Ferrari dominated Monaco practice with Leclerc flying! Red Bull seems to be struggling again, but possibly sandbagging at the same time. Aston Martin looks alive again with Alonso setting some fast laps, and Lewis Hamilton was on it! There's so much to play for in an exciting Monaco GP.

@@mari-us6rh Ferrari is faster this practice than they were in Imola. Lando would've topped FP2 in Imola if he hadn't made a mistake on his most promising lap, while Leclerc would've topped FP1 in Monaco if he hadn't run on mediums
@@benben3409 Lando used used soft tire during his flying lap. I am not saying he would be faster, but he had the same soft tire he was using in FP1, that was interrupted by the Zhou red flag. I think he will be closer.

i dont think ferrari is gonna win i submitted my prediction in the predictions video and it was oscar win charles p2 lando p3 and max p4 i stand by the top 3 prediction coz i dont think that ferrari is better when it comes to the final stint mclaren simply comes alive when they put hard tires on a light fuel car in the middle of the race .

Mmm big statement considering he is yet to win one this year in a car that until the last few races was easily the second best car on the grid .. look out for McLaren in p3 and qualifying they havnt even turned their engines up yet and Oscar was second quickest in p1 they are setting the car up better then the rest of them because they have found a good program to run to . I admit it would be great to see Leclerc beat Max and the McLarens but I don’t think this will be the case as they have their engine maxed out already and well anyone who knows what Monaco is like would be crazy to put money on anything until qualifying

sainz is struggling in qualy pace but is confident in the race pace being very good if he gets the setup right. leclerc is very fast in one lap pace and feels very good in the car but is not getting ahead of himself, saying that they need to keep building on this because the others will likely improve as well

Great video again! I would wait for fp3. And I doubt race pace will be a problem. Charles was pushing so hard and cooking his tyres. Then he had traffic on top of it. Carlos isn’t too bad. And quali is most important. But hopefully Charles gets pole and wins! I would love a Fernando podium as well

Leclerc has alot of traffic and some mistakes but when he was in free air for about 2 laps he had very good lap times

Feels so refreshing not to declare Max the winner before the GP even starts like last year. Makes speculating and analyzing practice runs so much more fun. Not to mention the quali or the race,even in Monaco. Would be great to see Charles get his home win.

Agreed - last year was so fucking boring. Even in the Schumi years (I'm a dyed in the wool fan) it got boring watching him win all the time. But red cars haven't exactly been beating the world for the past 20 years so I'm ready to see some of that again.

Same here. I listen to the Brits of course, they have a lot of good content, but it's great to hear an American voice being absolutely as good as any of them, and with perhaps a little less bias towards the British teams and drivers.
I would think high engine mode would really help with acceleration, not just top end. They wouldn't run that mode for top end, it would be for better acceleration out of the corners.
I dont think we can tell much yet. P3 is where all will be known.

I really really hope Redbull isnt insanely far away anymore. It seems like their car is much harder to setup now, could be due to an advanced and very different concept to everyone else. But it seems to be rapid when they nail the setup, so i'm still not 100% sure that the other teams have caught up. And Redbull might come with insane upgrades given how old their design concept is
Ayo when did we start taking fp1 and fp2 so seriously? Fuel, tires, strats, long runs, pu mode, ect all play a huge part in why there is different times during these sessions. Let’s wait for fp3 and quali

0:30 Mercedes only managed to produce 1 new front wing and Lewis didn’t want it in case it got damaged and he would have to get a penalty for changing to the old wing in parc ferme

This could really happen for Leclerc this weekend, because Ferrari hasn't been making those rediculous strategy mistakes and missteps nearly as bad as they were before they made some internal changes. I wanna see LeClerc get this win, I really do. It will make him a better racer, and that will make things more interesting going forward. He needs to REALLY establish himself there as LH is incoming next year.
As always, neutral and fair analysis. Leclerc certainly has the car to beat on Monaco. Let's hope that Ferrari has a good strategy as well. That being said, the qualifying position will determine whether he will win or embrace the same fate as before.

I think Leclerc has a massive edge going into tomorrow. Max could find something extra of course but I think he is more targeting p2.
Oscar Piastri only used the Hards and Mediums in FP2 and came 2nd in FP1. He’s happy with the car.
Charles might very well get pole, but this is him vs Ferrari for the win. A near impossible battle. Really hope they do not screw him tomorrow.
I was honestly losing a bit of interest in Formula 1. After the bump up in quality from this account, it gave a whole other dimension to the sport. Thanks for keeping it entertaining in an extra way! Keep up the amazing work!
Hamilton did his time on the his 3rd lap and 2nd push lap so there was more pace from both hamilton and leclerc.
If i remember correctly, this year free practice has never resembled the actual race, we get ferrari or mclaren dominating FP and are subsequently presented to a Redbull 1-2.
If you ask me all bets are off, i'd personally like to see Alonso win after what happened last year.
some bumps are nasty here, you can easily lose 2 tenths if the car bottoms out

Max will win he was struggling with RB yesterday, but he'll pull out something magical today in Qualifying and then will cruise through the race at a pace that suits Redbull.
A source indicated that Red Bull ran lowest engine mode and top speed in grid so they maybe sandbagging. They might be showing real pace in Q3 Qualifying.

Tbh top speed doesn’t really matter for a track like Monaco
Engine mod won't give you car stability
In imola it made difference in the first sector for them
But here it will give them some tenths but it can even be a more problem the car wasn't looking good today

Max even said in the post practice interview, this won't be the same as Imola. Of course he's Max, but I think were gonna see red at the front row tomorrow. (Hopefully P1)
I disagree. RBR are throwing everything at this. And they need every fast lap that they can get since quali pace is everything this weekend. Remember that Hamilton had fastest race lap in 23 even though the car was a dog. This ain’t the place to sandbag. It’s the place to throw the gauntlet down and pile the pressure in the competition in every session.

Leclerc race pace is off because the mediums he used had done the quick pushes at the start of FP2 taking the life out of them and the spin turn before the start of his race run. Leclerc was in the 15s before came across Ocon and Piastri before having Perez ahead before dropping to the 17s and the low 16s. Hes there abouts with the others
Since the return of mercedes safety car it has become more interesting
So many Things can Happen in Monaco. A yellow or Red flag could Ruin a Leclerc run. So hard to predict the outcome

Leclerc has been very fast BUT McLaren dont usually show their full pace on Fridays, as evidenced by Norris using the same softs in FP1 and FP2 and Piastri didnt use the softs at all in FP2. Even if Leclerc gets pole hes still got to survive Ferraris strategy and the pressure he puts on himself.
