I think Andy takes daily "happy pills" to be in such a good mood. Even with breakdowns, he keeps a positive attitude, not yelling, cursing, just a lets get er done attitude. Gotta admire him. Good job sir
He treats people like he wants to be treated, and is better able to keep competent people working WITH him because of that. Nobody wants to be around a temperamental JA. And you see his crew acting like he does. The kids were raised that way, but the non family co-workers are there because of the environment.
Pain in the ass getting underneath equipment in the field to repair it,having a nice workshop to do it on with tools to hand is a blessing great work Andy.
I know it's no comfort but i'd say for the material thats been thru your machine it's done exceptionally well.still cheaper than a new one and no guarantee they won't give fits.i get no satisfaction watching someone breaking down cause i know my turn is a comin.another good video.Thank You Sir.
Hi Andy ! Good job fixing the chopper again ! Alex keeping the freightliner rolling on every job , good job Alex ! Thanks Andy for your time and everybody have a good day at the farm ! 💖🙋♂️
Great video! You did a great job with the nuts. I thought you would have open up that tube, but you just open up enough to fit the nut down and weld it. That was great.
Had the same issue. Created two 5/8" plates with threaded holes were needed. Cut a slot in the front of the tube, slid the plate in and pulled it tight against the inside of the tube and then welded the edge of the of the tube.
Great video Andy. Yes I waved at Lee. A taller shifter for Miss Sara would fix good. You should see about getting that done. Miss Alex have a taller one in her truck?
Andy, After thinking about it, maybe you need TWO Choppers. Less hours on each one, less travel time. Then you can start training your sun or daughter on chopping. I think the investment would be good insurance for the future. I know your thinking: What do I know about your family business, after all I’m just a city boy that became entranced with your blogs. Please take this in good faith, we love what you do. Lee
Thank you! Wondering if you will keep this chopper as a back up. I know it’s expensive but with that many mouths to feed time is of the essence sometimes. Heartland dairy now LaBell There he ran two choppers. Also had the truck though to keep moving it
Alex needs her full name on the truck door - You can give this one up - The A is already there - I do not think anyone else will get a chance to drive her truck. 🤣
Hi Andy Love your videos as not a farmer. You normally blow down the machine each night incase of fires wasn't expecting to see you cutting and welding with hay present. Would the hay have high moisture within that it wouldn't catch fire. Thanks
Switch it to a class Andy and you won’t look back! I know for a die hard Deere guy that’s a hard hit but I’ve seen it both ways been there done that you won’t regret it
Curious ! What did Alex have to say about the,Repainting remark you made of HER Truck !! She looks like a well seasoned Driver ! keeps Her Farm truck Clean !
Captured nuts are great... until they are not. I don't see any advantage to opening up that tube. Little hesitant with the SAE fasteners... but I understand why you went that route.
I have a question, I don’t know much about harvesting haylage but how does the header that does the mowing also work compared to the way you do it by mowing then merging then picking it up
Nice fix many would need help to do it. Question you have some shims and other hardware in a field now. Do you go look for it, so it does not get picked up?
i replaced mine with rivet nuts I stop use the same bolts twice problem has taken a rest on the problem I am sure it going to come back lol always will i am wonder if a solid post with the hole works or if the worst idea to handle the idea my subjection you would not be in this pickle if you never had kids lol sailing in a forgin sea's in enjoying you life dreams then one of your 16 dozen wakes you up lol
Why do you not have an inspection pit in workshop floor Andy ? easier to walk down steps and stand under the harvester rather than crawling under on a skid board
But Andy you cant fix them stripped threads that way! How on earth will the next owner of that chopper ever figure out those are not the appropriate 12mm bolt?????🤣🤣🤣😝
Hey my buddy is looking for floaters and or used floaters and rims. We are in the Elmira area, I will email you when I'm sure the trigger is pulled. 22.5... I'll comment and email and message when sure. Def not SPAM
Typical jd junk. Worked for jd for over 17 years seen more junk go out the door than one could imagine if cost reduction 12mm bolt instead of 16mm bolt jd save $.037 cost customer thousands. Jd did many value added projects in other words cut quality as customer will pay
Andy, since deere has gone woke and gay, plus firing their people and moving to mexico, are you going to keep using them. Appears they are already junk from the amount you have to repair them.
I COULDN'T COPE WITH THE STRESS TRYING TO FIX THAT WITH THE GRASS DRYING OUT FAST !! THAT WOULD DO MY BLOODY HEAD IT + THE HELPERS STOOD AROUND TAKING THE PISS THINKING ITS FUNNY..
Sarah says "Get that camera off me". Lmao 🤣🤣🤣
Alex handles that truck like a seasoned pro ! Good job !
I would go as far as to say she is a seasoned pro
The nice thing about watching someone else’s operation is you don’t have to fix stuff when it breaks.
I enjoy that myself !! lol
*pay

Did you go in from the front?
@@FarmingFixingFabricating No, same direction you were planning. Cut a slot just long and wide enough to slip the plates in at each side.
Enjoyed your video have a great day Andy and everyone. Thanks
Thanks for taking us along. 👊🏻
You Guys run like a well oiled machine. Keep on, keep’n on!
Excellent job fixing your chopper 👍
Andy you are a great father !🎉

That Coronado day cab is a good looking lil truck. So is the truck driver
Cringe AF.
Your fix will be the JD fix. :). Nice work Andy.
Your girls are awesome. Great driving ladies!!!
Great video Andy. Yes I waved at Lee. A taller shifter for Miss Sara would fix good. You should see about getting that done. Miss Alex have a taller one in her truck?
Great chopper repair Andy
Nice fast repair Andy Thanks
Thank you for another Great video. Cheers
Andy, hoping your new facility held well during that storm last week, Rome is a real mess, Art
You are a bear for punishment Andy. Good on you.
Lots of fixing. Great videos. Keep it up Andy

Second chopper would be an expensive insurance policy.
You just have to react quick and get the repairs done.
Thank you! Wondering if you will keep this chopper as a back up. I know it’s expensive but with that many mouths to feed time is of the essence sometimes.

