this song still makes me cry no matter how many times i rewatch the serries allso season 5 will be coming in during the spring of 2019 so looking forward to that ^^
Every time I hear this song, I cry. Every time I see Kanade, I pause the video, stare at my ceiling, and slowly fall into a trance where my heart no longer works. :)
Reminds me that I never watched the 3rd season. The swan song scenes can be extremely sad, used to almost cry on em... However I find that when I try to whistle or sing them myself I can help but tear up when trying to convey the emotion they made me feel (hard to hold back tears when you are singing it rather then just watching 😣)
God I love Kanade dammit, the first few moments I saw her my brain already decided 'ok this is your favourite character' and now I can’t get rid of it lol
Something I love about the superb song, besides the inevitable chills I get from hearing it, is that the series always treats it as a big deal. Any other series would eventually overcome the hurdle of its backlash in the waves of insane power scaling, but for the most part, Symphogear makes it clear that regardless of how powerful you get, the Superb Song will almost always have some dangers to it.
Really wish they didn't start throwing this away so much in the following season. In season 1, they established its weight in episode 1 and from then on, you can feel its weight every single time, even though nobody else dies from it. In season 2 they're just kinda throwing it around almost casually.
It stopped hitting so hard after the last two episodes of s1 and its bs both tsubasa and Chris were supposed to die in that episode hell, tusbasa shouldnt have survived her climax song yet she did kills me kanade was the only one to die it took away the meaning they worked so hard to emphasize of the consequences of the climax song the rest I agree total bleh
@@grimreapz3570 Tsubasa didn't die from it since she was a lot more in sync with her gear, but at least she got fucked up from it. The image of Tsubasa just bleeding from every orifice on her face was pretty harrowing.
@@LazzyVamples it was established in the first episode and later episodes the climax song is a death sentence, even Chris mentioned it once when she said "my life isn't that cheap" as true as it may be that tsubasa was more connected with her gear she still shouldn't have survived I agree with you watching the brutality of what ahooend to her after she sung her climax song was insane however her survival still completely defeats the impact of the song not to mention the events later I mentioned before
2 months late. But they are called Superb songs, with Climax song and Swan songs being translations. But no matter the name they fit well with what they are.
The first season was a masterpiece, the second was good, the third bad, the fourth ok and the fifth look good so far. But the series lost the feeling it had when they started singing the Swan Songs and it will never get it back.
I loved s1 wasn't a fan of how it ended kanade was the only one to die as a consequence for singing the swan song it took away the impact the did so well to establish in ep 1
I actually looked this up and it turns out that 'Swan Song' is a mistranslation and is actually called the Superb Song. They had put Japanese lyrics over this for the song Xtreme Vibes so here's the romanji and English. Romanji translation: Shūen no merodi ga Zankyō ni kawaru sono toki Senki no uta wa maku wo toji Tabidachi e to kieru English translation When the melody of cessation Transforms into a reverberation The curtains close on the song of the valkyries And disappears as we depart from here
Lol. Why use so many a false translation of "Zesshou". The official or correct Translation is "Superb Song". I knew Swan Song is the favourite translation for FanSubs but it is incorrect and makes no sense.
It's the most popular because it makes the most sense when you think about it in the terms of the first season at least when a Zesshou had the most meaning and impact behind it. A Swan Song's meaning it a performer's Final Public Performance before they retired, and in Symphogear, a "Swan Song" was their last song, or at least it was supposed to be. It was a song that culminated all their power into one Kamikaze attack that would take out the enemy, but at minimum cripple the user, and at worst kill the user.
"A Swan Song's meaning it a performer's Final Public Performance before they retired" More importantly, it's a pretty ancient belief (at least ancient Greece) that swans sing one beautiful song right before they die. The modern usage referring to a performer's last performance is in reference to that.
the swan song always makes me shiver, but in a good way
When you hear it, it brings out emotions that you wouldn't think would come out
Damn right😢😢😢

At first it was really a big deal, then on later seasons we got Shirabe and Kirika able to ignore the damage by overdosing LiNKER
