I know it's a numbers game, but there should be no other reason they cancel this show. It was profound and I wish there were more quality shows like it!
@@divinesoda7186 I agree, especially from the perspective of portraying Arabs/Muslims authentically and casting real Arab actors. Netflix seems to be leading in this regard.

When I watched the show...after the tornado you could not convince me otherwise he was either what he claimed or keanu reeves lol....aint no magician can stand in front a tornado bro lol
Exactly! You get it! He fulfils THEIR need for a messiah, but he clearly plays along for his own agenda, whatever that truly is in the end. Maybe the question we are asking is wrong. Maybe he is both real and fake in some way.
Right! He never claimed to be the Messiah. That’s what people chose to assume. I think the producers of this show may have gotten some of their ideas from this book called “The Twelth Imam” which deals with a self proclaimed Messiah in the Middle East.
The guy: 1) Walks on water 2) Knows people's names and secrets 3) Survives a plane crash 4) Stands in the open during a hurricane and a sand storm. He might not be the Messiah, but he is more than a magician and his answers are very cool.
Im a catholic n i found it entertaining.. i didnt find anyhing offensive against muslim or christianity .. everyone called him a messiah and he didnt. He chose "messenger". And yes the show is about people and how we react to messiah figure. It gives us a different angle on how fanatics are created and i think it was brilliant how they infused various religions. I would like to see more infusion of the buddhist thinking. Maybe the ending should leave us hanging so we can find comfort in our own respective beliefs.
@@ThebeOG because we are evolved humans in the 21st century. Imagine thinking art or an expression is blasphemy towards an all powerful allah. Either Allah isn’t all powerful or he is sensitive and gets his feelings hurt by his creations expressions. Which makes nonsense because he should know before I was born I was going to call him a a fake deity. So why would he create me? To be a sadistic god who just creates people to burn them in hell? Well if that’s the case. That is not a god worthy of worship.
This was the best series I've ever seen. And it sucks that Netflixs shut it down on the excuse of nobody watched. It was too controversial and full of complex thought that was gripping. Again,. I would fire the CEO of Netflixs who put the end to this series. Shameful.
Great analysis! I think Payam is just a man. His incredible luck in surviving all these catastrophes is the only thing that makes me pause, but I think what's really fascinating are the people's reactions to someone like him. What's the most striking about the show is the human desire to believe in higher power and how it can be good for some, but end tragically for others. And another thing is that it pulls in the viewers and makes them wish for Payam to be a real messiah! But I like the warning against the dangerous and naive belief that one man can come from nowhere and solve all the world's problems. That's never happened with any of the historical messianic figures after all, for example Jesus didn't defeat Roman Empire. I hope the show will continue being smart and keeping us on our toes without going full on with miracles.
@@hecantguardme15 which is exactly what the dajall will do he’ll be able to bring people back to life but not as themselves , he will bring food and water back to places in famine and drought , he will be able to be in multiple places at once, and he’ll be involved with politics
If you ask the great Roman historian who is also the authority on Roman history - Edward gibbons, Christ did absolutely defeat the Roman Empire, either by co-opting it for its own purposes or via its gradual decline, either way Christianity consumed the Roman Empire . Also dismissing messiahs as simply a consequence of wishful thinking is too simplistic and ultimately a straw man argument, if it truly were dismissed so easily- then the concept wouldn’t of lasted, there’s a fundamental mystery at the heart of all messiahs that we are unable to explain via materialistic explanations, this is why messiahs have remained in many cultures, because they cannot be explained away not because they can. Herbert’s critique is ultimately naive and Marxist in spirit. He’s right about power attracting the corruptible though
I think they made many allusions to Jesus (Yeshua) in many cases: 1. In one scene, being detained and interrogated by Avriam, he was asked who he was. He answered “The Word.” 2. In that same interview he mentioned that God was his father. 3. In the scene in Washington, Al-Masih walks on water. 4. Being interrogated by the U.S. President, Al-Masih mentions a “thousand-year period of peace”. In Biblical scripture, Jesus (Yeshua) is predicted to return and reign on Earth for a thousand years... bringing true peace worldwide 🌍