ANOTHER VERY INTERESTING VIDEO THANK YOU ANDY 😊😊😊😊😊😊
you should have invited the guy who was watching inside for a ride-along and made his day
Another day in the life of a farmer!
Hi Andy
Love your videos as not a farmer.
You normally blow down the machine each night incase of fires wasn't expecting to see you cutting and welding with hay present.
Would the hay have high moisture within that it wouldn't catch fire.
Thanks
No it could still catch on fire
I’m a peterbilt guy but that freightliner looks good pulling that mas trailer
The thread repair job looked a right pain in the ass job. All that you need mid season!!
Alex handles that rig pretty good
Wear and tear. You make me missing farming!
ITS NICE TO SEE KIDS THAT WANT TO WORK NOT THE BUNS I SEE
Alex’s truck looks good…Nice lettering…Just an all around sharp truck…Did the guy watching leave you a big box of beer for creeping on you?…Lol
Switch it to a class Andy and you won’t look back! I know for a die hard Deere guy that’s a hard hit but I’ve seen it both ways been there done that you won’t regret it
Really
Necessity is the mother of all invention 👍
Flange nuts work well in situations like that easy weld don't tend to shrink
Flange not wouldn’t be a good option on this repair
great video
Andy. Time to trade it in.
At least today you are not looking like a snowman Andy.
Curious ! What did Alex have to say about the,Repainting remark you made of HER Truck !! She looks like a well seasoned Driver ! keeps Her Farm truck Clean !
Hawk Tuwy just spit on that Thing 😂😂😂

over the years i got good at thread repair
How’s the new barn build coming ?
Nice fix many would need help to do it. Question you have some shims and other hardware in a field now. Do you go look for it, so it does not get picked up?
We looked briefly
i replaced mine with rivet nuts I stop use the same bolts twice problem has taken a rest on the problem I am sure it going to come back lol always will i am wonder if a solid post with the hole works or if the worst idea to handle the idea my subjection you would not be in this pickle if you never had kids lol sailing in a forgin sea's in enjoying you life
dreams then one of your 16 dozen wakes you up lol
do you ever bale up any dry hay for just in case something happens and have no or limited power
Great Vid 👍👍👍👍
Yes it was a good video
8:00 p m your daughter doesn’t have a Saturday night date.
You will probably find them in 3rd cutting.
Some time's you can use Nut cert's.
Why do you not have an inspection pit in workshop floor Andy ? easier to walk down steps and stand under the harvester rather than crawling under on a skid board
We don’t work on enough stuff to warrant having one
Andy you need to hook up with ZK master tech 😀
Does he have a chance to with in choppers?
How much did you have to pay for the Uber ride
But Andy you cant fix them stripped threads that way! How on earth will the next owner of that chopper ever figure out those are not the appropriate 12mm bolt?????🤣🤣🤣😝
I know right
What no critics about HD choppers I'd like to see
A clause 7 year repair history
What is the idea about not having a pit for doing service underneath heavy machinery?
Do you have one
thanks
Why did you make Sarah? Sarah looks so ☺️ Shy I hope she’s OK now. Take care U2.
YOU SHOULD HAVE A PULL TYPE CHOPPER AS A BACK-UP...
I AGREE,, ALL THAT WOULD BE ON MY MIND IS THE GRASS DRYING OUT!!
👍🏿👍🏿
Was that your corn already tassling? Early variety?
Tassling early this year
That rattles like an old ford pickup. Lol
Do you disconnect the battery when you weld on the chopper?
Battery disconnect
What side hill?
Do you have someone doing Fire Watch for you Andy?
I have a good nose
you can use inserrts too
Probably not the best option here
What name brand boot do you wear.
Red wing
@@FarmingFixingFabricating thanks, enjoy your videos
Deere gave up on America give up on Deere
Doesn’t sound like you understand it

You never worked for Deere
Give up on Deere go to fendt
Oh ok
Watch a fendt video
Andy, since deere has gone woke and gay, plus firing their people and moving to mexico, are you going to keep using them. Appears they are already junk from the amount you have to repair them.
Oh
Andy just a question for ya! Do y'all feed your young stock( non milking) alfalfa or canary grass? By the way great video sir! Thanks!
I COULDN'T COPE WITH THE STRESS TRYING TO FIX THAT WITH THE GRASS DRYING OUT FAST !! THAT WOULD DO MY BLOODY HEAD IT + THE HELPERS STOOD AROUND TAKING THE PISS THINKING ITS FUNNY..
They were doing other things
@FarmingFixingFabricating Well done keep going, from a tiny dairy farmer in UK.
How many acres of alfalfa do you harvest. Seems to be a bunch.
Few hundred acres
@@FarmingFixingFabricating LOL you stated 400 plus in one day. It’s gotta be 1,000 plus
👍
