You make the job alot harder. I just replaced my water pump on my '85 Toy pu with 22R motor and didn't touch the radiator ect. My Pep Boys water pump came with a New Gasket in the box. I recommend tightening the bolts lightly and then waiting an hour before really tightening the bolts.
What was your reason to take the radiator out and you didn't have to put the rtv on the bolts I changed the water pump on my 85 never had a problem after
Sorry for the late response. i took the radiator out just for more room, you can just drain it. RTV was just a safety precaution, if done correctly it doesnt need it. I just use it as a precaution as im not tooo confident in the work i do. Im still learning.
Great Video !!!! Ready to turn wrenches now!!!!!

Not maybe people do this.. let is slightly cure then torque it down is the way I've always done also with anything with rtv.
take one bolt out of the old water pump, then put the bolt in the corresponding hole in the new pump on the ground to keep track, way easier
Great Video brother. Simple, to the point and helpful. Thanks so much.
Thanks for taking your time and sharing this video
Good tip Good information i have a question about that gauge is it for fuel pump pressure?
Yes, carb pressure is about 5-7 psi on stock carbs so its nice to make sure everything is working. Weber carbs run as low as 3.5 psi.
Yo where did you get that rubber intake boot going from air cleaner housing too radiator

what is the torque spec for the water pump?
Ricardo Gonzalez Yes,he never tells us. I did 75inlbs on 6mm + 150inlbs on the 8mm long bolt.
Use Loctite on bolt threads. It prevents the bolt from coming loose AND seals water from coming through.
If you dinked a Badwaiser you ara a good mechanic!!! 🤣🤣👍
