Somehow they had a really big budget for hiring talented people for everything

The longer the animation the cheaper the anime because the animations are reused every time they transform. So... yea these are pretty long, so this anime is cheaper overall.
That touch of having the four autoscorers on Carol's hat... They literally took an antagonist for the whole season and had you LEGIT CHEERING FOR THEM THE WHOLE EPISODE
I think I've just found my favorite anime transformations of all time.
This and Lagann for sure
Coming back to say, this is STILL tied with Madoka Magica for "My Favorite Magical Girl Transformations of All Time"
It takes a LOT of animation quality to get me to ignore all the curves and just stare in awe at the transformation sequence. Symphogear passes with shining colors!

Yeah. Symphogear throws boobs and butts in viewers' faces, not to catch their attention, but because its creators know that they can afford it. It's just so awesome that you don't even notice the fan service sometimes.

i love how each one is a different dance or genre and the creativity in some of the sequences themselves is just baller as hell. genuinely really impressive. like come on. she's pole dancing and the pole turns into a fucking rocket powered scythe that is SO cool.

Hibiki's transformation sequence is kinda like a martial arts demonstration or rather shadow boxing drills because she fights bare handed. Kirika's has elements of pole dancing with her scythe as the pole. Shirabe's is a figure skating performance combined with 2a yoyo skills. Maria's is based on rhythmic gymnastics with a ribbon since she uses a dagger that can extend into a whip. Tsubasa's like Hibiki's is a martial arts demonstration only it's Kenjutsu which is obvious since she uses a katana. Chris's transformation sequence has no apparent performing arts motif except maybe that she was moving around like a heroine from an action movie who knows her way with a gun right at the end.
This is why you hire people who like the characters to make the transformations.
My favourites are Tsubasa's and Shirabe's, but to be honest all transformations this season were gorgeous.
I love Miku's, too, it's really visually imposing and I've never seen anything quite like it
heres a spoiler but that aint miku... thats the big bad of the season shem-la who is basicly a parasite and ya know who the host is

Watching seasons 2-4, I kinda started to miss the og transformations with audio visualizer on their silhouettes. I was pleasantly surprised with the final season transformations - it was like combining the best parts of each seasons transformations into one.

As someone who does pole dance as exercise, love witchy aesthetics, and thinks scythes are a cool weapon, I have finally found someone who I can cosplay! Kirika!

You might be interest to learn then that there seems to be a manga in the works that focuses on pole dancing titled Pole Star by someone known as NON whose past work include Harekon. I don't know much about it as of yet, but apparently, NON is someone who practices pole dancing as well and the manga is inspired by their experiences.

Honestly, Maria's was my favourite.
Tsubasa's was awesome albeit a little disappointing maybe cos I was so hyped for her and they took so long to show hers.
I love that in this season they all chose a sport for them to showcase whilst transforming.

Shirabe's is easily the best transformation. But really all of them in this final season are fantastic. They just went all out with the budget on them.

@@FrarmerFrank It is magic though. Magic tech, but still magic. In lore a symphogear is fragment of a mythological item (ie gungnir from Norse mythology) turned into magical girl armour by priestess who built the tower of Babel.
Genre wise more technology looking magical girls isn't anything new, look at Nanoha for an example.

I neer noticed before that the transformation sequences have diferent focus depending on the team: Div 2 Gear has a focus on the weapons/techniques the girls uses, while the FIS team lean more on artistics (pole dance, gymnastiscs, ice skating)

It's like someone took the digi-evolution sequence, sprinkled some Super Robot combination, and a healthy dose of Super Sentai/Kamen Rider.
I can say they are straight up look like Zero One transformation.

Where does the studio get such an insane animation budget from
Believe or not, music disc sales. The insert songs sold from this anime could fund Unlimited Budget Works, if put together from each season. You can actually see the difference in production value from Season 1 to Season 2, and most of that came from the music.

I don't think the budget is that high.
I heard that for this season, each animator got to choose their favorite girls to direct and animate their transformation sequence. So it's more like passion project and to showcase their skills

XV basically season 1 to 4 transformation combine into a new miracles. If you watch all carefully you will notice it. Well season 1 was clearly right there.

but the serious answer is that each of the transformations were headed by staff that like the character the most. also apperently Kirika's original transformation for this season was much longer and I think lewder.

