    This is a timely video. I purchased a new standard Sniper from an individual and I'm in the processes of putting it on an old school draw through Martin Turbosystem that puts out about 7psi of boost. Ive got questions but the more I re-watch the video the more I learn. Thanks

    I just purchased a Holley sniper. I installed it on a 350 with a roots style supercharger. I did what U covered in a previous vid about configuring it with the hand held to a super sniper then running it back as a sniper. Still really new at it. Need to do what U are describing in this vid next. Can u help if I send u the files ? To just do a check ?

    This video is exactly what I've been looking for! Trying to help buddy figure out his 67 mustang 289 sniper issue of WOT pulls amazing to 5000rpm and breaks up horribly and plugs indicate lean condition. Guess we have some serious fuel base map tuning to so haha

    • @TurboCamaro67
      @TurboCamaro67  5 років тому +1

      I'm glad you've found the video helpful. The Sniper system will Probably richen the mix at WOT eventually but only after a significant number of pulls. Definitly better to go in there yourself and tune it to a closer starting point.

    I get how to do all of this but im literally just trying to find the correct software program for a holley 2300 efi. The program you are on, what is it called on holley's website? I need the name of this program word for word. There are a bunch of downloads for the sniper efi. Which one do you click for the actual tuning program?

    • @TurboCamaro67
      @TurboCamaro67  4 роки тому

      It looks like they've changed the site a bit since I last downloaded so. I can't help. Honestly I'd give Holley a quick message or call and they can easily tell you the best download/version for your setup.

    Good stuff. My super sniper kit should be here soon. Did you learn the tricks of over writing axis values then auto filling, etc. in the instructions, or figured it out on your own?

    • @TurboCamaro67
      @TurboCamaro67  5 років тому +1

      I figured it out on my own. The included paper instructions were good for installing the kit but had almost no information about the software. The Sniper efi online manual has some useful information but honestly watching my video and just tinkering with it will probably be the best way to learn. I was very generic with my tuning in the video as I didn't want to encourage people to go aggressively rich or lean right out the gate.once you have a custom tune setup and you drive around you'll get a feel for what the car needs and where you can make adjustments. It's "fun" if you like those sort of things 😁

    Hi
    Can you add oil pressure input to the sniper?

  • @jasonjackson7541

    Is the base fuel table totally independent of the AFR table? I have my 4150 running with the handheld on my turbo 406 sbc and I'm ready to start the laptop tuning. I have afr and timing tables built in excel to mimic in the software but not sure on the base fuel table

    • @TurboCamaro67
      @TurboCamaro67  5 років тому

      Sounds like you've got the right idea. You want to insert/paste your AFR table and Timing numbers into the tables and allow the Sniper system to generate its own fuel table. The fuel table is basically a reference for the Sniper EFI system as to how much fuel to push at any particular time based on the AFR and Timing numbers you set. Once your system has some solid numbers there, you can smooth and blend those numbers as shown in the video for a smoother overall fuel flow.

    With all of your custom tuning, what kind of fuel economy are you seeing?

    • @TurboCamaro67
      @TurboCamaro67  5 років тому +1

      Fuel economy is actually decent as I'm not nearly as heavy footed as I was when it was done. I drive it everywhere and it seems to sip gas well. It's really just a built up 250 with fuel injection when driving normally. I'd like to give you an actual MPG but I honestly don't know. I should finish the current project and consider getting those numbers.

    I just bought the 550-511 and I thought there would be an option for boost but the manual says there isn't, I didn't hook it up yet but I plan on running 10 to 12 lbs of boost, can I just update the firmware and will the option be there or not? Thanks

    • @TurboCamaro67
      @TurboCamaro67  5 років тому

      Technically the "boost" option is in the software but you need to use Holley's hardware to take advantage of it. Either way, the default system is capable of supporting boost out of the box. You MUST custom tune the fuel table with a computer before hitting boost as the default tables are not configured to properly provide fuel or timing in boost.

    How much power are you estimating your engine has. Im currently looking at doing the same setup but on a 202ci gm holden straight 6 but i think the 4150 sniper might be to big.

