I get the whole exclusivity fight lol, but I can’t date multiple women. Before I made it official with my gf, we “dated” for 3 months. But during that time, we were exclusive. It’s a risk you have to take. If it doesn’t work, set a timeframe, and then on to the next. It’s quality over quantity.

Regarding dating, agree some people jump in to exclusivity too quickly. Date a few people and figure out what you want/need. Helps you figure out if you are ready for a relationship or just want fun/companionship at the moment. The challenge with dating multiple people is making sure you are actually getting to know each person and it’s not just surface or sexual attraction. Do what works for you but make sure you’re being honest and realistic with yourself and your dates.

I totally agree with Tony about exclusivity. Anytime I've had these conversations and mentioned that, people keep calling me, "unserious".
That’s because when you tell someone you’re dating that you’re keeping your options open, it sounds like you’re just looking for sex. Unfortunately in today’s world, it’s hard to believe otherwise.
I definitely understand the reasoning behind dating around. It makes perfect sense. But knowing me, I could never truly date someone who is dating others without keeping my guard up. So more than likely, nothing would ever get beyond just shallow dating. It would always remain surface level. So I think that’s why people call you unserious because they can’t allow any form of emotion to develop for someone who is “shopping around”. I don’t think it’s anything personal, it’s just a person natural way of protecting their feelings.
@jwdathefax377 For sure! Funny enough, we kinda look for the unicorns when dating but dodge them when they appear. Maybe because of baggage or the sheer unlikelihood of it all lol.

Whether we date one person at a time or multiple, our emotions are always on the line, there's simply no dodging that. It's like receiving bad news now or in 5 minutes -- still hurts all the same. That's the price of admission.
Someone could tell you they've only got eyes for you to get your heart while seeing someone else secretly, which would be doubly as painful if you find out. As time has passed, I've embraced that (for me) this philosophy is to ensure my future spouse and I find our best fit and hopefully my partner does the same, so once we decide to commit together, no strong fomo or curiosities remain -- I've seen what's out there and YOU are the best there is. We're strangers, let's see if we truly love beyond the rose tint.
To me, the general way to protect emotions are through honest conversation, discussion of boundaries and enforcing it; understanding there's a finite amount of time willing to be invested or I too could be smitten by another. General respect and trust in the other to abide and yourself to survive regardless. Controlling the controllable.

I definitely think dating around is smart but realistically, I don’t know too many people who will invest the same energy into someone who is “shopping around”. Like, if a guy tells me he is shopping around, which I would love the honesty, I would hang out with that person if I’m free, but the intent of it leading to more wouldn’t be a real expectation so I would move very differently. Meaning my guard would always remain up, so we would never get beyond surface level. We would probably just end up being just good friends lol.. maybe with some benefits. 🤷🏾♀️ But Im not pressed about relationships, so Im whatever with it. As long as my health, finances and family is good… and I can travel…Im happy…

I used to do maintenance at apartment complex for about 8 years and I tell you it was 50/50 on sigle woman cleanliness. A lot dirtier than you would think. Guys tended to be more clean, no sense in decoration but a lot cleaner. 😅

Which isn't diff from the opp. sex but for many women the financial security piece is a really big thing; options are more abundant but the pool feels smaller since men aren't looking for that type of security in relationship generally

The art of dating died in the 90s. Something shifted. I used to be able to go out on dates. I don't know how that happened. Oh, I got married. By the time I was free to date again, multiple dates with different people was almost non-existent