This is one of the best overviews and discussions about Messiah that I have seen or read yet. I love how the show looks at many different perspectives, how characters are not black and white, and how so many people seem to project what they need to believe about the Messiah, onto al-Masih. He never once says he is the Messiah, yet so many follow him because the believe he is. I agree the show is a good starting point for many discussions about religion and beliefs. Thank you for this video.
Very kind of you, thank you! You're right, he doesn't even call himself "al-Masih." It will be interesting to see where they go if Netflix makes a season 2!
I really believe if something like that actually happened he would, like in the show be hunted as a terrorist by multiple countries. The show was very thought provoking that spans all Faith's including all the versions of Christianity and Islam. I found the sit down with McDermott Malrouney's character who is a Mormon, very very fascinating. Using Mormon doctrine in conversation to challenge him was a great scene! Loved the show and thanks for the video!
Yes I agree and I like the idea of "hunting" Payam and perhaps using him for their own gains in the future storyline. There are a lot of interesting directions they can go in.
Absolutely excellent video, I’m glad that there is at least one creator on this site that gives this show a great in-depth look that isn’t a “my review of...”. This video is very informative and I’m glad I got to hear your perspective. Will definitely be checking out more of your stuff. Good shit man.
THIS WAS AN INTELLIGENT, THOUGHT-PROVOKING TV SHOW! It's not formulaic, repeat cliched dynamic writing or situations. It should NOT have been cancelled! The zealots and fanatics cannot and should not be allowed to interfere with the critical thought process. It's rare when such shows present to stimulate the minds and interest of the people! These religious fundamentals are a really fragile lot! Their dogma demands they eliminate the thought process in favor of the rote, indoctrination forced upon them from birth. Educational programs such as this should never be suppressed. *THIS SERIES SHOULD BE CONTINUED ANOTHER 2 SEASONS AT LEAST!*
@@secretsofdune this series was shot in many different places in the world, during the time of a global pandemic where even the most minute of shows could not be filmed. Sometimes the simplest answer is the best.
Secrets of Dune: haha yeah I may have to watch it again sometime. I thought it was great. It gets people thinking.. especially about abrahamic religions and the ways they inhibit humanity from true progression into future humans.
Smokiebad S: I never said that. I don’t believe atheism is healthy and neither is nihilism. Ever notice how we are surrounded by abrahamic religion yet void of spirituality and god seems absent? Yes Abrahamic religion has been a pillar of civilization for over a thousand years but it’s also set humanity back just as equally with the burning of libraries, texts, science, and centuries of bloody war and conflict. We are spiritually and culturally sick.. I was confirmed Lutheran and am surrounded by Baptist’s in the southern US. I’ve rarely seen Christianity make people good or spiritualized. I studied AP Islam in college. Many Islamic practices are primitive and tribal, and certainly don’t have a place in the future of humanity unless we all convert.. which is the actual main goal of Islam. Judaism is probably the worst with how tribal they are, especially US Jews. They have conglomerated power within media, banking, government, and powerful corporations. They help their own and could give a shit about the rest of us. How do these three tribes of Abraham do any good for us now? Tribes don’t work in a country of 300 million. Tribes don’t work in a world of 8 billion.
This show kinda reminds me of this novel called “The Twelth Imam” by Joel Rosenberg... which deals with a mysterious Messiah-like figure showing up in the Middle East.
I really enjoyed the show. I was very entertained. From an artistic point of view I think they chose a great actor who played the part very well. The dialogue was well written. I enjoyed the power that was produced from the vague minimal answers and actions of the Messiah character. He left others to draw their own conclusions, right or wrong. The character made you think and there was definitely a mystique about him which is just fun in my opinion. It would have been interesting to see what direction they would have taken this show. I'm disappointed that it got cancelled. 😞
Very interesting how they chose the President to be a Latter Day Saint... in other words Mormon. Latter Day Saints believe that we are living in the end days and the Director was able to capture that when Payam spoke to the President.
I love the show, have watched it several times. I think what's interesting are the qualities that a charismatic leader has, that can be cultivated in other people. The positive qualities of being fully present, loving, calm, confident. Maybe we should all look at PG as someone who is teaching others how to be their own leaders. It made me think that he is an enlightened being due to the fact that he is able to read people so well...knowing their names and their past, their sins, their fears. He channels some energy and is able to tap into people's psyches. I found this to be fascinating and I loved how it was done in the show. I also noticed that he did not heal the people who were out for themselves, who came from a selfish place, not understanding the way God works. Sometimes your wishes are not always answered the way that you would like to. I believe he is an enlightened being, modeling for people how to be more enlightened themselves. Just my two cents, this is how I interpreted the show.
I didn't know this was already out on Netflix. After watching your video I want to watch this show, and you sold it way better than the trailer did. I've always had a thing where I have to read, or watch anything that is forbidden or banned. This was a very well done video, and you have such a mellow voice for narration it has an ASMR effect. You should totally do more videos like this. Your like the Bob Ross of the Dune fandom.
That's very kind of you. I hope to make some more "happy little accidents" in future. Apologies for the spoilers in the video, but at least you'll finally watch the show.
That was a beautiful video. I was fascinated by this show--so well done, and it seemed to me that no one was talking about it when it came out. I was deeply disappointed that it was cancelled, but not surprised. These are explorations we need have on so many levels.
The way I assess this is that he’s a gentle, good man with ideological ideas, and x-man-like powers of healing (brings the dead back, heals wounds), and telepathy (knowing secrets of any person within his reach). And maybe levitation ( walking into water). I don’t get that at all at how so many people comment on him being the anti christ. That is so weird to me.
@@secretsofdune Or - just born different...(like the movie Highlander. They're born different, with special abilities, and seen as either gods, messiahs, or with typical humans who fear what don't know, the devil. There's many ways to take this route. But you know, even if they go down the route of this dude Payat beign the actual jesus coming back to earth, being his 2nd coming, I'd also be cool with that. Remember that jesus never claimed to be a god or THE god. He said he's the son of god. Whichever way they'll go, I'll enjoy watching it nonetheless. I'm really enjoying this series, and I also LOVE how it's got all religious people who watch this, in a frenzy! The series certainly is having a reaction, and I'm sure the producers anitcipated this.