    • @TurboCamaro67
      @TurboCamaro67  6 років тому

      People smarter than I have estimated over 400HP and TQ at 8psi boost. I've driven several mostly stock V8's (327/350) and this is noticeably more powerful than those. I'm planning a dyno trip at some point but I have a few upgrades left to do. You could always consider the 2 barrel Sniper setup for less than 350HP. If you don't plan to go quite as aggressive with boost or want a slightly tamer daily driver that Sniper might be a better fit. www.efisystempro.com/sniper/sniper-2300-2bbl-kits

    • @jamierobinson5620

      Turbo Camaro thanks mate that helps a bit. Im running a standard head with a bit of porting and i quite aggressive cam for turbo with around 12 psi. I had major tuning issues with my 600dp. Thats why im trying to work out which sniper would be best.

    • @TurboCamaro67
      @TurboCamaro67  6 років тому

      Yeah I had issues with the 600dp as well. My estimate of 400ho includes the 8PSI boost l, including the oversized valves, 292 exhaust manifold and meth/water Injection. I know the 4bbl Sniper has no issues with smaller motors, but obviously you don't want to buy it if you only need the 2bbl version. The 2bbl version wasnt out when I got the 4bbl version, but I'm happy with the 4bbl just for the interchangeability of it with a different setup. Maybe someday I decide to get a big block instead and the larger Sniper would be best on that setup. It'll work in any motor I use.

    Was this for a sniper or a super sniper?

    • @TurboCamaro67
      @TurboCamaro67  3 роки тому

      All of my videos are about the non-super Sniper EFI. The method will be similar but the Super Sniper is more prepared to handle higher boost and nitrous out of the box.

  • @alvaroapache
    @alvaroapache 5 років тому

    Is 16 the highest psi that it will handle or is there a way to manipulate the software to run 30psi?

      Great video by the way.

    • @TurboCamaro67
      @TurboCamaro67  5 років тому +1

      In theory the 2 bar map sensor is limited to reading up to 15psi. I believe you can enter whatever values you want in the software. It would just be a matter of upgrading to a 3 bar map sensor and you could boost higher. I haven't looked into swapping it. I know it can be done on the Holley Terminator EFI products so perhaps you can on the sniper as well.

    That EFI system is not cheap, has it been worth it to you???

    • @TurboCamaro67
      @TurboCamaro67  6 років тому +2

      Yeah, $1000 is a big chunk of change but it's a very high quality product and complete. Having to frequently adjust a carburetor for turbo and alcohol injection was time consuming and too finicky. The tunability and drivability is fantastic. I find it fun to play with, where the carburetor was more of an annoyance. I don't regret it at all.

    • @johnparrish9215
      @johnparrish9215 6 років тому

      Well when you think about it, a boost ready Holley that has been moded by a quality company is about $600 to $800, that makes the Sniper a far better value. I've been looking at a turbo system I saw on UA-cam built by DeBoss Garage that uses twin parallel staged turbos. It's very interesting, exhaust goes to a small turbo for low end torque, and then at about 8 psi a gate opens to a larger turbo for top end power. I think it could be done easily with cheap simple turbos with the use of a Loud Valve that is boost referenced. Go check it out at the DeBoss Garage channel, its the LS engine in the Audi Quatro.

    • @TurboCamaro67
      @TurboCamaro67  6 років тому

      John Parrish yeah that sounds great! You're right about the carburetor to EFI value. I know I spent $150 on my carb core, another $100 on the rebuild kit and other missing components and then had a working, but truly inferior fuel system. I'm pretty much at a set it and forget it stage now and that suits me just fine. That progressive turbo build sounds great. Probably a little over the top for my needs, but that's still fantastic, I'll take a look right now.

    Can you also do this with the 2300 2bbl version?

    • @TurboCamaro67
      @TurboCamaro67  6 років тому +1

      You sure can. Technically the 2bbl may have been enough to support this engine but with the turbo, and considering future upgrade potential, I'm happy with the 4bbl.

      Hey Johnny, that's an interesting proposition but I don't think I'm willing to take the liability. Their must be a shop in your area, with a dyno perhaps, that will help with this sort of thing. Usually shops. Specializing in import tuning do these sorts of setups too.
