okay, but imagine this: - the moodlet system is changed slightly to include all kinds of floor-dirt - the floor is perfectly clean. everyone is inspired - the dad pisses himself. there is a puddle on the floor - the puddle counts as one unit of dirt - now everyone is happy because "someone lives here"
The funniest part is that they recently had a sale and this pack wasn’t included 😂 like they are so cheap just give it away for free at this point it’s already broken smh 🤦🏽♀️
I haven’t played the sims in two years now and don’t plan going back. I hope Paralives turns out as nice as it seems and I hope EA doesn’t try to mess with them.
They have to fix this one I think... but you never know. They rarely go back in and fix anything, no matter how bad it is. They just leave it broken and move on to the next crap they can sell.
It also gets dusty WAY too fast. I had to vacuum my house several times a day in order to keep the floors relatively clean, it's so irritating. I hired a butler and a maid and they couldn't even keep up. My house isn't even that big - it's two bedrooms and doesn't have an upstairs. I've disabled the pack as well for all the reasons you mentioned too. Such a disappointment.
Thank you for this video. Many of us were under the impression that this pack was fixed. It's a shame because as stated, it can be a decent pack. I hope EA watches and takes notes because you gave clear (and easy) solutions. If anything, they can at least give the option to toggle the money aspect of the Kit.
Really enjoy these videos where you go in depth on the features. Can't wait to see what you learn about the next pack too. It makes playing a little less confusing sometimes.
The inspired buff all day long is really annoying but the animations all the time is what made me turn it off. This pack being considered fixed is embarrassing.
Am I the only one who thinks laundry day and bust the dust should just be a stuff/game pack together? Just make a cleaning pack where you can do ALL OF THIS.
I feel like I'm listening to the mid stages of a breakup where you're still trying to question things and you can't justify any of this nonsense anymore. Also, dust bunny sugar daddies.... Well, I guess it's better than locking Geoffrey Landgraab in your basement??
Yikes! This brings back memories of the early days of the Sims 4. I don't remember the bug, vaguely remember it being Grim Reaper related, but it took 5 or 6 patches to fix it. Every patch that came out, they said "we fixed it" and it wasn't fixed. After all the "fixes" we've gotten over the years, I have no faith this will be fixed. After they try a couple times, they'll give up and move on like they did with countless other packs. Spaghetti code claims another feature.
It's seriously heartbreaking when you look at this for what is really is. Like... it's not just like some new objects are "annoying" or have "bad swatches", this is literally game breaking stuff that is being allowed to be put out simply because the current TS4 team is THAT incompetent and carele$$. It's beyond my comprehension.
Okay so I have a sim family of 2 (brother and sister since their mother passed) and the brother does wonderfully with the vacuum! He doesn’t use it all the time and he rarely has to use it a lot. The sister, on the other hand, made me sell her vacuum because she vacuumed everywhere and EVERYTHING. She legit started vacuuming the spa while she was there 😭 I just get her responsibility up by doing hw and dishes 😂
I’ve never thought of that. I kinda turned it off and forgot about it. You make a good point. If peeing themselves makes them filthy, it should now also make the floor filthy. Integration between packs is sub par at best. We should also have strays in the city, be able to jet ski around the bluffs and swim in any body of water. Etc 😊
I had to use cheats and self tracking to complete the dust aspirations since how dusty your house is is tied to how tense your sim is rather than how dusty your house is. My sim can't get tense so that is bananas
Thanks for confirming all of this, Carl. I strongly suspected that the pack was still mostly broken, but it's good to know for sure. Looks like I'm going to be skipping this one, likely forever.
It's not only that. It's never give me empty vacuum when it's full. You can't use full vacuum, but when you try to empty it's just glitch and do nothing. So you end up just buying new vacuum every time 😫🤦
This makes me so glad I didn't purchase any of those kits when they were first released. My game already goes off the rails whenever they update the game (ex. one family I play with won't use a certain set of stairs EVEN THOUGH there is nothing blocking the path, no 'incorrect' build mode placement etc) so I can only imagine how frustrated I'd be with dust bunny bugs and the like. *sigh*
I wonder if the sims team ever really listen to what you have to say in these videos... Every time you make a video I come away from it agreeing with everything you say and yet nothing seems to happen? And patch updates are often only a half-fix of the problems... Have you ever been acknowledged by the sims team for your *extremely valuable* feedback??
