additional tips.)
    0:00 Water Taxi from Cabo San Lucas Marina
    0:27 Pelican Rock and Neptune's Finger
    1:04 The Arch
    1:36 Lovers Beach
    2:02 Divorce Beach
    2:46 Lovers Beach (swimming)
    4:03 Catch the Water Taxi back
    5:18 Tips and Things to Know
    6:27 Final Recommendation
    *A couple tips that didn't make it into the video.*
    1. Pricing is negotiable and depends on a lot of factors (time of day, season, how busy it is, size of your group, etc.) Ballpark, you should look to pay $10-$20 USD per person. Remember that the goal of haggling is not to get the lowest price - it's to find a fair price that's good for you and the seller, so you both end up happy. We knew that taking the two of us out would probably not be worth it for the company if we only paid $10 each. If there were a group of us, then we would have negotiated down.
    2. When you enter the marina from any entrance point, you'll see boat captains bidding for your business. They're usually very nice. Be up front and tell them what you're looking for, and they'll help you. (If you want to stay at Lovers Beach for two hours, for example, tell them that.) All the water taxi boats are basically the same, so it doesn't really matter who you go with. Just find a captain that connect with and you'll have a great time.
    3. The boat captains work for various companies that own all the boats. The captain will take you over to the company's nearest "office" and you'll pay your negotiated price to the manager, not the captain.
    4. Remember to tip your captain. Customary tip is 10% of what you paid, 20% if you really had a great time.
    If you have more questions about the water taxi, touring the arch, exploring Lovers Beach or Divorce Beach, or even anything about Cabo San Lucas, please ask us in the comments. We love chatting about travel and helping you plan your trip.

    If you want to book something instead of haggle with the water taxis, here's a fun snorkel tour that brings you to the arch and a few other areas: www.getyourguide.com/cabo-san-lucas-l306/cabo-san-lucas-4-hour-snorkeling-cruise-with-open-bar-t334011/?partner_id=M7S3ZC0&placement=content-top&cmp=watertaxi

      Yeah, the only reason he wasn't on this trip is because he hates getting Covid tests. Now that those aren't required anymore, we can't wait to take him on another trip. Hopefully we'll be back on the East Coast sooner than later.

    Great video! So Elmer your captain basically waits for you to explore the beach and then takes you back? Did he tell you how long you had to enjoy the beach or give you a time limit?

    Great video and super helpful! I was originally thinking a Clear Boat tour, but after watching your video on that and then this video on the water taxi, I am thinking we may just do a water taxi. You mentioned that because you came late in the day, you had the whole boat to yourselves, so I am assuming that typically there would be others in the boat. Do you know if you can request a private tour? How much do you think they would request to just take out two people? And I am assuming that the water taxi is just something you show up for with no prebooked reservation, correct? Thanks so much for being so helpful!

    • @PerfectLittlePlanet
      @PerfectLittlePlanet  Рік тому +1

      Hi Anita, you're correct that you don't need a reservation. When we showed up that afternoon, there were probably 5 or 6 boat captains hanging out at the entry to the marina. They weren't pushy and didn't fight over us. Seemed like the first one to talk to us gets the sale. You can definitely request a private tour. The price would be highly dependent on current supply and demand. On their website (www.cabokellyboat.com/), you can book a 1-hr private tour for $35/pp. If you're going at a busier time, I'd say that's a fair deal. We paid $20 each when nobody was around. So aim for something in that range.

    Good advice. Also entering from the marina, you might have to pay a small port fee of around 50 pesos pp unless that's changed its been a few years since we visited CSL. Thanks for sharing!

    • @PerfectLittlePlanet

      No, when you get off the boat, the water is about knee-height, so you don't have to swim at all.

    What resort would you recommend we stay that’s closest to maderno beach that’s swimmable. We have two kids with us

    • @PerfectLittlePlanet
      @PerfectLittlePlanet  Рік тому

      We haven't stayed anywhere beside Sandos, so I'd say just go by the reviews you see online. A lot of the downtown/Medano Beach resorts are close to clubs, so some might be a little louder or adult oriented than others. Just Google "best family-friendly resorts in Cabo" and choose one close to the beach.

    Do you need to book any of the Cabo boat tour ahead of time or just show up on the day of?

    • @PerfectLittlePlanet
      @PerfectLittlePlanet  21 день тому

      The boat tours sell out, so you should book those at least a day or two in advance. The water taxis don't sell advance tickets, so those you can just show up and buy.

    Any idea if they allow kids on the boats? We have a 1.5 year old that will be with us!

    • @PerfectLittlePlanet
      @PerfectLittlePlanet  Рік тому

      Yes, but I suggest you bring your own life jacket. Our boat said they had kids life jackets, but I'm guessing those would have been too big for a toddler. Ask how choppy the water is at Lovers Beach. They'll definitely let you on the boat, but you'll have to decide if it's safe to get the child off at the beach.

    • @PerfectLittlePlanet
      @PerfectLittlePlanet  6 місяців тому

      Yes, there are a few public lots around it. Close to the water taxi docks on the south side of the Marina is a big parking lot - $10 pesos per hour (about US 57 cents).

    • @PerfectLittlePlanet
      @PerfectLittlePlanet  2 роки тому +2

      It's really the name of it. The calm, peaceful, serene side is Lovers Beach. The turbulent, choppy, dangerous side is Divorce Beach. What a great sense of humor they had when they named it, huh?
