  • Bigger, fast moving fish up shallow, like barramundi, benefit from you turning your forward facing live sonar transducer sideways to get the full picture and the best chance of catching a fish.

Very good way you have done this. Love the combined drone over the sounder.

I was lucky enough recently to spend a day on a lake in Nebraska chasing Largemouth Bass. My guide for the day had a Live-Scope imaging system. A few things sprang to mind whilst using it. Firstly, the targets are nowhere near as "fish-like" on the screen as what the manufacturer would have you believe - call them "moving blobs" if you're lucky, just "blobs" if they're suspended, so target separation wasn't brilliant. Secondly, just because you can see the fish doesn't mean they're going to bite. Thirdly, and this is my take, the "fishing experience" just isn't the same when you're busy watching a screen. Sure a little bit of help in the way of regular 2D sonar/GPS and even structure-scan is invaluable in hunting structure, but if I want to spend the day watching telly, I think I'd rather just do that...

Respect your opinion, but the video is just about showing you how it works, not compelling you to use it. Some say LiveScope is cheating. Others say hiring a guide is cheating ... lucky we are all free to do what we want!

What mount do you run the transducer on?

The standard perspective mount that comes with the LVS 34 - mounted on my Power Pole MOVE electric motor.
