Same here man in terms of having a great childhood memory of this movie. Which is why I can't believe I'm just now going after the whole set of these. I've had Leo for awhile, and just picked up Donny. Next if Raph, but I remember my mom picking me and my older bro up from freaking elementary school and taking us to see the movie.
I like how good the 7inch ones are.. but the 1/4 scale ones capture the look and realism of the 1990 movie so much more.
With QC issues aside..NECA's hands down the overall best action figure company on the planet. From quality, price, availability and the licenses they have..it's unmatched. I hope cartoon Splinter gets shown off at SDCC. That's the one I've been waiting for more than any other..besides the brothers.

You got all of them, nice. I like how you displayed them with the og NES cartridge. The 1/4 scale ones are cool as hell and way more detailed, but due to financial and shelf-space purposes I'm sticking with the 7 inch ones, lol.
Oh yeah, they are pricey for sure. Worth every penny but hard to buy all at once. I bought them one every six to eight months until I had them all.

these figures are so sick... i have the 1/4 scale and the Raphael with trench coat... i still gotta track down the same stop exclusives... but i'll get em soon... i would LOVE to see them do Tokka and Rahzar... those would be so badass... i also would like to see a Bebop and Rocksteady... even though they weren't in the 90's movie... great video bro
It seems like i have to buy all 1/4 Ninja Turtles Figures until the end of this year. Hope they will ship overseas. But first I have to save alot of money. This figures are incredible and really a must have for a old turtle Fan.

But what annoys me about this type of merchandise, same with TWD, if i go to Ebay etc. (because Gamestop is out of stock) it's just people buying the shelves and selling them to make money.

Scalping has been part of collecting for ages and it does suck, especially when you have a limited run of figures like these being exclusives. It's too bad Playmates has a strangle hold on the turtles license, otherwise we would see a much wider release of these figures and the Toon 2 packs. The toon 2 packs would also likely be at least $10 bucks cheaper. It's Target and the license that dictates them being so expensive. I both look forward to and dread the 2 packs coming this fall.

I had the 1/4 trench coat Raphael, and of course, that is the only one that can't be bought anymore. Meanwhile, all the rest have sold for the last.....5-7 years straight and still not stopping

@@Kidgib5 They have 3 different lines of turtles going, technically 4.
1. Mirage Comic (though, I don't know if they will make more figures for them after the villain pack from a couple years ago)
2. 80's cartoon (now coming to Target with a full line of exclusives)
3. Arcade (based on the first arcade game with sculpts that are being shared between the cartoon line, but with different paint styles). SO far these have just been con exclusives.
4. 1990 Movie (both 1/10 scale and 1/4 scale). License doesn't cover Secret of the Ooze, at least not at the moment. If they wanted to they could try to expand the license to the 2nd movie, but all that really gets them access to is Tokka and Rahzar and Super Shredder/Shredder in purple. Not sure if additional money for the license is worth 3 or 4 figures, as much as I would want them.
BeBop and Rocksteady are already confirmed for this fall in the cartoon line along with 6 more figures, some of which we may have seen prototypes for with the arcade paint scheme. We will not seen them in the movie line because they were not in the movies.
I wouldn't mind see NECA get the 2014 movie license, but I probably wouldn't buy into it. I wasn't a fan of the look they went for, though I bet NECA would do fantastic work on them.

I got the 7” ones from comic con and recently got the quarter Leo. Gotta say 7” ones are my favorite. I even got the re released ones just cause they’re that good
I think the sculpts are more impressive when you see them scaled down. You expect larger figures to be that detailed, but packing the same level of detail into 7" scale figures is just outstanding.

Oh and if you want bloody TMNT? Read The Last Ronin… all of them die, but one survives and learns all the weapons and goes out for revenge. Don’t want to mess up the story for you. But go get it.

Sorry for commenting on an old vid, but thanks for a more thorough comparison between the 2 scales. Now I'm more confused LOL. I could get the large set for $540+$10 shipping, or the 7" set for $80 shipped from a reputable toy store (all brand new & sealed). I really love the large ones but don't have the space for them, though they'd go along well with 1/4 scale statues. The 7" I could enjoy on display right away, and the $470 difference is something I know is worth it but these are hard Pandemic times. Collector's problems LOL
Yeah, the price differences are huge, it was much easier when they where released one at a time. Back then, the 7inch scale didn't exist and NECA pretended they could only make 1/4 scale but they also went on sale for $90 so it was a steal at the time. But buying them all at once, ouch, yeah I would just go for the 7inch which are still amazing.
@@makeapathpresents Yeah, I read brfore that apart from the then-unavailability of the 7", the quarter scale (which is in fact my preferred scale) TMNT was restricted for selling in Asia, where I'm from. I think that restriction was lifted along with what restricted the 7" production before, so we get stocks of the 1/4 scale now & then. Anyway, I'm now waiting on the 7" set, paid $75 for it. I'll get the big ones when we're no longer worried about our health & savings :) thanks for the response & stay safe, bud!

I was also 7 when I watched the 1990 movie for the first time and I remember having my mind absolutely blown by it. I had to get these figures myself when they came out- my first and only NECA toys haha... did you also get wave 2 with Shredder/foot soldiers/splinter? I had to get that as well 😄
Update: I have since collected multiple figures from multiple licenses NECA holds, including Robocop, Terminator, Alien, and Predator- it’s a slippery slope lol
They need another movie with costumes similar to these and even better than the 1990 ones ( even though those were best ) also had VHS im 37 now. Loved that movie seen it tooooooo many times and still watch it time to time while grabbing a pizza with my nephew. Micheal bay is a fool . It sucks that they just cant come up with a masterpiece new movie with a full story oh how it started ..from when splinters owner was young, trained and how the whole thing started ..they could make many seasons ....even a show would be great with a dark theme like 90s movie . Fkkkkkkk why can't someone do this :(((
I think the first 1/4 ones were $110, then went up a few dollars..or maybe $100, then $112. Either way, they totally look like they'd retail for hundreds of dollars..no doubt.
And for the smaller ones being $23..comparing that to a $20 Marvel Legends, come the fuck on! lol - it's like a 3 y/o crayon drawing compared to fine art.

Is someone going to please please make a 90s style TV show with absolute no CGI? They should start off the show with hamato yoshi and oroku saki younger days how the whole thing started... up until ninja turtles mutation and them growing and taking out shredder in the end with many many seasons they can do so much.kkinda like they did Gotham. show. What stands is everyone using to display them?
No stands for either big, I use the clear NECA stands (flat round with foot peg) for the small ones. Honestly they don't even need stands for most poses.

Does anyone else’s Turtles have kinda a blotchy paint job on the stomach part of the shell? On both my Raph and Donny they have like these streaks of darker color yellow that really stands out. Other then that these figures are amazing!

I don't know if I'm the first to say anything, but am I the only one bothered by how high Donatello's belt is. I thought it was always about the height of Raph or Mikey's belt.

Yeah, the 1/4 stuff is HUGE. I got them thinking we would never see 7 inch versions. Now I have both. The 1/4 ones make for stand alone pieces away from a main collection. The smaller ones make for better action scene type set ups.

Yea when I was little I would make the turtle figures killing the foot clan and shredder stabbing the turtles I would really like a rated R turtles kind of like the original comics
