Diamine Oxford Blue featured prominently this year for me.. Iroshizuku shin ryoku and tsutsuji were new favs since I picked em up at the CApen show. Cool picks, thanks.
I love the look of Syo-Ro and it's on my short list of next purchases. Great list and it's good to see a somewhat unconventional color make it to the top of your list. I too like teals and turquoise inks and have been enjoying Diamine Eau de Nil and Troublemaker Opon Channel Blue a lot this year. Other ones that have been used frequently have been Diamine Ancient Copper, Deep Magenta, Meadow and Aqua Lagoon. Can't beat a large order from Cult Pens with their cheap prices on Diamine inks! I'm glad I found your channel and look forward to more videos.
That is the great thing with inks, there are plenty of colors for everyone's tastes. I just got the Iroshizuku Rikka, and that one it also quickly becoming a favorite. Thanks for watching.
Great inks! I want to get coffee break ink, myself. I saw the Schaeffer Coffee on sale and you are right, it is delightful. I have a bottle of Private Reserve Chocolat in my collection and have been writing with that for now.
Those are some great inks! My favorite ink this year is Diamine Ancient Copper. I am always in the search for a perfect sepia ink! If you have any recommendations please let me know.
Have you had any issues with your ancient copper drying odd in the bottle or pen? I had a small bottle from years ago, and it would almost leave a crust of sorts on nibs?
@@dwrdnet I haven't had any issues with it leaving crust on my nibs, but I will only leave a pen inked up for two weeks. There is dry crusty ink around the cap of the bottle though.
Great choices man! Your #1 would be my #1 as well. I love that verdigris color and I use it a lot in my Pilot Custom 743 with the FA nib. It dries down splendidly and gets these neat halo'ing and slight sheening affects to them. And since it's Iroshizuku ink, it flows very well. Love it. I, too, also love a great brown ink and my favorite brown that I always keep inked in something in Robert Oster's Cafe Crema, especially in a flex nib pen. I just love the antique sepia like qualities of it when it dries. I also agree on Diamine's Oxblood, that is another staple of mine as well. That always has to be in something. For me one of the inks I tried out on a whim and have really loved this year is J. Herbin's Vert Empire. Beautiful greyish shade of green that shades like a dream.
i’m new to the hobby so I was exploring like crazy with both inks and pens. I will say Diamine and Birmingham were two favorite brands. I really love Diamine masquerade, Birmingham ploughman’s pebble, Diamine autumn oak, Dominant Industry Autumn Forest, and oxblood is a staple for work.
My top five: • Pilot Iroshizuku Ku-Jaku • Birmingham Pen Company Jade Inferno • Aurora Turquoise • Diamine Red Dragon • Diamine Classic Green I have a bottle of Pilot Iroshizuku Ama-iro on its way to me.
So to follow up, I just got done swatching the Rikka, and it really isn't teal. It stands out against the teals and light blues. The closest ink that I own to it is Birmingham Pen Company Ohio River.
Great selection :) I appreciated the sound effects and background music. My favourite ink of 2024: Wearingeul Frankenstein. Most used ink of 2024: Private reserve DC supershow blue or Colorverse supernova.
@@dwrdnet I think you have found a great balance. The most important thing will always be hearing your opinions about the pens and inks, but the production value is a bonus :)
Really like the look of the oxblood. First time writing with the pen today. The lamy safari came with blue ink. So I just used that. Happy with the outcome. Nice top 5 list. Gave me some ideas to maybe choose from.
Pilot Iroshizuku Yu Yake, a terrific orange ink whose name sounds much like my own; Diamine Writer's Blood, which, depending on nib and paper, can be dark red to maroon, or brown, or even purple. It had been a favorite for some time. I was given a big bottle of the stuff at the Chicago pen show earlier this year. Having fractured my skull a few weeks earlier, my face was all the colors the ink becomes. I am not making this up. Also blue, purple, green...Noodler's Inks Bay State Blue, the ink we love to hate. Consistent, reliable, intense, but does not play well with other inks. I love the stuff, and have kept it in my edc for years with no trouble at all. Monteverde Valentine red. True red, not pinkish, not orangish, just red. Waterman Serenity Blue, well-behaved, safe. Diamine Ancient Copper. That's enough. There are more, lots more, but it's enough.

For the price, the Shaeffer has been a surprise wonderful writer.

I am going to have to look into getting a bottle of Cafe Creme, as I keep seeing loads of people talking about it.

Onblood will always be one of my favorites. I have I think 3 Birmingham Pen Co inks, and they are great too.
My top five:
• Pilot Iroshizuku Ku-Jaku
• Birmingham Pen Company Jade Inferno
• Aurora Turquoise
• Diamine Red Dragon
• Diamine Classic Green
I have a bottle of Pilot Iroshizuku Ama-iro on its way to me.
That is a nice list. Ama-iro gets used every so often, but the new Rikka might move it down the list.
@dwrdnet I saw that today, but Rikka looks more like a teal to me. But I do like teal inks.
I have a feeling before too long, I will own all of the Iroshizuku colors, so it will be hard to choose when looking at them all side by side.

Very nice video
Thanks for watching.
Private Reserve Dakota Red. Very bright, flows well, dries quickly. And Birmingham Seized Gearbox for its unique color.
I like the few Birmingham inks I have so far, so I will have to look into adding that one in the future.
I always use Diamine Oxblood in my Mont Blanc Meisterstuck 149.
Oxblood is such a great ink.

I hope your new pen serves you well.