It's pretty simple. The sims team can release a half-assed game and people will pay top dollar for it. Why would they put in the work to actually fix anything? As long as people are buying the game they couldn't care less.
Now that I discovered your channel I subconsciously read all your articles in your voice! I was just doing that and it made me laugh - thanks for helping me out so much!
Actually, with the decorated moodlets, they added an industrial rating to some wallpapers, roof tiles and items with Eco Lifestyle. I found this out by accident. I built a lovely home for a couple and made it very modern, industrial looking, using a lot of exposed brick wallpapers. My sims were immediately uncomfortable with the home as soon as they set foot in it. I got so frustrated with them at one point I actually demolished the house on them and made them pee themselves (yeah, I was PMSing). The woman died from embarassment so I had to quickly exit without saving as I kinda felt bad. I then noticed the industrial rating, changed the wallpapers to those without that rating and instantly, my sims were happy with their home. I've since learned if you use industrial rated items such as wallpapers, you need to make sure they are balanced out with decorations with an environment rating. You need to check the industrial rating of the wallpaper and add up the total. Example, a 5 tile wall with a rating 1 industrial wallpaper needs to be balanced out with decor that totals at least 6 in environment rating. Also, floor tiles count too, many of them have industrial ratings but most are the kind you'd use outdoors anyway. I've been using this system for a few months now and my sims never get the badly decorated mood anymore. It also appears to be why your sim can get the nicely decorated moodlet even when there are no decorations. You used the right wallpaper. This system is also room based so if you have one room where the industrial rating is higher than the environment rating, you sim will get the badly decorated moodlet, but if they then go into another room where the enviroment rating is higher than the industrial rating, the moodlet will change to nicely decorated. This is why they the moodlets can swing back and forth and appear completely random. I still have Bust the Dust disabled. I noticed the dust does accumulate much slower, but yep, they haven't fixed the excessive simoleons yet. I believe it's with the next update. I think the random added simoleons should equal that of the pennie pixies lot trait, just a few every day or so. Bunnies should only be asked to find goodies once a day, with a limit of around 50ish simoleons. I also think the kit should be more like Laundry Day. By that, if there is no vacuum in the house, no dust should accumulate.

my sim: WHO THE F..CK MADE THIS MESS?!
repeat it so many times
Yeah i disabled the kit. It was effing annoying.
My sims turned into crazies obsessed with vacuuming.
Does EA even have testers. Really bad job.
Yeah I really wish it was just a minor reward when clean and dirty makes sims feel uncomfortable. It'd add more realism and that is more important than all this dust bunny stuff. It was clearly untested. No way they should've launched like they did. Now they have even more to fix.
@@CarlsSimGuides _IF_ they even fix it. Their running did nothing other than fix the turn off button which I finally was able to use to disable the kit 🤔
Like you said, it has potential. Just very badly executed.
And even with the kit disabled, my sims want to clean already clean objects like bathtubs.
My sims with vacuums in their inventory started vacuuming the museum, the bars and even the temples in Selvadorada.
Every random person playing this game for 15 minutes will recognize this weirdness.
The "this is a tiny house, yup" idle animation from tiny house lots is another one that interrupts things or occurs for no good reason... and TODDLERS do it too, which they're clearly not supposed to, because they get temporarily freaky-stretched-out during the animation.
I'm so tired from this BS, they only care about making money, quantity over quality.
Duh. ALL businesses are in the business of making money, period. If they could do it without providing goods or services, they would. The goods/services are just a means to an end. It's up to the consumer (us) to decide whether those goods/services are worth paying for. Because we've been paying for poor quality, they simply keep providing it.
Not even quantity is justified, they may add more Sims 4 game and stuff pack, but it come with less content than in the previous game.
Can we also talk about the fact that none of my plants make harvestebles, and after three days, they die?