@@Domzdream I agree and personally, I like to see how religious groups are reacting to it because it says a lot about some of the thought processes within those groups, good and bad. That's why I wanted to make this video, to kind of delve in to that reaction and provide some clarity. One thing some of these groups do is jump to conclusions and immediately condemn things they haven't taken the time to understand, rather than use it as a talking point. That bothers me because they should know better. Thanks for your great points and feedback!
I am super curious if there will be a season 2. I know it maybe cliseic but it would be nice for them to redirect the series ( if there would be any more season) in a direction of humanity ascension and each person to start following their own inner Messiah, like he stated many times during the first season..he is a meesage...
I might know why Eva so depressed when the plane crashed. She wanted to know how his work and who is his team that give him the information about Eva's or Aviram's personal life. I wait for it till the end and there's no answer :(
This is such a great show, as it questions ones self while the story blurrs the line between modern and mystical religious ness. This is a great tool, do not run away from it.
This is something that can change the world if we look past the religion, politics and controversies and look upon the message that it has about our world
After studying how the books in the Bible and ancient stories were created I’ve come to a few conclusion. One of which is that; at times, people take themselves and life waaayyyyy too seriously.
The show is really good and thought provoking. Surprisingly serious and not cliched. I would like to suggest reading the Prince of Nothing series by R.Scott Bakker. A story inspired by history and Dune, following the story of a controversial and charismatic messianic figure. Its a flawless and thought provoking series. A philosophical, insightful and grim human study
Incredible series! It’s a shame it won’t be continued. I love how all faiths were not Demonized. Rather it was about individual reaction/gullibility/faith. The coin failure was a subtle twist. Just fascinating.
Not to mention how the boy here 5:49 is literally called Jibril which is the Arabic version of Gabriel and as well all know, Muslims believe in that angel Jibril (Gabriel) is the one who revealed the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) from God.
Can someone tell me if the messiah has godly powers or a magician. I thought he was a magician but the the plane crash left me wondering. This series is so gripping. Im not religious but it makes me want to believe in him.
The nature of his abilities is ambiguous. The show is designed to make you want to believe in him and then to question why you do I think. It definitely is a fascinating show.
What would you have liked to have seen in the season's ending? When the plane crashed, it was a perfect setup for a one eyed hideous looking dajjal. They didn't go through with it though. Perhaps it can be said of the series that it does sit on the fence as to whether or not he is actually the dajjal, but as I say, the series was never really about that.
Great analysis! One of my favourite shows on Netflix! Shame it wasn’t renewed but the actor himself said that the ending explained all… Also I found it odd he posted on his instagram page on the 8/11/2024 a clip from show which he hasn’t done in a long time as he had made it quite clear he had moved on from the messiah. The scene he posted was an ominous one I thought - regards a flood! The other part I will highlight is that it was the Palestinians whom were his believers & the Israelis who were his captors along with the USA ! Very telling for the times we’re living in!
@@sdw8680 I'd love a continuation, but I guess I've made my peace with the fact that it is likely all we'll get. I do wish one day they would at least state the plan for what the second season would have looked like.
I am not religious (raised Baptist) yet I found the ending redemptive and beautiful. The character Avi was so tormented with guilt and rage, I wanted him to seek and be given forgiveness. I loved the twist of having a shepherd child witness a miracle - a child we we will not be wisely believed because he’s been established as a boy who invents tales. Personally, I hope the series ends here. I want the ending we were given, which feels personal and intimate, and not the apocalyptic battle between good and evil that a second season would likely bring.
Very true about the shepherd boy. Avi's story in the end was heartbreaking. If there is another season I would like to see him as a man seeking redemption and changing his life, perhaps even following Payam. If this is the only season, I'd be okay with that because sometimes I like stories that allow us to imagine the lives of characters in the future. There have been some conclusions made to some stories that I wish I hadn't seen or known. Part of the "magic" is making up your own continuation of a story.
I'm hoping for a second season but I wouldn't want to see any apocalyptic battles. They would have to turn it into an action show instead of the thoughtful and reflective thriller/drama it works so well as. I hope it continues to ask questions of the audience instead of giving outright answers.
@@vanyadolly I agree and I actually think that part of the charm of this series is the "is he, isn't he" questioning. If they do green-light a second season, I don't think they will give any definitive answers, and that's a good thing.
I've watched this series through twice and am half way through watching again. It's jam packed with references that people of different faiths can relate to, but I think most of all, it gives an modern insight into how people would relate to a person of Jesus's stature and intent if He were to be in the world in this day and age. Thanks to social media, it is very conceivable that His message and news of His actions would spread like wild fire, and the reactions by the powers that be to the Al Masih character in the series, equate to the reactions of the powerful and religious leadership 2000 plus years ago. The series then in another context, highlights Jesus's Message, which Muslims concur, was derived directly from God, as they revere Him as a Prophet of great standing and many Muslims believe, He will come again. I think it is very early days to make conclusive statements as to who the character Al Masih is really portraying (eg antichrist, Christ, false prophet or downright con man), but the last episode surely gives us the biggest clue that Al Masih is not just a con man....walking on water was another such hint and the healing of the shot Muslim boy.... Personally, as I said, I think the writers of the series want to make us think what it would be like if Jesus were to come in this day and age....and that is a very useful and worthwhile endeavor, but they might also be trying to paint a picture of what it would be like if He came again. One thing Al Masih says is, they will all know I have come (words to that effect) echoing how the Bible (and maybe the Koran?) describes the second coming, but minus the "coming down in the clouds". The media, social or otherwise, sees to the word spreading, and that is an interesting take the 'on everyone will know' claim. Probably if Al Masih is the antichrist is the biggest question because the Bible also speaks about him being capable of doing miracles that would deceive even the elect. However, viewing the interviews on UA-cam of the actor who plays Al Masih, Mehdi Dehbi, (and I am presuming he has full knowledge the direction the series is going to head), he does not appear to be worried about being very closely associated, even spiritually associated with the part...even claiming it was spiritually predestined that he should play it, so I don't think finally the notion of the series actually depicting the antichrist is going to hold any ground.
