    I would like to see 1 nano tank total re-scape with jungle style aqua scape with valisneria plant & no co2. Something like Valisneria jungle flowing from one side to another with schooling fish or koi betta:) Minimal hardscape, no carpet. Or something like black water riverscape! Totally different from your usual aquascaping! That would be fun to see and learn. 😇 I am also planning to build a similar scape soon!🤞🏼🙂

    More dark red between the layers of hard scape detail added to the store and maybe more rock out croping in left hand front corner of the tank. Plants between the rocks, yes, but minimal and small l"leaf" in scale to the rest of the planting, maybe a trailing vine like moss. In nature there is not much " mediun for a plant to grow between tightly wedged rock running in the sane plain. Also, feeling the backround planting needs to be taller or have a black backing. I think of aquascaping is Gardening/ landscape design, it has a like of its own and is always evolving. It's an assemblance, relatinship between human and "nature" which he is part of.

    On regades to the dry start melting issue: I recently dry started a 45p with dwarf hairgrass, s. repens and some rotala orange juice. After week 3 i experienced some melting(it was rather a burn than melt) on the s. repens and the rotalas, even with one misting on the morning and regular ventillation. After cheking my thermometer i noticed that the temperature was contantly around 24-25 c°. I figured that the whole inviroment(glass, air, rocks, even the soil) got "overheated" becouse of the light(awerage lighting), so i filled it up. After a week the s. repens is still struggeling, but the rotala is showing new growth. Definatly try the atomiser first, this is the new "shelf" now😜

    • @IndoorEcosystem

      I have to agree. I've had similar issues in the past with burn rather than melt.

    • @JurijsJutjajevs
      @JurijsJutjajevs  3 місяці тому +1

      If plants struggle in dry start, flooding will only add more stress on them. I have had best results with dry start using carpeting plants and eventually mid ground compact growing sturdy plants. Moss and majority of stems can struggle with fluctuating humidity levels. If it’s too moist, they grow in submersed state and will dry out quickly whenever humidity drops and the humidity higher closer to the ground and lower towards the lid or cling film.

    • @MoOlnar
      @MoOlnar 3 місяці тому

      @@JurijsJutjajevs yeh, you are probably right. So theoreticaly you can grow emmersed stemplants in a dry start, but in reality you have to generate constant humidity level, with adecvate ventillation to avoid melting. I kinda panicked. The carpet is doing fine, I trimed right after flooding and now is spreading. I'm gonna give a few days to see if it will spring back or not, and plant some fresh stems if needed.

    I have watched many of your video's and they are amazing. I am not new in the aquarium hobby, i had freshwater aquaria when i was younger, from zebra and discus till pirahna and about 12 year ago i had a 1000 liter seawater reef aquarium. Now i am thinking to start a aquascape tank and that is something i don't have any experience in. Something i am not sure about is what size aquarium to start with. In seawater it is bigger is easier for starters. If you start you can maintain a 1000 liter tank easier than a 60 liter tank, since the bigger the volume, the easier it is to get it stabelized and keep it that way. Is this the same with aquascape aquaria?
    What size would you recommend to start with and is there a difference in a shallow aquarium other then the looks? (I am currently looking at the Superfish Scaper 90 to start with, but i am open to suggestions if there are better options in the same price range)

    • @JurijsJutjajevs
      @JurijsJutjajevs  3 місяці тому +1

      The recommendation I like to give is: quality over quantity. What that means, in necessary to go smaller but to get all the good stuff and to not sacrifice on gear. For that said reason I beleave 36-60cm aquariums are ideal to get into the aquascaping hobby, because there are plenty of gear options and it’s easy to find suitable hardscape materials and the other thing I recommend is to try and rescape as often as possible. With a smaller canvas it won’t break the bank and the process is quicker and enjoyable.
      To pick up your argument about “larger is more arable” it’s true, but also comes at a cost. Everything is more expensive, you need more of everything and it takes longer to setup and maintain. I believe the concept of bigger is better, originates from a time when there were no good options for small aquariums. And this has changed a lot over the years. I can quickly do a 50-80% just with a large jug on one of my nanos, leaving no excuses not to do it, while on a larger aquarium the time commitment is a whole different story. Hope above helps you make a qualified decision 😉

    • @Ray47nl
      @Ray47nl 3 місяці тому

      @@JurijsJutjajevs Thanks for you quick response. Of course you are right about the gear getting a lot better in the last years. I was not sure if it was the same with fresh water tanks, since i had a 1000 liter saltwater tank and a small saltwater nanocube and i learned that, keeping the water parameters within the correct limits, was alot easier with the 1000 liter. And if you look at it, a drop of "X" can create havoc in a nano aquarium and in a 1000 liter it doesnt get noticed. That said, with the filters and co2 we have these days you can do alot more then back in the day. I am thinking to buy the superfish scaper 60. A 60 cm tank. And use aquasoil (Oase ScaperLine Soil), alot of plants and co2. But i am also tempted to buy a shallow tank, but is the difference only cosmetic or do you have to do different things in a shallow tank too?

    • @JurijsJutjajevs
      @JurijsJutjajevs  3 місяці тому +1

      I think the shallow might be more tricky in many ways. I suggest to start with regular size. I’m not familiar with the super fish brand, just make sure you get a good light from the start
