This song was the first single off their 4th album and was released as a 'visualizer'. It's very cool.
I think Divine Attack doesn't get recommended enough because it got overplayed a little while waiting for the rest of the 4th album. But it's a great song.

One thing you will realize as you listen to them more is just how different their sound is across their entire discography. They hit a lot of genres of metal, with their own twist on the music. I recommend Road of Resistance at PIA Arena set of concerts held in April. However, I would also recommend Karate, From Dusk Till Dawn, Brand New Day, and Syncopation, all from Budokan 2021 concerts which are all on For The Fox God.

Great reaction again. It was Su-metal's birthday yesterday (20th Dec), so something special about her and this song.
She liked this so much when she first heard the demo. It reminded her of one of her own favourite songs, 'Road of Resistance' from their second album, and she said she wanted to write the lyrics. That is exactly what she did, so for the first time she is officially credited with writing the lyrics for one of their songs.
I think I saw in the comments below that you have recorded a reaction for 'Headbanger' already ... I'll look forward to that, it should be fun. There are a couple of "special occasion" alternative versions of 'Headbanger' too:
- There is an EDM house music version (Night of 15 Remix) they played for Su-metal's 15th birthday in 2012 and that they used to open the show at her 16th birthday (Legend 1997 - I am hoping you watched the traditional live version from later in that same concert for your reaction); and
- At concerts on or near their own 15th birthdays in 2014 Yuimetal (in Paris) and Moametal (in Cologne) took over lead vocals half way through the song. Only fancam videos exist for those, but in 2019 we got Moametal's 20th birthday version (Moabanger) where she again took over lead vocals for the second half of the song while Su took her place in the choreo. This one is on the Legend M BluRay.

This was the 1st single out of five released in October last year, part of the new album "The Other One" released later in March this year, and is totally a banger. SuMetal got the lyrics credits on this and all of us are proud and happy she reached one of her dreams. She totally rocks!❤️

"Divine Attack - Shingeki" got some drum&bass combined with the heavy riffs of metal sound.
They're giving us a new lore and a metalverse with 10 different worlds and songs that are connected in this concept album.
We can say that this song carry the spirit and message of songs like Road Of Resistance but this is more like a call to arms and fight for your future.
This footage was taken from BabyMetal Begins - The Other One Clear Night, PIA Arena MM, Yokohama in April 2nd although the official live MV doesn't have this extended intro (i suggest you to check it out that version and give the like and view over there if you like this song), the Black Night took place in April 1st and you can see that clip in MAYA official live MV. This was the first night with MomoMetal as the new official member, the night prior to this they're wearing the old battle dress from Metal Galaxy era while in this you can see them with the new iridiscent costume. MomoMetal (Momoko Okazaki) was one of the three avengers (or backup dancers part of the lore) since 2019, remember YuiMetal (former member now) left the group in 2018 officially. We all proud of MomoMetal being finally part of this group.
The Western Kami Band members on this are: Chris Kelly and CJ Masciantonio on guitars, Clint Tustin on bass and Anthony Barone on drums. During recent World Tour they switched bassist with a new one called Ryan Neff (from As I Lay Dying).
There is an official visualizer with the album studio sound released the same day in October and you can see only the two of them back then, these new shows on DVD/BD they're promoting are part of this historical event when MomoMetal was crowned as the third official member.

Btw today December 20th (Western time) we're celebrating SuMetal's birthday, and this song fits perfectly to honor her special b'day since like i said it's the first time she got the lyrics credits on a song.

🦊🤘 I Love divine attack, the strings, the synth... Man it would be amazing if in their next album they do more classical mixed stuff, and even collab with a POWER METAL focused band, that would be crazy as they do some very unexpected collabs.
I'm definitely a big fan of incorporating orchestral music and instruments in metal. I like to add those elements also in my own productions. Adds so much weight and depth to songs. Thanks for watch 🤘

And you just have proven my theory about subtitles on BABYMETAL videos: they are totally useless, haha... I prefer watching the performance (which is already overwhelming) and then search for a good translation from a reliable source.
"Divine Attack" is another of my favorite songs from The Other ONE. And it's a great song with a lot of cool elements like the drum n' bass sections, a smooth drive, some heavy riffing, an orchestral touch and Su-metal's amazing vocals, of course. Not to mention she wrote the lyrics on this one for the first time. Well deserved "t-pose" in the end of this video. She's a rockstar!
This live video is from a Blu-ray of the show: BABYMETAL Begins The Other ONE, Clear Night, filmed at PIA Arena MM in Yokohama. So, it's basically perfection on visuals and audio.

A couple of helpful tips, in case it was ‘t mentioned before:
1). For The Fox God channel is excellent!
2). Avoid compilations if possible
3). Official Live video from Babymetal are usually live with Studio audio over. Live sound always better because Kami Band, (they are not the ones on Studio audio).

@@ADistortedPerception NP! While there are solid compilations, they’re not preferred. However, for certain songs, maybe the only option due to copyright issues on UA-cam.
If you end up doing one, check description, good ones display video and audio source (e.g., which concert, etc).
I know I am a bit late commenting on this, but one thing I have noticed about this album is it truly exercises the principle of “strength in simplicity” and you will notice it as you continue on through this album. Most songs on the album don’t have grand guitar solos or breakdowns in most bridges, and when they do, it serves as a highlight of the song itself. The songs usually have 1 or 2 highlight elements (generalising of course). One almost always being Su’s vocals and catchy choruses, sense this album truly explores her vocal abilities. This song in particular definitely has the high energy, epic, symphonic opera vibe as a major element of it. The break at the bridge adds a bit of reprieve before going back into the chorus, it helps break the monotony without detracting from the overall vibe of the song. I think the purpose behind this is it gives you just enough to want more, but doesn’t satisfy it. Because this album is merely closing out a saga in Babymetal’s history and ushering in a new era. Just my observation.
So about the Kami Band, there are 2 different Kami Bands since the 2019 US & EU tour.
Eastern Kami Band is the one you saw, they mainly do Japanese shows
Western Kami Band has US musicians, and they usually use them to do EU & US tour since 2019
Before 2019 it was always Eastern Kami Band! In 2023 they used the Western in all performances except the first show in January, i guess because a few members of the Eastern Kami Band had to get some surgeries.

@@ADistortedPerception It's no problem, not your fault. That wiki hasn't updated in years, so I guess it's ultimately the fandom's fault for not updating it. The western Kami band has been the most used band since 2019 when it was formed, and they started dedicating a lot of time to world tours. The eastern one still played with them in Japanese shows, and was most recently played with them in the January Returns concert. However, since April, it's been nothing but the western band, even for Japanese shows, for whatever reason.
A lot of the time they do the long intros so the can have a drink of water and refresh. BM shows are just back to back high energy songs and would be hard for them to get through without it.

Yeah with all the stuff going on visually in their videos it's hard to absorb it while also keeping up with the subtitles. One reactor had the idea of reading the translated lyrics first to get an idea of the theme of the song and then watching the video so as not to get their attention so divided, which I thought was clever for foreign language songs.
