Hvitserk was always in the shadows of his brother and yet, in his own way, he was vital to telling the saga of the Lothbroks. His character is one of my favorites, I love a good struggle and to see how he grew into the man of the final episodes of season 6 is beautiful.
"Life is a bridge." Many people can say that after Ragnar's death, only Björn and Ivar did the show. But I don't agree with that! For me, Hvitserk was a special and very interesting character. He is very similar to Rollo, has come a long and thorny path. Very emotional video brother.
I agree, Ragnar was kind of a knob a lot of the time and his sons did a really good job carrying the story on, maybe even better than the first 4 seasons
Well it's actually d truth Ivar n Bjorn gave it life infact all of em did a great job they re obviously d sons of Ragnar It's just sad dat he would never see Ubbe again
Hvitserk's character is far too underrated. I love him so much and his duality is truly interesting, he's fierce and vulnerable at the same time. He was lost for so long but he's finally found himself. I hoped he would find peace, maybe he did in some way. I'm glad he survived, he deserved it after all he's been through. And his brotherhood with Ivar... the best of the show. I love your edits, great job !
People think Hvitserk is a great mistake, but if you look at him he had the hardest life of all of them, he killed the mother of Björn (he didnt want to kill her), he was a alcoholic, he watched his brother die and guess who is the only one who lived long and great. Hvitserk Ragnarsson. Hvitserk was the only who took all the pain and came out perfectly. I salute you, Hvitserk❤.
Not to mention every woman he loved died painful deaths. He never acomploshed the fame the others did. And rightfuly so felt abadoned/hated by the gods. In the end a goddess herself came down to see him. And he even was named a prince. Thus leading the hardest most pain filled life of the bfothers. But got the biggest reeard in the end because he made it through all this a man that found himself.
Someone mentioned that Hvitserk is the 9th century Millennial. This must be why he's my favorite character. The thing is, I don't exactly know why he's my favorite character. I can say though, that he turns into a straight beast during his fight scenes.
I really love his character. Unlike the other sons of Ragnar, Hvitserk just can't seem to find a place where he truly belongs, and I think that's why it's so easy to sympathize with him. I only wish his screen time was more comparable to Ubbe/Ivar. And yes, his fight scenes never disappointed haha
@@Jessislegend Well said. I also noticed a few trends that set me against the other characters. I felt all of Ragnars sons tried too hard to be him, with exception of Ivar and Hvitserk. Ubbe tried too hard not to be ambitious, although his character grew on me because of his love for Hvitserk 😄. Bjorn tried too hard to Mimic his father, and in my opinion was average. I’d even argue that he was Rollo’s son. Snake in the eye died so fast, it was a pity. Ivar had a lot to prove, and although he loved his father he wanted to make his own name but I never sensed that he wanted to be him. Hvitserk was himself through and through, he never tried to be Ragnar, where I think the others seemed to find themselves. He struggled to find himself, although most would expect for him to be like his father. He was a lover, a fighter, and, if he tried, he was intelligent. He was also humble and I think that’s why he is my favorite character. He was a deep thinker, although he played as if he weren’t one. The ending was great and it all made sense.
This is such a beautiful edit on one of the most underrated characters of Vikings. Hvitserk deserved much better. You did a wonderful job with this edit, Jess!
Amazing Jess! I think you really understood the relationship he had with his brothers. Also good music choice, this was a very emotionnal. Thank you for this edit.
I like how all of Ragnar Sons were Fleshed out components of his Personality. Hvitserk was what Ragnar would have been if he embraced his Addictive Nature. Just kinda goes to show that Ragnar really had to leave the Farm and become his own man or his "curiosity" would have crippled him
Hvitserk believed it to be fated that they would stay together and he would be the one to kill Ivar.. but in the end, Ivar died in his arms as Hvitserk told him he would never be forgotten 😭
Feels good to see the evolution of Hvitserks personality, so fragile and yet so strong, always somehow invisible and yet very present. I'd like to know what became of him after Ivars death, was he the youngest of Ragnars sons or was it Sigurd?
Thank you!! I'm happy you liked that part haha. I really think someone could make a full video paralleling hvitserk and rollo. They have very similar arcs for the most part
Recently I read a theory that Othere [Athelstan] could be Hvitserk. When you put puzzle pieces together, it sounds accurate. I wonder if you could make possible Fan Theory video out of it. I think Hvitserk's storyline was really dramatic, epic and interesting and you made a wonderful job by doing your edit videos.
He was a great character and they should have revealed a better ending for him. His fate...his purpose. Not have him go back to Wessex and libe out his life...to bad he didn't find Ubbe at the end.
Another amazing video from you, good work! I have a question how can I reach out to you, through social media or something, because I have something to ask you in private?
The only bad thing they did with Hvitserk was to make him convert to Christianity. Well, he is Ragnar's son and Ubba's brother, after all. Given time, he will likely abandon the cross and reach for Thor's Hammer once more.
i think like the way when hvitserk was alive and keep safe by the gods. i think not the gods of good but the god of evil keep him alive to kill levria and makeing the campion of chaos like the dark gods. the dark use ivar and hvitserk like pawns in a game. one will live and one who will die and those who will be giveing inmoreoty to live for ever
I would never forgive Ivar for killing Hvitserk girlfriend. Ivar's death for me was a relief, He ruined the relationships of all of his brothers first by killing sigurd. Indeed power does corrupt you, i noticed how ubbe in season 6 distanced himself from having power by just exploring and achieving his father's unfinished ambitions.
Ivar realized his mistakes n he paid for it u re actually d first person yet not to feel emotional about Ivar's death Even if he was hated a movie n emotions lover would be moved
I understand why He lost his Religion to Odin,in the last Serie,He Lose all(no brothers no wife no kids and his last brother dies in his hands) and that was the reason!!!⭐️🌙
Most underrated character in the whole show ngl.

You are right
Facts
No that was Sigurd
@@TheGallant9 Sigurd was great as a kid. He was annoying as a man
He has more fighting scene than all the brothers
So true
Not more than Björn, but Hvitserk is ah verry good and nice fighter

He was underrated af, the most real character of them all
Hvitserk was his father, uncle, brothers, athelstan and Floki
The most underrated character along with Torvi and Helga

Thank you! And I totally agree with you. Hvitserk was always one of my favorites even though he hardly was in the spotlight.
His Arc in Season 6 was 🔥
He was a true warrior he never tired in battle

Hvitserk did all the hard decisions just for Ivar
Yeah he carried Ivar when it came to actually fighting in battles
Great parallel with Rollo! Awesome work on Hvitserk and his brothers relationship too. Very nicely done for such an intriguing character! :)
There are so many similarities between Hvitserk and Rollo, I'm glad that you liked what I did for them. Thank you my friend!! :)

Nope, Bjorn was.