I really like your analysis of this taking in to consideration how the cast and crew talk about the show. I think that is very important too and I think you're right!
I too have watched ot twice and am on my third watch. I found the last scene stillvery non-commital. For example, how much does the little boy understand about death. Is he a “reliable narrator” when he says the men were dead. Maybe they were stunned/unconscious etc. Maybe al-Masih resuscitated them with CPR and the boy has never seen that before. It is believable that they still survived the plane crash just by chance. My Dad, and three others and a dog all survived a small plane crash similar to this. I loved this show.
Aquamarine, I think the fact that his classmates know the boy in the last episode as a great teller of tall tales (plus he is just a kid) is certainly going to make his version of events unreliable and he is literally the only real witness (apart from Al Masih) that the other occupants of the plane were dead (if indeed they were....but it’s certainly implied by the boy’s initial comments re flies.....but did HE really know?). This is yet another ploy by the creators of the series to put a spanner in the works re really making a firm appraisal as to what is going on and who Al Masih really is. I can’t wait for the new series and this means the creators are at the very least, telling a story in the time honoured tradition, with us being led along a path, but never knowing exactly its ultimate destination. But I still consider the actor’s intense reaction to the part and his spiritual affinity to the role as being a very interesting, and perhaps the most revealing, insight.
As a Muslim I appreciate your understanding. I didnt find it that offensive, except the part with madrasa... for us the prophets or characters like the Mahdi are important, and we do not like really to potray them, and it would even worse if they arent as the islamic narrations say. We do have narrations speaking about the look of Isa peace be upon him and we know who the Mahdi will be (Muhammed ibn Abdullah) and where he will be... . If in the end, the guy in the series comes out to be the dajjal, well, i couldnt care less, True he doesnt fit the criteria of the dajjal, but it wouldn't be the first time people are changing and distorting... in the end this series isnt made by a Muslim and it s fictional, so they can do what they want... For us muslims actually i think it would be interesting, if such a nice guy appeared and started to claim he is a prophet and later claims he is god, will follow him? I think this series can be eye opening, if we believe the figure is actually the dajjal, In Islam we believe the one who has memorised the frist 10 verses of Surah Al Kahf in the quran is protected from the fitnah (trial) of dajjal .... I am astonished how few of muslims actually have learnt it. Alhamdulillah I did. We believe he ll be coming out with first of all many jewish followers from Isfahan as the jews are still waiting for the 1st coming of the messiah and then many "weak" muslims (like shown in the series, very naive) and christians who will believe it is the second coming of Christ. Only good believer will be able to not be hypnotised by his brainwashing and lies, they will recognise him from his forehead, it will be writte Kafir on it, which mean disbeliever. He will have devils supporting coming with the body of your loved ones who passed away. Very hard to actually not believe in what he s saying.... On some point even women will follow him, in one way or the other he will brainwash them and they will want to follow him to the extent good believers will have to tie up their female relatives so they dont go to him. Dajjal will even kill a Muslim and bring him back to life, and still this believer wont buy it that he is god. Later The prophet Isa (whom you refer as Jesus) peace be upon him will be sent down by God , he will meet Mahdi in Damascus and pray , later Isa ﷺ will kill the Dajjal. End times will be big time. End times are big time.
I agree, the Madrassa seemed cliché but it was used to describe indoctrination I guess in a way that the west would understand. I think they were loosely basing it off of all people's understanding of Messiah particularly Muslims ones but not actually representing it. They tried to work around that to cause as little controversy as possible I suppose. Thank you for watching and your thoughtful comment.
Liked and shared. I don't mind them using some supernatural or occult elements. Personally, I think that he is not the messiah but something akin to the adversary while not being quite it. Rather, he's ushering the way for the antiChrist. The show had me hooked from episode 1. The great care they took in everything from the dialect, religious and cultural beliefs/differences between faiths and the divisions within is impressive. I hope the same is shown in the upcoming adaptation of Herbert's masterpiece. Dune is for me one of the crown jewels of sci-fi. As a history buff, I love every aspect of it because it feels more like a historical narrative than a space opera. Also, the various historical, religious and folk influences behind it just shows how deep this is. Not to mention that while using some common tropes, it slowly deconstructs them, further exploring these messiah and savior movements.
I agree with everything you've mentioned. The show has me hooked also because the subject matter fascinates me. The performances easily carried my fascination through the show until it's end. If it was as bad as some people claim, I wouldn't have made this piece on it.
@@secretsofdune I think it has become so popular to bash Netflix (because many originals are either big hits or horrible misses) that gems like this are dismissed or overshadowed by more expensive productions. I liked how this was explored in a realistic way and hope it not only continues in season 2 but it generates interest for Islamic folklore and Abrahamic lore (Judaism, Christianity) in general.
@@DarkLadyAthena1 Producers and Directors need to take this show as a mark that such authenticity really carries a show/film. This show is a win for Arab actors in particular.
Guys us muslims didn’t find it offensive to our religion or anything but it’s just that this whole shows plot is basically based off of what will happen when the dajjal will come other than small details
Yeah I think it leans more toward him actually being a fake. I think he may be an agent or something. I think he knew the plane was being tracked and planted explosives instead of the plane being shot down (she assumed, but it was never confirmed they actually shot it down) and remember he was calm and strapped in his seatbelt so I think he knew how to take the expected landing without getting hurt.

