I saw a post on reddit that made me burst with laughter due to how true it resonates with the whole situation. Basically it was an apology letter to "the best balance team there has ever existed in gaming" at cdpr. It reminded me of the saying you never know the value of something until you lose it lmao.
Gwent has had a balance team? Really? Where the hell have they been for the last 3yrs? It fells like an intern who really likes playing SK & NG just makes cards for those two factions, and half-arses everything else.
@@dannyavery5578who’s mans is this?
Keep comments in English, please. @@xnoorx
I’m still optimistic that this is a learning experience like you said, there are some promising changes in there and hopefully people will see how nerfing a whole archetype is not a good idea
finally a veteran player that is actually saying something that makes sense. idk why tf is every other player thinking emotionally rather than critically. NG getting some undeserved nerfs is bullshit, reavers being killed is utterly insane
Compass at 9p is an awful change because it allows it to be used in golden nekker (which then cheats the provision limit of GN). Not sure if you were playing during the meta with GN ‘pirates’ SK but it was absolutely horrible. Compass will be straight back up to 10 in two weeks trust me.
Compass is buffed because Shinmiri made a balance council thing on reddit, saying we should all vote according to that list so there won't be random buffs or nerfs. but as soon as i saw compass -1 prov i couldnt take it seriously 🤣
@@osmancovut1847this is why I don’t get my opinions from streamers/pro players. They have their own biases just like the rest of us, they aren’t always correct 😅
@@osmancovut1847 I believe that Shinmiri’s impact was overall not so big. The buffs to Siege, AA, Viy and some other’s seem to be coordinated by another community. Especially most NG nerfs seem to be a result of the not coordinated community.
@@thh8985 yeah lots of content creators pushing their favourite decks it seems. Well im just gonna enjoy gwent untill cdpr cancels the balance council and leave the game as it is like they did in the last 6 months of open beta.
Skellige has been strong since forever and it got barely touched
Next month SK gets the treatment, then the game will actually be balanced! Cannot wait.
@@IllusionaryVisionModernWorld Oh we most certainly will ave a game left - a balanced one as well, I cannot wait. Guessing your are a NG & SK player, then!?? There are other Factions you can try, you may be required to not just jam OP cards and win but actually think - but give them a go!
Let the balance council continue for a few more months and there will be no more meta 😂
The challenge lies in addressing balance adjustments in isolation. Often, even a small tweak of 1-2 provision points can have a profound impact on a deck. When a deck undergoes collective nerfs resulting in over 3 or more changes in provisions and power, it can quickly render the deck irrelevant. This has certainly been the case with NG Status and SY Vice.
I'm also unsure about the best way forward, as it would require a significant level of community coordination to target specific cards. One potential solution might be to introduce transparency in the voting process, allowing voters to make more informed decisions, although this approach comes with its own set of challenges.
Alternatively, implementing a limit on the number of changes that can be applied each time could be a welcome step, but it may not entirely eliminate the risk of over-nerfing. Another idea could be to set a maximum limit on the number of changes that can be made to cards with the same tags (or a deck list, while not sure how that can be done from a programming standpoint) in order to prevent excessive buffs or nerfs in a deck list.
While there may not be a one-size-fits-all solution to this problem, it's clear that the community as a whole needs to improve its approach.
It’s tough because people might think different cards needed nerfs. 1 group might think nauzica is fine but slave driver the problem, another might think the opposite but they both get nerfed. Then we have to remember the highest something needs is 50 votes but the lowest is just 17 3 star votes or 25 2 star. I mean getting together 17-25 people to do a change isn’t that tough and different region players seem to play and value cards completely differently. Playing pro rank now everyone playing HEAVY control or 3 games in a row with scorch??? What is even going on😂
Its already devolving into a tit for tat game of ''you wrecked my faction, imma wreck yours next vote'' RIP Gwent.
Slick move by CDPR. Is it too conspiritorial to think that they just let the community destroy Gwent so they can wash their hands of the game and move onto other projects blame free?
The community has proven they can't handle this amount of power. Sheer number of nilfgaard nerfs tells me these guys vote emotionally. Sadly, the game will die by the hands of its own players
well said
As a NG main i feel beaten
Not ideal, but not terrible changes. I think many changes are not to balance things, but just coz people like/dislike playing against archtypes. all hate against reavers :P
NG shenanigans giving ppl PTSD… NG is not even that strong tho
Its not about being strong imo. Its about the toxicity
On one hand, I like how the community is changing cards & how it’ll change/affect the meta. Keeps the game fresh having prolific cards hopping in & out of different metas.
But then again, NG getting all that hate is a liiiiittle unnecessary
Comunist concil 🤤🤤🤤
R.I.P Gwent😢😭😔
I'm not playing Gwent right now, but I have mixed feelings about the changes... Changing provisions on Nilffigard's Cards changes the Jan priority other in deck... But I think people don't care about the order when playing Janie Boy
When I see it, I just think only the Skellig players voted on this changes. The old "no brain faction" got no nerfs at all (and we all know from the beginning of the game, the faction is broken)
especially when a 5p cosair that spawns cataclysm with a total of 12 points without nerf, while a 6p nauzicaa sergent nerfed which only allows to play in r2 or r3
We'll get at SK next voting round, then the game will be balanced.
Nice joke, I forgot that Sove Svalblod Sigvald Kaer Trolde were not SK cards
And comparing Corsair that plays for HIGHLY CONDITIONAL 12 for 5 to the Nausica Slave driver shenanigans playing for 10 for 5 UNCONDITIONAL + assimilate triggers shows how much some NG players and Gwent players (telling people "dumb") only see the game like if it is supposed to be buffed to their favorite deck and nerfs to everything else without even thinking a minute
@@SauronVador Man, I don't play Gwent nowadays, just watch other people playing and everytime I watch, I see SK still being as strong was it was when I played. SK has a lot of broken cards, control cards with a lot of power and other things like that. NG had a lot of nerfs and I think it still has room for more nerfs. One more provision in Viegueforts changes a lot in NG decks and I think it should be more nerfed. The 4 nerfs SK receive (also needed nerfs) are not even close to balance the faction
Yesterday i was looking forward to play some Gwent again, hoping to have a few enjoyable rounds. I realized that all of my decks-yes, I prefer to play Nilfgaard the most-are now quite unusable after going over them. In my opinion the most toxic decks originate from Skellige,...so yeah, good work i suppose. Anyway, after seeing how capable this "balancing community" was, I uninstalled the game. Maybe i am just a butthurt Nilfgurd player...but the game is even "more dead" now than it was.
I quit the game because of the balance result
cya! thanks for letting us all know, as we may have worried.
