This reset password on notes does not work for old notes and most people need that because at the bottom it says “notes that already have a password aren’t affected”

Hey! Have lost your previous phone? If not, the best way to get it back is to sign in your iCloud account to that phone and the unlock it and lock it again on your new iPhone. If you have lost or given your previous phone to another person, I think it’s worth a try that you reset your Note password and use the Face ID instead

For people trying to get old notes that are locked now require a password when you usually use Touch ID. I had a locked note that required a password but I went on an old phone and it let me use Touch ID . I think it needed the password because I’d changed who could use Touch, but obviously on my old phone I hadn’t. So if the note is on the cloud, use a phone that you haven’t used recently

Found this on Apple website You can unlock a note only when you enter the password that it's locked with. If you forgot your password, Apple can't help you regain access to your locked notes.
You can reset your password, but this won’t give you access to your old notes. It will, however, let you password protect any notes that you create from that point forward with the new password. This could lead to you having multiple notes with different passwords.
If you have multiple passwords, you can't tell which password you should use when you look at your notes in the Notes list. If you then enter the correct old password, you get the option to update that note's password to your current one.
It won't help your forgotten old password. It says it allows you to create a new password for notes you create form now on. Notes that already have password arent affected

I did a Feature Request, where I stated that there’s need to be a recovery feature for these notes. If I can forget the passcode to my WHOLE PHONE and reset it to get in, I should be able to do so with some notes (which contain very important information on them). I believe if we start getting many people to send similar Feature Requests, maybe we can make a change

@@atharvaggarwal9466 once you have FaceID on for your new notes that you create, go to one of these still locked notes and swipe to delete it and it should give you the option to manage locked notes with FaceID. Once you accept, all old notes locked under that password get brought into FaceID authentication and then you can move the note from your recently deleted back to the main folder. Good luck!

One of the commenters here shared that just tap on the locked note many times to get a password update notification. Then, just update. I’m not sure if this works. By the way, lucky you 👍
Just follow the instructions. The only difference is the use of Touch ID and Face ID. Meaning that you will find the Face ID option in the setting. Just turn it on

If you already have a notes that is locked before changing password, then it won’t open that locked note.
You actually have to remember the password.

What worked for me was resetting my password and using the Face ID too. Then I deleted the note and went to the deleted notes section and it was able to unlock with just Face ID. Hope this helps. Also test it out on a random note first!
I still can’t get into my notes. I have open with FACE ID and it’s still asking for my password and I have no idea what It is.

Dude i reseted my password on settings and when i come back to my note apps and typed my new reseted password on the note that i forgot is still cant

One of the commenters here shared that just tap on the locked note many times to get a password update notification. Then, just update. I’m not sure if this works.

Just follow the instructions. The only difference is the use of Touch ID and Face ID. Meaning that you will find the Face ID option in the setting. Just turn it on
