Morning Glyn, Looks good both ways. Only one issue to make you aware of, when the bullet seat is fitted, you will have to fit the rear foot pegs back on, or it will fail the mot. I found out the hardway on my sv650s. If theres a seat for pillion there must be foot pegs.
I love the bike with the Bullet seat. It is most certainly comfortable and You created a very personal Bullet / Classic machine. I changed my saddle last year for the touring seats on the 350 ( much more comfortable than the genuine ones in my opinion) and if I'd have known what I know now - because of You, Glyn - I would have gone for the Bullet touring seat.Perfect and it makes the bike look gorgeous and grown up. Form follows function.
Thanks for your comment, I hope you're enjoying your bike now. It will always be an option one day if you really want it 👍 Thanks very much for watching as always, Glyn
Hi Glyn, thanks so much for your brilliant video through the mountains, it shows how much fun you can have at lower speeds, planning overtakes like we used to do years ago! Please, please buys a Hunter for your next project to complete the three as I have a Scram and want to exchange it for the lighter, flickable Hunter, you could do so much with that bike, maybe baby Triumph style? Oh great, I just found out you can buy a speedo centre placement kit from Hitchcock's for the Hunter and Meteor! Good luck to you, Shakeel
Hello, thanks for your kind comments and for coming to watch the video 🙏 I've always liked the Hunter so am always on the eye out just in case. I have got a Hunter tank which I look at sometimes but that's as far as I've got!! Thanks for the heads up about the speedo bracket, I've just been for a look and it looks really good, I might get one for my Meteor👍
Well I have just removed the upgraded Classic touring seats on my Halcyon Green Classic 350 after watching your last video and purchased the identical Bullet touring seat. After fitting the first ride was a revelation now a total joy to ride like sitting on a sofa, but even better at a stop your feet are closer to the ground due to the narrower front and sloping sides of the seat compares to the straight sides of the Classic touring seat ! So I now have a Classic/Bullet, thanks Glyn for the inspiration. On a side note I will not be going back to the Classic touring seats, but then I have never removed the rear seat in two and a half years that I have owned my Classic 😊
That sounds ace Peter. Maybe Bullet style is the real magic and I saw it looks good with the green in your pictures on the UK Facebook group 👍 Enjoy your comfy riding 💪
Hi Peter - Ive seen you on TAYM's channel abit. Did you have to change the subframe when fitting the Bullet seat ? It looks like you have to from first looks. Cheers
@@tomstockell9481 if you have both Classic seats fitted you just remove them, the Bullet seat is then a straight swap. If the passenger seat has been removed you need to re fit the rear subframe . Glyns other video shows him fitting the Bullet seat and is well worth a watch 😊
Marvellous Glyn upholstery, are there any limits to your talents 😀 i really do love the look of the bike with classic 350 seat, the rear mudguard needs to be seen 😀 love it! 👍🏻
I fully agree that the low rider set looks much better for the style of the Classic 350, even more so with my military Marsh Grey. What really interests me is that this Bullet seat is supposedly more comfortable and 'especially', places you lower! That would be a big benefit for myself! If this Bullet seat also came in a model without the pillion, just a solo seat, I'd get it in a heartbeat!
I know what you mean, there's certainly an opening for chunky solo seat, I may even cut mine up so look out! Marsh grey is gorgeous, you're a lucky man👍
I have both, the bullet seat on my Classic and these covers that I've had on the Meteor for a couple of years. Personally I feel the covers make a world of difference to the comfort and look of the bike.
They are quite nice aren't they, it's stretched in really well now with no wrinkles and the comfort is pretty good so far. Well, I haven't noticed it to comment which is about as good as you can say I guess!
Glyn, thanks for this video. 3 things: I miss the days when I was in Wales in 1999 and this video made me remeber the countryside and especially the kindness and warmth one can always find in the welsh people. 2- Where did you get those great set of tires??? 3- I just subscribed to your channel. All the best! A. G.