This is barely noticeable, unless you are Persian or from the Middle-East yourself. We have, on the other hand, Black knights, south-Asian medieval Polish women, etc. This is Netflix, after all.
@@secretsofdune I wouldn't see any reason to, we got angry when they made a white Canadian guy play the prince of Persia, its not necessarily bad but it shows how white washed Hollywood is, and if your an actor of color you wouldn't even have a chance of playing roles that are suited for you, kinda weird and sad.
great review. i am heart broken thatnetflx cancelled the show. do u guys thnk other channels could take the show? like i thnk we as a world need this show
Jesus said he was coming to divide and destroy in the second coming. He said a house of five will be divided father against son, son against father, Three against two and two against three. How is this not an accurate portrayal of the Messiah? We do not choose who God chooses as the host of his messenger. You better believe he's coming with anger and wrath because look at what we've done to the world and each other. In this portrayal he says returning to scripture will not save you the time is now I am here meaning it's too late now you have chosen your fait. Jesus died for our sins we got a second chance on his second coming in this series he's saying now it's too late you have had up until now your fait is sealed. I didn't find anything inaccurate about it. Jesus told us himself these things. If you embodiment the devil you already are blind expecting a figure to come. But if you percieve Satan as a spiritual infection among all men like a curse your eyes are open and you see what has already come. You will see Satan's true form the sins of the world and every man as the true form of Satan and your eyes will be open. This is what the Messiah will come to defeat and that is how this series approaches it.

