    Those sunfish hybrids are really cool, it's great to see all the variants you can have depending on what species cross breed, as well as the individuals themselves. Keep up the good work!

      Nolan Minor I agree, Nolan! Here in Northeast Philadelphia, there is a body of water where the Sunfish interbreed. Beautiful indeed! Always fun to see what you will catch. Heh. Thanks for the support and tight lines!

    You should do more Hopkins Pond, Drstel pond ,upper Cooper River because you can catch some really good fish from there and it is so easy for you because It is a 3 in 1 No bites you can move to another spot on a whole different body of water that is extremely close walking distance. I recommend it you go to to Hopkins pond right by the entrance that parking lot You want to fish right on that shore I have caught tons of catfish\Brown Bull heads or yellow. I also seen a few Largemouth bass there towards the middle Good Luck!

    It's weird how I live in New Jersey and go fishing often and have caught many bluegill and pumpkinseed but never any green sunfish.

    • @extremephillyfishing
      @extremephillyfishing  9 років тому +1

      danny mc tigue Curiously enough, the Green Sunfish in NJ are considered to be an invasive Species of fish. In other words, by law, they should all be eradicated. Sometimes I "forget" to kill them; however, I have killed lots and lots of them in accordance to the law. I am, however, trying to get the laws in NJ changed for certain invasive types of fish -- the Green Sunfish and Wamouth included.

    I live right near these bodies of water. I live in Barrington. I mainly fish at Newton lake because of the variety of fish species there. I fish at Wallworth, Hopkins, and Evans Pond every once in a while for catfish. I also fish at Haddon and Audubon lake which are decent for bass, but most of the time I get skunked. I go to Newton to fish for snakehead and it's obvious that there are tons of them there, but they haven't been biting recently. Any tips for snakehead at Newton?

    • @extremephillyfishing
      @extremephillyfishing  9 років тому +1

      Billy Ray Glad to hear that you fish all around that area! I have been to Newton Lake recently for Snakeheads; however, I haven't been able to catch any. My advice for you would be to wait 2 more weeks until they are done spawning, so you can catch them very easy (they can be seen in the shallows with their babies). Tight lines!

    does melanosis hurt the fish at all??

    • @extremephillyfishing
      @extremephillyfishing  9 років тому

      vance Up to date, ichthyologists are still not sure how the Bass obtain Hyperpigmented Melanosis; however, so far, there have been no signs of malignancy when it comes to it. In other words, our understanding up to date is that it does not hurt the fish.

    i always catch white catfish and there always so gross and deformed some dont have wiskers why is that

    • @extremephillyfishing
      @extremephillyfishing  9 років тому +1

      +Simpsorama50 That's a good question. I have caught plenty of White Catfish and Channel Catfish that were all "beat up." I would assume that it's just the roughness of their environment. For example -- a good 20% of all Catfish that I catch from the Delaware River in Northeast Philadelphia comes up all beaten up. I have caught plenty of Channel Catfish from non-tidal Creeks, Ponds, Lakes, and they are gorgeous! Thus, I really think that it's just the environmental factors in play: structure in a River, water quality, population amount, etc.
