Hi Tom I gotta say WOW! they are amazing gems you got out of that parcel. I'm so excited for you 👏 Great cutting too with a very nice polish. I would love to share your video too 😊 The girls in the office think this was such a sweet video.
You did a really nice job! You definitely got your money's worth! I'm sure that they are fine jewelry boutiques that would be very interested in your gems!
Glad Justin offered to make it right. I watch him all the time and don't believe he would rip some one off intentionally. Also, nice job on getting some good gems cut!!
You definitely got your money's worth. I didn't do as well on a $5k parcel from Black Opal Direct, but i have learned so much from Justin that it doesn't really matter to me. I don't think I'll ever buy another parcel without holding it in my hand though. Go to the Tucson shows if you want to buy opal and can't get to Australia.
Glad to see that you cut some awesome stones from the parcel. I have always wondered about buying a raw parcel and trying to cut some stones myself. I think that it would be fun to give them to people with an October bday and there are 7 in my family
Well, not an absolute beginner. My grandfather taught me how to make a cabochon, but I had never cut precious opal before. It's not the same as cutting an agate.
good video and you got very decent value out of the parcel you got good dome and shape on some of them . very realistic presentation i enjoyed it thank you
I was looking for other opal cutting videos because I’ve seen all of Justin’s videos, came across this one. Those are some pretty stones, congratulations.
Those are very bright and nice and dark, and you will be able to sell them with no problem!! People love that blue, trust me!! It takes a while to sell but once you have them in pendants or rings the better. Awesome job!!👻🤪🌶🤘😎♾️
I bought a similar package for $500.00. Yours are much nicer than the ones I got. I found its easy to buy Opal Everywhere, and very hard to sell it. No body wanted my green black opals. I took them to like 20 different shops. Everyone only wants Gold, Red, and Bright blue and green. If I ever did it again, I would only buy top end rough with gold and red colors :) Take them to a pawn shop, or Jewelers District and ask them who buys and sells the most opal. Looks Ike you did a good job cutting the stones you got :) Good Luck
You got ripped off, these guys only sell the stones they don't cut themselves because there simply not worth it to be cut. Lets be honest, nobody will pay 100 dollar per carat for the stones you got out off that parcel
@@erwinrenneboog4661And if he gets $50 a carat, he still makes money, us the experience and the practice, plus the revenue from the channel. I think he did very well for his first time out. 👏👏👍👍
@erwinrenneboog4661 but even if he only managed to sell them for $40 per carat then he's made a profit! Are you saying the stones aren't even worth that much on average? (While a couple could maybe do with a bit more shaping imho, generally they look pretty bright and well cut to me, so I wouldn't think he's much risk of losing money.) 🤔
I am so happy for you, just watched your original unboxing video and was hoping there was a update and here it is😅, i also got into cutting opals recently within the past year, its awsome, you got great skill my friend please keep making videos
Good Job ! I have a very hard time getting to the level of $ worthwhile , can’t afford expensive parcels , therefore kind of frustrated with the Opal $ world . If I didn’t completely ❤ Opals I Quit . You did an excellent job , nice video !
Its one of the accepted definitions. A broad definition would be any error typically made by an office worker including spelling, math, missing dates etc.
I think it was a typo. Justin did the correct thing in offering a full refund. I am glad Tom kept it! Some really stunning stones were cut! Congratulations Tom!
The conversation should have been I paid for 563 you sent 263 I want my money back and I want my return shipping paid for and I never want to deal with you again. Short weight mistake or not is unforgivable in the Industry. Its a Cardinal Sin, it gets people topped.
I can’t wait to see what you make in the future! I really enjoy your videos, and if and when you decide to make jewelry, I will be the first line to purchase whatever lovely things you make!
You did a great job for first time cut. The quality of the parcel for price left me a little upset at B.O.D. Justin is a good man a busy man. When your that busy things like this happen. Recently I was horned to have opal cutter with 30 years experience come look at my work and my workshop he was amazed how I get the job down with hardly any knowledge and tools. The first thing he said to me after my little tourer was this. YOUR INEXPERIENCED SHOWS UP MY EXPERIENCE A THOUSAND FOLD. sorry for rattling on Tom . Opal has changed my life
typo on the web site very correct of Justin to offer a full refund Sorry your camera was not brilliant for showing the opal couldn't see the green at all and the colours on those opals were blurry so i cant tell how well they cut i really dont think Justin is the type of person who would deliberately set out to sell rip off deals on his website and as you know its a risk you take with any opal I do think that cutting the stones so you could grind out some of the clear areas leaving smaller but brighter more uniform stones could have produced a higher potential value but that will only come with experience as you know

What a wonderful result from the parcel. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you for the compliment, but most of all, thank you for introducing me to my new hobby.

Nice work cutting those gems. You did a great job! They look amazing.
Nice rocks, I think they are worth their money! Justin is okay. He's the real deal.
Mate you done a good job on cutting for a beginner, very well friend. ✌️❤️🙏⛏️

I know, it's a great result.
I think you did a GREAT job. Loved your review of Black Opal Direct.
Beautiful stones and think you were smart to keep that batch, there is no guarantee that a heavier batch would have cut better. Nice Job.

I will have to sell them online. My small town doesn't have anywhere to sell gems.

Nice work! You got a decent haul from that parcel :)
Thank you. I think I did pretty well.
Stay with it bro, 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿
Here to say those are worth more than 4200$ for sure! Turned out to be very beautiful stones
Good for you, man. Algorithm +1
Thanks.

Wow!!!! It turned out very nice!!!!❤❤❤❤

Oh buddy...you have value here WAY more than what you paid for this parcel.
So, a clerical error = a typo.
Maybe that's American english versus the other side of the pond (went back to the unboxing video to figure that out)

If it had been intentional I might have agreed with you but it wasn't and I got my value out of the stones anyway.
Not gonna lie, I'm a bit jealous.
🥰🥰🥰 That was actually a great parcel!
Are you going to sell these lovely gems? I’d love to have one set in a pendant!
These ones I probably wont sell since they are my first. I have and will cut more and I am learning silver smithing to make them into jewelry.
I can’t wait to see what you make in the future! I really enjoy your videos, and if and when you decide to make jewelry, I will be the first line to purchase whatever lovely things you make!
What was the “clerical “ error? Who made it?
The total weight of the stones was recorded incorrectly.

You didn't want to do calibrated oval shapes?
How are you going to set them?
I will make my own settings.
Is it windy there?
Yes

He absolutely isn't that type of person. Having met him, twice, he is one of the nicest people you could find.
Justin is a really good human being. 🥰🥰

Kurasa tidak..buktinya dia kena tipu.
Did he not offer to send the rest? He was willing to refund a shorted package so it would seem he be willing to simply send the rest..
The package was not shorted. I received all the stones pictured in the listing. They just wrote down the wrong weight.
@@TomsBackyardWorkshoppeople make mistakes, and a reputable person would do exactly what Justin did.
The reason why your not getting views is you have no personality you are flat just telling the truth
That is my personality. I think they call it autism these days.
