Just a thought. Typically you would want the seams to match when they meet with one another. The ridges would typically be capped, so the last few mullions you added would have to be, since it would be covered by the cap. Great video. I knew curtain walls were very powerful. This adds another tool in to the mix.
Awww.... this would have been handy for my 2nd year project if I did this way... wish this video came out a 2 months sooo I wouldve shown my standing seam roof. At least I now know.....
Interesting Strategy. thanks for the tutorial. I used to add these type of details in AutoCAD but this is great to keep things integrated in the Revit model only.
What a simple and elegant solution. Can see myself using this, a lot, although a different method of ridge capping should be investigated to complete the whole task properly.
This looks good in renderings and okay in elevations, although it doesn’t work in detailed elevations or sections. Is there not a way to edit the layers of a roof. Similar to how you would a wall?
make a mullion profile that matches the profile of a ridge cap and then apply that mullion to the grid line. it may take some trial and error to get it to line up correctly since the mullions at the ridges come in at an angle like he mentioned
Thank you Balkan Architect. Is there a way of improving the innovation by having the mullions not staggered at the hips and ridge but lined up like the sheets are normally laid on site?
Thanks for the great tutorial. I have one issue though, I don't have the option to add empty curtain panels. I'm running UK version Revit 2022. Any thoughts?
It's so interested and clear tutorial, but the process is too long. I will be very grateful if you can make it a little bit short for easy leaning. Thank you.
Hi I'm new to revit, I have a question if I built a roof like that can the roof seem be counted out/excluded in the BOM/BOQ of the roof, if its included it will be categorize as roof will that be considered as double count.

Very nice tutorial about the standing seams but to be more realistic I want to make some ridge rolls, what is the quickest way to make a roof ridge roll @BalkanArchitect

Perfect timing Balkan, I've just designed a residential project with a gambrel roof 70º x 35º that will use standing seam, thanks for the tip!
Great solution. Thank you! I will certainly be using that one. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you. Great video!
I've learned so much from you.
Thank You Balkin Architect...I learned and continue to learn a lot from your videos.
I'm working on a job right now, with this sort of roof. Thanks, I'll use this method!

that's a clever method. I'm gonna start using this. Thanks!
Its really good tutorial ......excellent tricks..regularly I am watching ur tutorials...really very useful 👌 thanks
Thank you! This is much better than a matarial pattern hatch!

Nice format of startup :) I always place the rendering (by Lumion) of project in the starting view XD

thats a perfect method
very good tutorial
great.. very easy understand for me..
bravo
THANK YOU!!

Great. That's the roof I need. Thank you.
Question: I want a ridge vent and cap. How can I do that.

Balkan Can you do a separate model of a German roof in Revit please?
Thank you Balkan Architect. Is there a way of improving the innovation by having the mullions not staggered at the hips and ridge but lined up like the sheets are normally laid on site?
Ùse the align tool and select the mullion grid or ùse move tool to shift the grid òf the mullions
Great one
Desde Colombia, gracias

Would be able to do draw up a basic green roof detail and the essential elements to be added for a green roof

Hi! I loved this solution, any idea why my mullions don´t get to the border of the roof?
Thanks you! I don't have the option to add empty curtain, how can i do?
im currently trying to do this but I ger a line too short error when pasting onto the same place what am I doing wrong or what is the fix for this
hi
what about ''Revit '' and '' form it '' interoperability to create mass and many more ?

How would you add ridge capping to this roof?
Custom Component
How to display metal roof texture?
