    Bio and publications
    Bio
    Farley S. Nobre holds a Ph.D. and two Visiting Fellowships in Industrial Engineering from the University of Birmingham (UK), as well as a thesis about cognitive machines (AI) in organizations. During his Ph.D., he was a guest with the artificial intelligence research group at the Humboldt-University of Berlin and participated in the ARMMS Network (Agile reconfigurable manufacturing machinery systems). Farley’s Ph.D. thesis in 2005 was novel and original, contributing to advancing a nexus between AI and organization research with implications for smart factories. Previously, he was a software engineer at NEC Corporation and implemented software capability maturity models at the enterprise. He also holds an M.Sc. in artificial intelligence systems and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.
    Today, he is an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Paraná, Curitiba (BR). His research focuses on sustainability, entrepreneurship, and artificial intelligence. He and colleagues at the University of Birmingham authored the following books:
