The lad at the end "Everton are always in a relegation fight", he's talking about the club that has been in the top flight for longer than any other club on the planet. He then says "we shouldn't be lowering ourselves" This is Ipswich Town he's referencing 😂 Good luck for the rest for season though.
Jezz made sense. I have only seen 2 games this season Wimbledon and West Ham. Philips is/was weak. Agreed. Rather go down with guts. Philips ain’t gonna suddenly get better. West Ham fans I sat with were not feeling the love for Philips. He wouldn’t get a lift on my tractor. Good luck to him tho but wouldn’t field him any more I reckon. Thanks for post as ever.
we will be lucky to get 15 points, KM needs to change tactic and formations. What might have worked in L1 and the Championship isnt working in this league, Hutchinson isnt a number 10, and Sammy iisnt a winger, I would play 3 in midfield as we are getting overrun
Agree with the guy talking about Calvin Phillips looks like a costly error, his heart doesn’t look in it still picking up his 150k a week. Can deal with a lack of quality but a lack of effort we can not. I would really send him back in January if possible and start getting the team spirit back from last 2 seasons. Also Muric needs to get his angles right why is he not closing the angle on the second goal but standing in middle of goal wasn’t expecting shot very poor again.
Sat at home feeling a bit rough I watch the game on TV for a change. Everton simply had a better defence than us. We have invested heavily in the team and unfortunately one man we bought is greaves and we missed him today. Would it have made a difference? No I don’t think so but we have to believe that McKenna will get this team more solid at the back eventually and stop all this nervous schoolboy errors we continue to do every game so far. 4 pt gap above us now and if we don’t get the defending sorted out soon we will be adrift and relying on the other 3 to be even worse than us which is not good. On another point we know our owners are serious about our club being in the top flight of football, they have backed McKenna to the tune of over £100m plus given him a contract worthy of a top manager in the league. How long do they give him before they feel the need to pull the trigger??? Remember there is absolutely no loyalty in football. A £20m payoff to McKenna to get in a more successful and experienced manager is not beyond the realms of possibility no matter how much he is loved and appreciated for what he has done for the club. Ok Still could say it’s early doors and the constant international breaks cannot be helping us bed this team together but results are needed and needed quick… I would have said this in person but like I said I’m glad to be home sick to miss that 🤣
This is the real test of a coach at the top level, to sort things out and start getting results when the going gets tough - we'll see how good McKenna really is now in the next few weeks.
@@yippeeki-yay1691 I remember Terry Butcher saying that maintaining a winning run is easy because of the momentum building up and the increase in confidence among the players. That first win is a hurdle we must overcome and it gets higher and higher every week. You're bang on about this being a test of KM's managerial qualities.
Some days you just have to say the opposition played well and stopped Ipswich playing. Everton are a better team than people and especially the press admit. They could have scored 6 and most of there chances where on target.
Everton didn’t have to be very good to win today. Formations not working; I’d be looking to play 5 at the back and 3 midfielders and looking to start Szmodics - no more waiting on Hutchinson to adjust to the 10 - we haven’t got that luxury.
We had the league 1 defence out ,so were at a disadvantage from the start, thought Harry Clarke & Burgess did ok,Wolfy & burns made some costly mistakes,Why is Szmodics not starting?Everton are on form,we need Greaves back ASAP otherwise it's another heavy defeat at Brentford.
Worst performance of the season defence looked nervous and we were simply out played need to win against leciester now otherwise we are in trouble #uppatowen
Pub team defending again, you need to learn quick at this level and it's not happening, what's Szmodics done wrong not to get decent game time? Hutchinson should be on right also.
Another ouch!!! Team are suffering from the silly mistake syndrome...Got to get that first win and push on from there...Still keeping optimistic ( just🤕)
Bit sick of the relegation comments regarding Everton, over the passed 20 seasons, EFC went close to relegation twice, not even counting last season, because without the 8 point deduction, we would have finished 22 points above the drop zone. Everton are better than Ipswich Town, no disrespect but the fact is, if we had managed our games defensively better ie Bournmouth and Villa, we would be 7th now on 14 points but during those games we had 1 of our first choice defenders fit, this league is tough and we know it.
It started to come back the second Chaplin came in. I think he needs to be given his chance to start. No one marks him at corners because he's so short!!! That's a mistake he has punished many times.
Bring back the boys that took us to PL! Hopefully McKenna have the cojones to bench shocking signings like Phillips, Johnson, and, mind you, Greaves, and a couple of others. No rhythm at all, you can see the frustration in players like Morsy. Phillips has been abysmal, and Ben Johnson (I know he wasn’t playing today), looks like he’s been playing League 2 all his life. Brentford next, with hopefully this lineup. Walton -Clarke, Woolfenden, Burgess, Davis -Hutchinson, Morsy, Chaplin, Taylor -Delap, Hirst. Tuanzebe has been very good this season, hopefully he can revolver quickly. Eight games without a win, the writing is on the wall.
Why do opposition supporters always claim the team that have just beaten them are poor? Sometimes you just have to admit you were beaten by a better tesm
Everton's league position suggests they're not that great, but yesterday they were the better team. Town's kami kazi defending didn't do them any favours. Everton aren't a great team at present, but they're an experienced Premier League side.

Bad omen was the 15 minute delay. Dyche would have been bleating " look, Ipswich can't even organize the crowd, how can they organize their team"
as Peachy mentioned we had a few passengers that let themselves down. I’m sure the players know you must be on it from minute one to minute 98

No coincidence we got our first shot on target when Chaplain came on. Give him a start

Dream on if you think everton will be fighting relegation with Ipswich, they will be nice and safe this season.
Absolutely we will finish top half whilst Ipswich will sink through the leagues
It should have been 5 0 Everton if DCL would have had his shooting Boots on . C'mon the Toffees

I'd have been delighted to finish 17th this season, now id settle just to finish above Southampton..
Just terrible defending especially when Burns passed the ball to their striker inside our box.
Too many in our squad are not good enough at this level
The team cohesion from previous seasons is missing. It's not gelling, the mayonnaise has split!

Everton will not be battling relegation with you.
No we won't
Nothing was said by AJ and Stu - waste of time.
