With all due respect to him, Coach Rob, but Christian’s problem requires a Sports Psychologist. As you point out, his speed, consistency and ability to perform at Championships is proven. I love Carl Lewis and he is my goat, but he flew off the handle foolishly. He's a coach and knows that you shouldn't judge from the outside in front of the world like that. The US has always had a wealth of talent in short sprints. This is both a blessing and a curse when it comes to relays in that different guys might be dominant over the course of a few years. Most countries have to rely on essentially the same guys over longer periods affording them more consistency in a relay race where the exchanges are crucial. If we picked a pool of 6 from our best 10 100/200 sprinters and stuck with them over 3 yrs, all of the hottest sprinters at the time of an important race might not even be in that 6.
