As a 6’3” guy looking at a Mazda5 for car-camping purposes, this was a very helpful video, lol. Thanks.

Love it. I've lived a harder life in my minivan but am on the look out for a Mazda 5 now.
Very cool engine too with a chain instead of a belt driven cam = will never break down.
Mazda = well thought out cars.
Your camper conversion has just made it into my new prospect.
I also cycle here in Switzerland up in the mountains and have been camping in a minivan until now.
This will be far more comfortable and also far more stealthy than a boxy van.
Just looks like someone has either broken down or left their car and gone for a walk. I love it. Thanks.
    Happy cycling.

Thank you for the comment! I honestly had no idea it had a chain instead of a belt, that's fantastic!
I've been happy with it, and it's a great stealth option, plus I can nurse it up to 29 MPG with mixed highway/city driving and A/C off while hypermiling

@@adventuringarizonan7453 Chains are great. No maintenance except correct oil levels in the engine.
I'm trying mine on 50 ethanol now. The injection changes automatically to suit better or worse quality petrol here in Europe so thats also a big plus. No need to tamper with the injection. the computer just varies the qtty to the engine :-)

Wow, this is great! Really liked the clear and concise use of footage coupled with the explanation.

Thank you! I was surprised how short it ended up being, but I was happy how it turned out

Could you send me the measurements of the platforms?

How tall are you? I recently purchased a mazda5. I am 5'11" and thinking its gonna be a tough fit between the folded middle seat and hatch.

How reliable are mazda 5s? I'm thinking of buying a mazda 5 (2016) with 260,000 kms on it.

I will admit, I didn't pick it because of its reliability. I got my 2009 mazda5 sport with 176k miles and I've put 11k miles on it in the first 9 months I've owned it. The things I read are the biggest issues are suspension related. For example, right now, I need to replace the shocks and struts all around, replace the front left axle, and replace the front left control arm. It still works without those fixes, and I got one that was in particularly rough condition. I would have rather have been able to get a Toyota or Honda, but no other car on the market had rear a/c for my kids, enough space for me to sleep with a bike inside, sliding doors for loading the kids easier, and a combined epa of 24mpg. Plus, since I live in phoenix right off the highway, and hypermile, I'm able to consistently get 29mpg.