@@rizkymubaroq3025 I do think this has a part to play, absolutely. When it hopefully passes and we get through it, there could be a chance for a return. Let's hope so.
In the Dune series the Bene Gesserit admit that they invent or create religions, the Missionaria Protectiva through the Panolplia Prophetica, to help "guide" the masses, to mature humanity so it won't self destruct and call this their "grail". In this vein they tried to make the Kwisatz Haderach, utilizing a very tightly constructed and enacted breeding program, a super being and dared to believe they might control him thus avoiding the messy messiah complex which of course they failed to do... Please read the original 6 Dune novels to get a better understanding of what this implies as far as Messiahs and religious cults are concerned.
Nice Dune analysis. I think it was more manipulate existing religions rather than invent or create, but I agree with you. The Dune is definitely worth a read!
How do you explain , stoping the hurricane and save the church in a critical moment , and how do you explain surviving and reviving death officers after the plane crash in the last episode. Why some people like to twist even the most evident and clear messages. 🤦♂️
I don't think it is twisting exactly. But there are explanations for things. The events and the way they are shot and presented are ambiguous in nature and this is intentional. There may be some logical explanations to them. It all depends on whether or not Payam has powers or not, or whether he has help from the outside.
Anyone who loves this stuff should look up Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa . 🙏🏾🔥🔥 great video brother. Such care and your voice is so relaxing. Please tell me a story to go to sleep :-)
They still haven't announced whether or not there will be a season 2. For now I'd say no news is good news. At least it hasn't been cancelled yet, that much is for sure.
From the Prophet's Hadith, we know that prophet said to angel that he cannot read. Repeating those same words in this series was unnecessary; could and should have been avoided in my view, given the fact that the director was trying to create a "prophetic" charecter through his story telling. All in all it was a good watch.
But the character that said it couldn't read came from a refugee camp, seems to be poor and unable to afford an education.. He even seems simple minded. So it is perfectly plausible that he couldn't read. This seriously has nothing to do with muhammad
This series has nothing to do with Dajjal. He is not anti Christ. He only wants unity in the world. The people chose to label him and follow him. He said he was "The Word". Rebecca said in the scene he was "The great Messenger".
Secrets of Dune I was wondering if they will be in the series. I was just wondering about suicide bombers - do they target mosques or christian places- its bit confusing what has been shown in the Messiah film - thats all...
@@joanark3896 Don't know where my reply went, but here it is again. It's certainly true that extremist terrorists such as daesh etc target other Muslims aka their own kind so that makes the show accurate. Maybe white supremacists might be featured in future seasons of Messiah if they make them because the majority of attacks come from non Muslim groups statistically.
Secrets of Dune yes , Thats true... I m so glad I grew up in catholic Poland- everywhere safe- I didnt appreciate that. The only enemies were communists - ehat they did to catholic priests, catholic patriots: aristocrats who were fighting with Hitlers army trying to get polish catholics like saint Maksymilian Kolbe (polish catholic priest) from German death camps like Auschwitz/ Oswiecim, example : Rotmistrz Witold Pilecki - went to Auschwitz than captured by communists and tortured to death in prison on Rakowiecka Street .
The true Messiah will return in the clouds and all the world will see him. I thought the series was very thought provoking and interesting left up to the viewer to decide what they see. I thought it was interesting when the plane crash victims at the end were convinced by the boy who was a known liar, that they were dead and that they were brought back to life.
NETFLIX RENEW THIS SHOW!