Wish they had the err... "full extended versions" of all these songs. As in these extended parts "1:43-2:03" for example. For all the girls of course. They are all good.
I've been lamenting the fact that we didn't get the extended versions since Maria transforming to Senritsu Sorority in AXZ. In XV it's Shirabe and Maria's that I want especially.
Mijuku Shoujo Buttagiri!! feels like it starts up too soon while the transformation version has the perfect amount of buildup to it. Meanwhile Shirogane no Honou is missing the beautiful section from 03:53 to 04:03 which makes me very sad.

At first i thought Shirabe had the weirdest design when she was first introduced in previous seasons. But look at her now, you would be proud! Look at how they made the transformation, the weird boots, and hair, now looks like the coolest things ever! I never saw the design the same anymore. She has one of the coolest and cutest transformations. Similar with Kirika. Surpassing their design and past transformations by far many levels.
Seriously, all of these transformations are so cool!! I think the coolest transformations in history for magical girls.
Hibiki looks so strong, Kirika and Chris looks so.. err sexy and funky, Shirabe looks so cool and cute, Maria looks so confident and nimble, Tsubasa looks fine in her fiery swordsmanship, Elfnein the saviour, and Miku looks so regal and elegant.

You know, I wonder if they will ever make new seasons. I miss both the new transormations as well as the asspull uno reverse card they pull out on the end of the penultimate episodes of each season
Sadly season 5 really is the last of it. I wish they had a season 6 so we could see Miku join in on the fight and see her transformations. I’m also pretty sad the global gatcha game Symphogear XD Ultimate died within like 3 months of release last year.
It would be cool if there was another season, but that level of hype would definitely kill some people.
Well, sadly somethings need to finish, this story ended, the curse of balal was lifted and wars are ending now because humans are understanding each other again.

Crunchyroll has all 5 seasons, and Discotek released all 5 seasons on blu ray. I absolutely love the show. Highly recommend

They made a small announcement teaser for a new project several months ago but no news since them
We only know it probably gonna star a new cast, because the director said he wanted to give the anime a proper ending which means we probably wont see the same protagonists anymore

so, I only ever watched s1, and I was just casually scrolling when seeing this title and I was like, "let's see what's up", and I was like, "yeah, that's cool" and amidst the video something hit me, "wait a minute, what was the title again? "checks title" 15!?!?"
Wow my favorite transformation is all of them
1. Gungnir- the spear of the norse god odin. (weaker than gea bolg thou)
2. Igalima- one of the twin childrens of the sumerian god zababa.
3. Shulshagana- a weapon wielded by the sumerian god zababa and also the twin of igalima.
4. Ichival- bow of the norse god ullr.
5. Airgetlám- the Holy silver arm of the celtic god nuadha and in some other universe, the hand of a certain knight that stayed beside his king until the very end.
6. Ameno habakiri- the same sword that emerged from the mystic beast, orochi and was wielded by the Japanese God, susanoo.
Sadly I don't know the other 2.
um.. wrong Gugnir isn't weaker than Gea Bolg.
If you read the myths relating to it, It shares the same trait as Gae Bolg and then-some.
1. The lance is meant to be thrown
2. It cannot be destroyed.
3. It always returns to the user's hand
4. It can never miss
Gungnir cannot be destroyed It cannot be stopped by any mortal means the only reason Fenrir won was because he was destined to. Against anyone else Gungnir would defeat them and it's not even stated wether Fenrir destroys gungnir.
Gae Bolg cannot miss and will always kill. but It can be destoyed, none of the celtic spears are explicitly given the 'unbreakable' status.
Not only that but any Oath made under Gungnir can never be broken. And Will be fulfilled without a doubt, only ragnarok the end of the world where all bonds. physical metaphorical and otherwise are broken is the exception.
I looked into Celtic mythology recently and im a bit of a norse buff so I feel confident in my Analysis.

On a side note, Gungnir is the weapon that broke Dainsielf in norse mythology so it's fitting that Hibiki is the first to overcome it.

Like Mistletoe which is what kills Baldur.. Interestingly in an older version of the myth Mistletoe is actually a sword named that. Not a dart made of Mistletoe. And one could technically view it as the weapon that started ragnarok.
A conceptual god killer which severs bonds, in that case Gungnir is a conceptual weapon that can forge bonds. Fitting really,
of course then you get into the children of loki like fuuuuck imagine people using Fenrir Items as sorta Anti-hibiki weaponry.
Not to meantion Kollr the sword of Heimdall which is used to slay loki. A conceptual god killer that cuts dimensions.

Huh Wonder if Shem-ha in Symphogear had to keep n eye out for it. Could have been like an Anti-virus super sword specifically designed to counter her Yigdrassil. I partially suspect the nine realms were also just sort of systems and programs relating to Bable to keep her in check.
