REPAIRING DAMAGED PARTS WITH MOLDABLE PLASTIC - TOP TIP
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 жов 2024
- I used my saw and cut into my RC car parts. I then used a meltable plastic to stick them back together. Do you think they will hold on a very rough gravel road? Link to buy in the comments below the video.
How to use the meltable plastic video is on the second channel, @johnrobinsonrcessentials

Great find 😊 how long does It take to cure. Man I miss the 144001 days
Can we try the wheel hubs they break more often 🤔
how we're the fumes😂 when applying
About 5 mins max. Cools really quickly.
And yeah sure I can try. Only issue is that there is not a lot of space around the actual wheel so would depend on where it broke. But I'll see. Have a great day and thanks for watching.
Oh zero fumes. No smell at all.
Also, put it in cold water and it cures faster
Nice you found time to try that stuff out. Also nice to fix your camber shafts in place once they have the desired offset. Wrap this stuff around it, and the camber rod is also more solid. (Plus the new sleeve will have the propper thread once cured)
Very interesting John... Just a thought... Rather than repairing a break could you make a mould and make a brand new part from it? Isn't funny that when you try to break something it won't break but when you don't want to break it, it breaks. 🤣
Theoretically you could make a mold, this plastic cools down fast, so you couldn't easily pour it
Where do you buy this stuff John?
100g of it is about £5 so relatively cheap. looks good. new subscriber...
Yes I just checked and 100g for 3 quid with some sellers. It's always worth having in the rc tool box. Thanks so much for subscribing. Wishing you a fantastic day. 😊👍🏼
25aud for a kilo which converts to 13gbp, but i saw plenty of sellers trying to get more
Yeah pricing goes up and down. 1 kg is a lot though. 100g has lasted me for a year. 😊👌
@@JohnRobinsonRC yeah i'm probably never going to need to buy more, but it means I can give some to my mates since its so useful
definitely having a fantastic day...first 4S runs with my Maverick Flux RX Rally...whooooo.@@JohnRobinsonRC
hot glue with a lower melting point
My experience is such that it wouldn't be able to hold anywhere near as well as this. Either or if both work then great! 😊👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
@@JohnRobinsonRC good to know, haven't got myself a hotglue gun yet, but i've used this on a front arm where the hinge pin goes thru and it works okay, its so nice when the replacement part turns up tho :)
It's as strong as nylon when cured... Hot glue doesn't compare😅
@@Lekkah666 except nylon doesn't turn to goo at 60C. I wouldn't use it to support a motor for example. But you could put your theory to the test and cast a spur gear from it :)