YES. I was so excited when this was FINALLY included in a patch a few months ago as “fixed.” But they literally didn’t fix it even though they said they did. That, with a bunch of other errors. 🙄
@@aurelie8220 its my favorite way to play the game, its HOW I play the game, and its just gone... i hate it now!
@@yoboomblooob - Ugh, that would really take the cake. Mine are resetting to just-planted stage whether they are sheltered, not sheltered, in-season, or out of season, and the reset usually happens around the first or second day of a new season. I've been using cheats to reset the sheltered ones to "blooming" stage cuz ain't nobody got time for that.
My maid doesn't even clean up the dust
My pet peeve about this is forgetting to take the vacuum out of my Sim's inventory and then she vacuums everywhere. Gym, Restaurant, Library ...UGH!
I’m SO glad I waited on reviews for Bust the Dust. I was going to buy it for more chores my sims could do, but thank god I didn’t.
At this point, it's insulting. I feel like an idiot for continuing to give EA my money. It's like they are challenging themselves to put out worse and worse quality to see if we will actually still buy it. And we do. I feel had. 😔
Stop buying stuff and just go back to older sims games lol
Yeah I agree with the last two commenters, you don't need to buy this stuff at all - vote with your wallet xx
okay, but imagine this:
- the moodlet system is changed slightly to include all kinds of floor-dirt
- the floor is perfectly clean. everyone is inspired
- the dad pisses himself. there is a puddle on the floor
- the puddle counts as one unit of dirt
- now everyone is happy because "someone lives here"
Tbh the whole game with every expansions are not tied together
Nearly 7 years and the game feels so empty and mundane. Absolutely amazing 🤩
The funniest part is that they recently had a sale and this pack wasn’t included 😂 like they are so cheap just give it away for free at this point it’s already broken smh 🤦🏽♀️
I love that Carl can’t stop laughing when he does these because the whole game is so broken
Conspiracy theory: the sims team made it this bad as a cry for help. They're being held captive by EA
Lol FULL capital punishment for their crimes!
@thedegenerateotaku you know how many people work on the sims team now?
I haven’t played the sims in two years now and don’t plan going back. I hope Paralives turns out as nice as it seems and I hope EA doesn’t try to mess with them.
This is why I'm not buying this pack! It's also WAY too expensive here in the UK.
That describes Sims 4 in its' entirety, no?
@@ThieflyChap Not for me
They have to fix this one I think... but you never know. They rarely go back in and fix anything, no matter how bad it is. They just leave it broken and move on to the next crap they can sell.
Yup. dine out still broken so I doubt they’ll fix this
The fact that they charged 5$ for a broken pack...
Long term resolution: fire the CEO and the head of the software Dept.
The fact such a tiny pack has so many issues is very concerning. Also, was the pack playtested at all?
Liked the video for the phrase "dust bunny sugar daddy" alone :P
(I don't have the pack, and now I know why I don't have the pack)
As I was watching this video I noticed a dust bunny spawned in near a door and the door got deleted 🙃 thank you Sims
By the way, lilsimsie also found a Jungle Adventure (I think) treasure that was worth 10k.
Thank you for this video. Many of us were under the impression that this pack was fixed. It's a shame because as stated, it can be a decent pack. I hope EA watches and takes notes because you gave clear (and easy) solutions. If anything, they can at least give the option to toggle the money aspect of the Kit.
Thanks a lot. To be honest though, what saddens me is it didnt take much thought to see a better path forward.
Alternate Title: *The Sims 4 still has a lot of problems*
Wait, does the sim just stand in the same place while cleaning all the house?
They go to individual rooms to clean (as defined by the game). But yes once there they do one spot.
I wish I had the cash to support you, but you are still one of my all time favorite creators. Thank you
Really enjoy these videos where you go in depth on the features. Can't wait to see what you learn about the next pack too. It makes playing a little less confusing sometimes.
"Dust bunny sugar daddy"😂😂😂😂
I agree completely about "go here". Everything else should be alphabetical, but "go here" belongs at the top.
The idle animation is annoying. My favorite though is when you ask them to vacuum the living room they go and do the sidewalk. LOL
"Schrödinger's Video Game Mechanic" Brilliant! Too funny!
