My all time favorite player. He was my idol growing up in the 70s as a young boy and Pete Rose... was...and still is the greatest player.
Tenacity and determination like no other!
    Charlie Hustle...

My VERY first taste of baseball came as a ten-year-old in northeast Ohio in 1975, that was the year the Cincinnati Reds played the Boston Red Sox and through this I got to see Pete Rose for the first time and my love affair with baseball started. Now as I am almost sixty, Pete Rose WITHOUT a doubt is my FAVORITE player. You'd be hard pressed to find a player with better fundamentals, situational awareness and overall knowledge of the game than he had. He was also my inspiration to become a switch batter. Luckily, I met him also here in Las Vegas.

I have followed Pete Rose since he broke in 1963 listened on a transistor radio. Without a doubt the greatest ball player in History except Babe Ruth. An all star at 5 positions. No one will come close to his records & inspiration!

Difference is not talent; Mike is as talented as Willie. Mickey Mantle was more talented than either, maybe the most talented along with Ohtani/Ruth ever. The difference is Willie never got hurt and Mike just like Mickey stays hurt. If Mike stayed healthy, he would have numbers as good or better than Mays, check it out. Hr.'s/Game, Hits/Game, Runs Scored/Game all very similar. Also thru 1st 10 years Mike is dead even or better than Willie in the W.A.R. category. The Difference is Willie stayed healthy.
