1. Yes you can flash a custom recovery afterwards.
2. Yes you can unroot and flash stock even without a custom recovery but your device would be wiped so be sure to backup your data.
Third party apps can be downloaded to customize your Android device (like "launchers" found on Google Play) but they don't need root. Search my channel for "top reasons to root", I suppose the video is a little dated and I should redo it, but the content in that video is still relevant.
You shouldn't. In the worst case, use the Driver Installation guide included in the program.

Install the program and try! No harm done.
Thanksssss subscribed for the great videos
Just in case somebody has an error like this "NO SU FILE INSTALLED" or similar like this. All you need to do is download SUPERSU 1.65, copy to your nexus 4, then go into customer recovery and install it. It worked for me!!! Thumps up so anyone can see :)
Hi. I can't get past "unlocking bootloader". It says fastboot not found. I have tried re-installing the drivers but it still doesn't work. How should I proceed on from here?
Me too, when I open super su app after rooting it says there is no binary installed. What to do??
All you need to do is download SUPERSU 1.65, copy to your nexus 4, then go into customer recovery and install it.
My bootloader state is unlocked but when i go through my apps i don't have the super su or busy box*
Latdot Did you actually root your device afterwards? Unlocking the bootloader and root are two different things. Be sure to contact the developer for any additional help.
When I open Super Su app it says there is no super su binary installed
simply awesome :) thanx a ton bro :)
After the "Root" step, when i want to check whether my nexus 4 has been successfully rooted with supersu it shows an error saying that no su file is installed... any clues?
that desktop wallpaper?
I have a challange - LG 45C its rooted is there a way to put Cm on that thing ?
What is busy box ?
all perfect, thank you very much and obviously many thanks to wugfresh!!! (i rooted my galaxy nexus gsm version)
hey guy, thanks for the walkthrough vid. i got a question you might be able to answer; If i use wugfresh's NRT to ONLY ROOT and dont flash customer recovery, can i use the toolkit to flash a customer recovery later? and #2 if i dont' flash a customer recovery, can i still use the toolkit to unroot and flash stock?? thx
Where do you cover ClockworkMod?
The method in the video uses TWRP not ClockworkMod. The custom recovery part is at 7:48.
No Animation Here The option to change Custom Recovery is present in the Nexus Rootkit's Options (Ctrl+K)
damn you have a clean voice! nice video!
what is the main reason for rooting a device? i've read some about it before but up until now didn't feel the need to do so. just bought a nexus 7 2nd gen and want to connect my thumbdrives to it. saw where i can download nexus media importer and use it that way but also read about people rooting their device for the same reason. so other than that and being able to install third party apps for customization or whatever what's the appeal of rooting a device?
Hi, when i try to back up my phone using this software, the backup 0mb, surely that is not right? Any help or should i should onto the forums?
