    This was interesting. I’ve never seen videos about men getting breast cancer. I knew about it and I tell my male friends to check their breasts in the shower but they usually give me blank stares.

    Hi. So I found this video very interesting. For years now I've had larger breasts and it's embarrassing. I can feel like something inside my breast but I'm not sure what it is. Feels like a lump inside not really sure. I go to a place called complete care like a clinic but I always see different doctors. I've mentioned it twice to them about how I feel and they tell me it's a muscle and because I'm overweight. But no one has don't anything for me to get it checked out and I feel uneasy about it.

      Thanks for watching and for sharing your story. It is so common for men to have larger breasts and also to feel embarrassment. It sounds like this has been hard. Men with larger breasts are candidates for mammograms. This is not uncommon at all. If you are feeling something, it would be very reasonable to have a mammogram. If the doctor or other member of your medical team is not acting on your concerns, it may be because the finding in the breast is consistent with glandular tissue. Although we don't know your case specifically of course, we would encourage you to be direct and ask if they would consider a mammogram since 1% of breast cancer cases occur in men. We are happy you found this video and are sending good wishes.

      It's common to worry that anything we feel can be cancer. If you continue to be worried, seek out an evaluation from your doctor. If you do not have a regular doctor, there are places to go to be seen, such as community health centers. You can also call the health department in your state to find someone who can see you soon. Wishing you the best.

    that was very interesting- I had a lobular breast cancer back in September and they treated it with chemo because there was a micrometastasis in a lymphnode. I had a mastectomy and margins were clear with no microcalcifications. they found out a have a mutated gene: CDH1. and un unclear mtation on the BRCA , at these days they don't know wether it's pathogenic or not. However I will not have radiation. After that we'll discuss about having my stomach removed. (mutation on CDH1 can result in gastric cancer). I'm quite scared.

      Of course this is frightening. You've received good care, and finding that mutation can help you and your family. I can imagine that it's daunting, however, and hope that you're doing okay

    Hello, I am 13 years old and I noticed a tiny bump under my left nipple. I noticed it a few months ago and I think it’s nothing, but I’m just curious? What do you think?

    • @yerbba
      @yerbba  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for writing. It would be exceedingly rare for this to be related to breast cancer. If it persists, it would be worth having your doctor, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant take a look. Best wishes.

    Well I had my appt today and have to get a 4 quadrant ultrasound on Monday, any suggestions? Do you think perhaps the reason only 1% of men are getting diagnosed since it's not being reported as often?

    • @yerbba
      @yerbba  Рік тому +1

      We are thinking about you as you go through this. Any suggestions will be based on what the ultrasound finds and then a biopsy, if you have one. Male breast cancer is often missed because people are unaware that men can get breast cancer, men are often embarrassed to talk about their breasts, doctors don't expect men to get breast cancer, and men do not usually undergo screening mammograms. There are some exceptions. Men with "gynecomastia," more breast tissue than the average man, will often be advised to have annual screening mammograms.

      @DavesMx6 Рік тому

      Thanks and we're pretty sure it's not gynecomastia. My doctor took the weekend to think it over and scheduled me for a mammogram and the same ultrasound so it got pushed back due to a lack of radiologists here. Said expect an hour a piece and not to wear deodorant lol . Guess it interferes with it @@yerbba

      I'll be goin in on the 5th, and that biopsy does not look fun. Not a fan of needles and that's a biggie