Exactly!
Imagine in season 2 we see The real messiahs second coming and confronts the anti christ, then Armageddon begins
@@BL-gh3qt It would be a bold move, but I think a second season needs a move like that.
Dub Line actually Jesus did claim to be the Messiah. He said that he was the “Christ” which is from the Greek translation for the word “Messiah”.

Just like the dajall
He did bring people back to life from the dead at the end though ... a normal man can’t do that
@@hecantguardme15 which is exactly what the dajall will do he’ll be able to bring people back to life but not as themselves , he will bring food and water back to places in famine and drought , he will be able to be in multiple places at once, and he’ll be involved with politics
Please shoot season 2 . This was possibly the best show Netflix has produced..
YES😀👍
I think they made many allusions to Jesus (Yeshua) in many cases:
1. In one scene, being detained and interrogated by Avriam, he was asked who he was. He answered “The Word.”

Their dogma demands they eliminate the thought process in favor of the rote,
indoctrination forced upon them from birth.
Educational programs such as this should never be suppressed.
*THIS SERIES SHOULD BE CONTINUED ANOTHER 2 SEASONS AT LEAST!*
It is highly unlikely that religious zealotry was responsible for cancelling the show as I mentioned in the video. it must be something else.

Watched all of Messiah in one sitting last night till 5am lol. Thought about dune a few times while watching it.
Yeah that was unavoidable for me too. I am thinking to re-watch at some point too because I watched it in one sitting also. What did you think of it?
Secrets of Dune: haha yeah I may have to watch it again sometime. I thought it was great. It gets people thinking.. especially about abrahamic religions and the ways they inhibit humanity from true progression into future humans.
@@colinrasmussen9365 It's interesting to see people's reactions to this show.
@@colinrasmussen9365Progression towards what...? More human suffering, with the rise of Nihilistic Atheism.
Perhaps that was one of their inspirations!
That is the Shia Islamic concept of Imam Mahdi, whi will arrive before the dajjal(anti christ).
That was a wonderful scene. What an opening to an episode!
I loved that scene as well.
One of the few instances in Hollywood where an LDS / Mormon character is shown as a leader with strength of character and confidence.
The things are happening in our present time, I feel we need more movie like this
Lol
We don’t need movie we live one
Some really interesting points and a nice way to look at it. I really like it. Thanks for sharing your ideas.

That's the direction I would like them to go in. Perhaps he was experimented on, or something similar to that.
@@secretsofdune Or - just born different...(like the movie Highlander. They're born different, with special abilities, and seen as either gods, messiahs, or with typical humans who fear what don't know, the devil.

Such a thing can cause much bloodshed. It's the complete opposite of being humble.

Also I found it odd he posted on his instagram page on the 8/11/2024 a clip from show which he hasn’t done in a long time as he had made it quite clear he had moved on from the messiah. The scene he posted was an ominous one I thought - regards a flood! The other part I will highlight is that it was the Palestinians whom were his believers & the Israelis who were his captors along with the USA ! Very telling for the times we’re living in!
Thank you yes I saw his post and wondered about it too.
Hoping the post meant we’d get a season 2 🤞🏽🤞🏽
@@sdw8680 I'd love a continuation, but I guess I've made my peace with the fact that it is likely all we'll get. I do wish one day they would at least state the plan for what the second season would have looked like.
Thank you for your insight, candor and care in dealing with film vs real life.
You're very welcome. I'm really glad that you enjoyed it and noticed the method of my approach to the subject.
All the prophets point to one thing:

