The room is perfect. Quiet, restful, and I cannot imagine any man having an issue with the beautiful color. Once I was a docent in a design house. I was assigned to the room that was pink. I noticed a lot of positive comments and people asked the name of the color. At the end of the day, I realized people really look well in pink rooms. It flatters skin tone. I agree that pink can be way too sweet. But if you get the right color it's really a wonderful thing.

@@NicolasFairford you might be surprised to know that PINK was actually the colour for boys, I don't know when it became blue for boy and pink for girls. At the end of the day it should be any colour you like.
I painted my last bedroom a pale pink that was so subtle that it almost looked grey, I absolutely loved it, it glowed gently at night. Maybe it is the colour repro, but that wall colour on my TV looks more peach or almost tan. But still a very lovely colour. 🇦🇺

Great tip of how a warm undertone of yellow lends a masculine feel to the color pink. Loved your accent colors in the linens and upholstery, too. My question for next weeks Q and A is: in decorating a room, do you start with the flooring, upholstery colors and patterns or the wall color? And.... how do you feel about wallpaper?

You are so right about investing in high quality linen. I still have linens from my great-great-grandmother, they are over 100 years old but they are still in such good condition. Good quality really pays off! 💟

I absolutely love Frette. I have been to Italy three times with friends and my one son in his 20’s. It was then I learned about Frette. My son is 48 now and thanks us so much for bringing him back to earth after experiencing the challenges of using. I thank the powers that be that I followed my instincts ❤️🌈🥰👍🏼
A simply gorgeous room! My husband and I have a pink bedroom that we love. It is filled with floral art and roses our favorite flower. People do seem surprised that He would sleep in a pink room, but you are right the shade of pink is what makes it. Adore the bedding too!

I hope you are putting all these projects together for a future book on decorating. The pink 02 does not actually read "pinkish" to the eye. It's more like a warm pink with peach undertones. Very nicely done. I love how the mirror by the window gives you privacy and at the same time hides that house. I also love that you moved the pillows from the bench later on to the bed pillows. That makes it look much better. Put the focus on the bed.

I have a beautiful bedroom. When I lost my partner suddenly, my small house was full. My porches, deck and amazingly a lot of us, friends, coworkers, inlaws relatives piled up on my big bed and it was the most natural thing ever. Everyone commented that the bedroom was so peaceful. It was a sad day, but a warm and lovely memory.

I love the shade of gray you used on your bedside dresser as well ... the contrast with the pink is so soft yet very striking. lampshade change is like changing the jewelry for the room! Delightful Nicholas. A lovely room. Could I make a suggestion? You could have a spare set of pillows with plenty of filling to really fill out the pillow case. If you starch the pillow case it helps the edges of the pillows stand a little better. These pillows are removed at night and the ones you use will become creased in a day or two. With the spare set of pillows your bed will always look crisp. I love it that you care so much and hope you won't be offended by me making a suggestion. Look forward to another of your videos.
You remind me of me when I was in design school. I'm 72 yo now. I too did not come from wealth or fame, but a good honest hard working family with good values. Life took me far and to many places (all over USA, Europe, UK, Asia, Canada, and Mexico) introducing me to many people and many nice things. I am very thankful for what my career gave me, and I feel blessed to have met and worked with so many talented and stimulating people. I enjoyed this post. However I want to rebut your statement at the end which you said it was "simple and easy". It actually took a lot of forethought and planning and heavy lifting to accomplish what you did. You were able to turn a rather unremarkable room into a soothing quietly elegant sanctuary. Just enough design flair to create a restful cozy environment. The reworking of the sidetables was great and I love the idea of the faux canopy. Well done.

I love the shade of gray you used on your bedside dresser as well ... the contrast with the pink is so soft yet very striking. lampshade change is like changing the jewelry for the room! Delightful Nicholas. A lovely room. Could I make a suggestion? You could have a spare set of pillows with plenty of filling to really fill out the pillow case. If you starch the pillow case it helps the edges of the pillows stand a little better. These pillows are removed at night and the ones you use will become creased in a day or two. With the spare set of pillows your bed will always look crisp. I love it that you care so much and hope you won't be offended by me making a suggestion. Look forward to another of your videos.

You remind me of me when I was in design school. I'm 72 yo now. I too did not come from wealth or fame, but a good honest hard working family with good values. Life took me far and to many places (all over USA, Europe, UK, Asia, Canada, and Mexico) introducing me to many people and many nice things. I am very thankful for what my career gave me, and I feel blessed to have met and worked with so many talented and stimulating people. Funny, I still feel like that young man in art, design and architecture schools back too many years ago.

I enjoyed this post. However I want to rebut your statement at the end which you said it was "simple and easy". It actually took a lot of forethought and planning and heavy lifting to accomplish what you did. You were able to turn a rather unremarkable room into a soothing quietly elegant sanctuary. Just enough design flair to create a restful cozy environment. The reworking of the sidetables was great and I love the idea of the faux canopy. Well done.

That room is stunning. Really, I never would have thought of that as pink, and quite frankly, I'd choose the same color. I'll bet that room look so beautiful at night with the low lighting. For me, great lighting in a home is everything.
