Oh if this was an televised episode, I can literally see Peter Lorre saying his lines with his infamous very sinister smile, in such calmness he creates terror into people's mind. Brilliant episode and what a brilliant actor he was. RIP legend 🙏
The "Peter Lorre" you heard in the Bugs Bunny cartoons was actually done by Paul Frees. Paul later introduced Suspense. He was also the voices of Boris Badenoff on Rocky and Bullwinkle and Ludwig Von Drake for Walt Disney...among many others.
What's the one where the husband steals slips from the prescription pad and writes them for morphine and tries to poison his wife, but it doesn't work. This goes on for a week but it just doesn't work. So he poisons himself then tries to ax the wife but winds up dying. It was later revealed that the wife died a year ago due to child birth. I thought that this was this one, but isn't. I heard it this morning and thought for sure the host said you've been listening to til death do us part.
Someone needs to brush up on their history. The US declared war on Japan on Dec 8th and on Dec 11th, Germany and Italy declared war on the United States.

Good twist in the end.
Love Lorre.
Love Lorre in almost everything he does; his characters in the Jonny Dollar series are my favorites.

Uff I wish they would have left politics out of it. "We just declared war against Germany and Italy. Glory glory hallelujah!" SO awkward!
would it be the same if they left issues out of law and order or something
Nothing awkward about that at all.
Don't understand Craig's last comment.