Thanks very much for watching, I hope you enjoyed it. I'm sure it used to be sunnier in 1999!!! That's memory for you 🤪 The tyres are Shinko E270 front and rear, they come in black, whitewall, or thin double whitewall. They do an E240 also which is probably better as it's not so tall. I had to raise the front mudguard 25mm to clear these tyres but it looks good like that as you can see all the whitewall 👍
Wow ..what a lovely day... Beautiful scenery... views background 😍... Nice RE Classic 👌 Iam first time seeing that classic colour is it coustomed colour 👍 Single seat is the best choice 👍 White wall Tyre super vintage look❤ Iam the proud owner of the Royal Enfield Classic 500cc Desert Storm ✌️❤ from Fortkochi (India) Nice video 👍❤️
Great video as always Glyn. I may be a bit biased because I have a Bullet, but I prefer the look of the Bullet seat on Rusty. I think it fits in with the aesthetic quite well.
I knew you'd be biased 🤪 I've sat on the standard Bullet too and it's very comfortable too, no wonder you love riding it so much. I love the Bullet tank badges and gold pinstripes, so many lovely versions....
Thanks for this video Glyn. One day I would like to ride my Classic 350 Reborn on those Welsh roads. I ordered my bike with the front touring seat, and it's very comfortable. This Bullet seat option is interesting though. Where did you buy it?
Hello, thanks for watching. I picked it up secondhand on ebay but they're available in dealers in black or brown, or on ebay from sellers in India for a little cheaper👍
Yay!! speeded up ratcheting is my new favourite. I'm sure you could figure out a way of skilfully removing/hacking off the pillion section of the Bullet seat🤣👍
Hi glyn. Nice video as always! The touring seat is the kxa00060? Hitchcocks were out of stock but i pre ordered one. Yeah, it looks better with the solo seat but i will choose for a more comfort ride and my children like to take a ride on the 350. That and the short legs, i say no more. My little blue classic is in love with rusty and so am i, ha ha. Thanks again glyn, Berry
Hello! They are Shinko E270 front and rear, they do an E240 which are slightly lower. These are quite tall and the front mudguard is up on 25mm stilts or the tyre would be hard against the front mudguard 👍 They come in black, whitewall, or double (thin) whitewall
Evening Glyn from Quiberon 😊 on holiday, must admit it does look comfy, and looks “how can I say” complete on the bike poss as it fills that gap left by the original in the rain will the tank and mudguards continue to rust or am I an idiot 😳the oe seat cover looked pretty good on the original seat, i do find the original very comfortable though, and the original shows off your mods more 🤣 ….. HI Peter, hope you're having a good holiday, is that by Carnac, with the amazing standing stones? The bike is continuing to develop and it's patches and tone changes colour with the weather so it's very interesting, I'm never sure what it will look like from ride to ride! I've got more bits planned for this week, maybe tomorrow, so look out🤪
Can you retrofit the stock seat on the Bullet 350 J-series model on the Classic 350 Reborn and do a comparo between the stock seat and the touring seat?
A stock Bullet seat will fit too, I don't have one to try but I've sat on a new Bullet seat and it's also very nice, much better than the Classic solo seat too
@@ArunavaDas-v5d I've only had brief experience of the standard but my impression is it's very comfortable but perhaps feels 'smaller' under the butt than the touring one. Maybe it depends how big you are 👍

I think the standard seat looks better. Imo, But the bullet seat looks more comfortable. So I would keep both and use both for whatever kind of ride your doing at the time. For me, on looks alone, the single seat wins hands down. Incidentally, how do you wash your bike with the rust effect paint applied? Doesn't it all wash off? And, the finnish looks very dry and dusty, doesn't it come off onto your clothes etc? Stunning looking machine by the way.😊
Hi John, weirdly it doesn't seem to get dirty, although it's hard to tell?? I wash it with plain water from a hose and let it dry. The finish is dry and you can make yourself a bit rusty if you rub it hard enough, but it's actually very tough, so I don't rub it too much. I may seal it with a matte lacquer once it settles down as it's still 'developing'
@GlynOC when and at what stage does it settle down Glyn? Or is that in the hands of God's? And once it's sealed from the air it stops changing? Special lacquer required?