The inspired buff all day long is really annoying but the animations all the time is what made me turn it off. This pack being considered fixed is embarrassing.
Me plays the sims 2 instead: wait what?
Me too & Sims 3... I have even expanded into city builder games! 🤷🏻♀️ My kids are saying I am turning into a “real” gamer!
@@lynareantoinette try cities:skylines, kingdoms & castles or tropico 4!
yep I play sims2 all he time, a timeless classic
I´d like to try Sims 2 but I heard EA deleted it from Origin :(
@@grease_monkey6078 true
I haven't played in over a year, and I don't miss it. Been playing sims 3. I laughed so hard during this, thanks. Dust bunny sugar daddy 👯
Am I the only one who thinks laundry day and bust the dust should just be a stuff/game pack together? Just make a cleaning pack where you can do ALL OF THIS.
We need that sugar daddy dust bunny in real life. Especially during quarantine.
my hate for the sims 4 grows stronger and stronger everyday
Me too lol. Watching this makes me so angry
My sim won’t leave the vacuum in the house, she carries it around with her everywhere 🙄
I wish sims would avoid puddles or try and step over them. Idk I think that would be a neat little feature :)
I don't know about you; but I don't like walking through puddles of piss, and carrying on with my day like nothing happened 😂
agree!
... in socks
That's why I have waited to buy this kit..lol. Thanks for this video! I'll keep waiting, and maybe EA will fix it
Lol nope, they already did a rework on it. Do you think they'll revisit a "cheap throwaway kit" to only please those who ended up buying this kit?
They never even bothered to fix the sims 3 lol I wouldn’t count on them fixing. All they do is push out content and break the game more.
I disabled it but I still see the dirt and those bunnies from time to time.
Too bad we can't immediately think, "They will listen to feedback an fix it" vs it will be abandoned like all other major tuning problems.
sims sniffing a room with another sim's pee on the ground "Ah, the air!" *CHEF'S KISS*
It's not only that. It's never give me empty vacuum when it's full. You can't use full vacuum, but when you try to empty it's just glitch and do nothing. So you end up just buying new vacuum every time 😫🤦
Wow like, Carl is getting more and more pissed with each single video, I can feel it in his voice lol :D
It’s kind of why I keep watching. :)
I think EA also broke carl with this kit :/
I just feel this kit was very bad for consumers. It's not worth buying but could be if they would put a little effort into it.
Turned it off in 15 min. Feel dumb for buying to be honest. Bust the dust is a bust. Waste of 5 bucks!
Is anyone honestly surprised that Sims 4 isn’t working as it should?
Oh, but continue to support the team and EA’s predatory practices, by all means 🙄
you know YEARS ago i wanted werewolves. but at this point i don't know about this anymore.
The fact that they’re always inspired makes me so mad
This makes me so glad I didn't purchase any of those kits when they were first released. My game already goes off the rails whenever they update the game (ex. one family I play with won't use a certain set of stairs EVEN THOUGH there is nothing blocking the path, no 'incorrect' build mode placement etc) so I can only imagine how frustrated I'd be with dust bunny bugs and the like. *sigh*
Love your vids Carl's Sim Guides😍😍😍
I wonder if the sims team ever really listen to what you have to say in these videos... Every time you make a video I come away from it agreeing with everything you say and yet nothing seems to happen? And patch updates are often only a half-fix of the problems... Have you ever been acknowledged by the sims team for your *extremely valuable* feedback??
It's pretty simple. The sims team can release a half-assed game and people will pay top dollar for it. Why would they put in the work to actually fix anything? As long as people are buying the game they couldn't care less.
Okay so it's not just me. Thought I was going crazy.
Now that I discovered your channel I subconsciously read all your articles in your voice! I was just doing that and it made me laugh - thanks for helping me out so much!
Early squad where at??
Ova Here
People still comment this bullshit 😂
Hey, thanks for popping in. Early comments don't bother me. They help me eh?
I regret buying that pack. I should have continued with my no buy model.
I almost did that mistake :( sorry that you were a victim of that trash they sold you