Great vid. For future reference, try to limit your on screen text, as one cannot read and listen at the same time.
I loved this show just wish the next season would come on
Deep,, philosophical interesting !!Season 2 is a must!!❤
Yes, it's not good to cave in to the extremists that are incensed by this work of art!
I also believe depending on the landing that they can survive such a thing. I'm glad your father did!
Let's hope they green-light a second season for the show.
As a Muslim I appreciate your understanding.
I didnt find it that offensive, except the part with madrasa...
for us the prophets or characters like the Mahdi are important, and we do not like really to potray them, and it would even worse if they arent as the islamic narrations say. We do have narrations speaking about the look of Isa peace be upon him and we know who the Mahdi will be (Muhammed ibn Abdullah) and where he will be... .
If in the end, the guy in the series comes out to be the dajjal, well, i couldnt care less,
True he doesnt fit the criteria of the dajjal, but it wouldn't be the first time people are changing and distorting... in the end this series isnt made by a Muslim and it s fictional, so they can do what they want...
For us muslims actually i think it would be interesting, if such a nice guy appeared and started to claim he is a prophet and later claims he is god, will follow him? I think this series can be eye opening, if we believe the figure is actually the dajjal,
In Islam we believe the one who has memorised the frist 10 verses of Surah Al Kahf in the quran is protected from the fitnah (trial) of dajjal ....
@@secretsofdune Yes exactly, thanks to u

Art and controversy go hand in hand. I didn't see it as being needlessly controversial
Analysis worthy of time spent listening., well done!
Very kind of you. Thank you for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I loved the show. Please come back🙏🙏🙏❤️ Greetings from Norway 😀🇳🇴🖐
Please bring this show back!!!!!
Good point. I would prefer this, a clever plot to control the masses through a prophetic myth. Basically Dune...
But then how would he walk over water
He brought the people back to life that were in the plane with him though
...and the kid shot in the first episode, no entry wound left though still blood on the shirt.

I’m still gutted this was pulled.
Me too. It seemed too daring to be made. We were lucky to get one season in a way. I wish they would have wrapped things up in a mini series or something.
Payam In Persian means a “message “ soooo.....
Also I don’t like how they didn’t use a real persian as the main actor, the parts where he speaks Farsi are so fake.
I recognised he was speaking Farsi but wasn't sure how accurate it was. Now I know. Do you think Iranians would have been angered if a real Persian played the character?

This is barely noticeable, unless you are Persian or from the Middle-East yourself. We have, on the other hand, Black knights, south-Asian medieval Polish women, etc. This is Netflix, after all.
@@secretsofdune I wouldn't see any reason to, we got angry when they made a white Canadian guy play the prince of Persia, its not necessarily bad but it shows how white washed Hollywood is, and if your an actor of color you wouldn't even have a chance of playing roles that are suited for you, kinda weird and sad.

They're making movies about DajjàL? ... Shaytán must be confused.
When I was observing this unique movie( messiah) I realized my body is very still 🌹
In the Dune series the Bene Gesserit admit that they invent or create religions, the Missionaria Protectiva through the Panolplia Prophetica, to help "guide" the masses, to mature humanity so it won't self destruct and call this their "grail".
Please tell me a story to go to sleep :-)

i enjoyed the show.... it explains Max Webers "making of a charismtic leader" in a movie.
What about Dune. Does the movie reflects the same themes?
Yes absolutely. Dune is really about charismatic leaders and that they can be dangerous.
I hope there are some Dune references!
I don't think you'll be disappointed ;)

From the Prophet's Hadith, we know that prophet said to angel that he cannot read. Repeating those same words in this series was unnecessary; could and should have been avoided in my view, given the fact that the director was trying to create a "prophetic" charecter through his story telling. All in all it was a good watch.
But the character that said it couldn't read came from a refugee camp, seems to be poor and unable to afford an education.. He even seems simple minded. So it is perfectly plausible that he couldn't read. This seriously has nothing to do with muhammad
I think season 2 is going to show how he takes control of the world until he discovers a bigger threat and gets demolished
This series has so much potential to be a "post apocalyptic" epic. It could honestly be incredible, if they do it right and go in the right direction.

Why do you have a eye for your profile picture?
It is supposed to symbolise the "Eye of the Ibad" which is something from the Dune books.
