After taking some prime "Shiner Bait" from the muddy waters of the Upper Cooper River, I hopped on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia in search of some big kitties...

Those Channel cats sure look healthy, they must be making headway on the pollution situation.
Ready for an eslay fest!
And I like your sense of humor you're the type of guy I would love to hang out and fish with
Get'em
I like when you go to places like the Schuylkill River, Leo. I have never been to the East Coast but it feels like I have because I am so familiar with some of your fishing spots (through the videos). You are on fire in 2023, my man, keep up the great work!
Will do, John. Thanks for watching!
And I'm going to keep watching
@@extremephillyfishing like I said earlier on one of the comments you got a good sense of humor you're the type of guy I would love the hang out with you and fish with you
@@extremephillyfishing and next time when you go catfishing use chicken liver to that always works with me
I'm glad you educate people on the laws and fish consumption. I once worked for an environmental testing company that ran tests for heavy metals in the fish. The government would send dead specimens in ziploc bags and we had to turn the fish into a paste using a blender. This is called "getting a consistent sample." It was a stinky job, but someone has to do it. ;p
And because of that job, I don't want to eat anything around here. The Texas waterways are heavily contaminated by the fossil fuel industry. It's getting better because the Houston shipping channel doesn't spontaneously catch on fire any more, but there's still a lot of work to be done.
We can also have 3 total baits in Wisconsin. So if you have one bait/lure per line, you can also have 3 rods.
i was waiting for a video catfishin on the river.
Good to see you at the Schuylkill river fishing. It has that nostalgia factor of 3-4 years ago. 😁
You are having a lot more success this January than I am Leo. I have a grand total of 1 missed bite and no fish landed yet this year. Hopefully the tide turns this weekend. Nice catfish.
Hopefully so, Snake Eyes! 🐍 Cheering for your first fish of 2023!
Sunnies and Crappies in the Mercer County NJ lakes and ponds, no bass and no kitties or anything for me in the Delaware. Might have to hit Barnaget Bay in Seaside get my fish count up like you!
The Schuykill between Reading and Birdsboro is supposed to be some of the best Muskie water in Pa !
Kitty love it Leo 🤣🤣 🔥🎣👌
Here kitty kitty! Overcast days with light precipitation give me the highest confidence.
Pennsylvania 3 rods, Wisconsin 2 rods.... Canada 1 rod 😪 Not that I would want multiple rods for 1 species but many places I would love to not have to choose between UL and MH setups. Especially when travelling to new fishing waters.
EPF That Tuna belly got you excited 6:09 🤫
I feel like that guy...wisconsin is 3 poles 3 hooks too...🤣
As soon as I get back from fishing we got some new EPF content. Let's go!
Great video and just in time for me to kick off my boots and enjoy! That dude would have lost his mind if he saw that flathead I got, hahaha 😆
Hey, Leo, have you ever fished below the falls OPPOSITE the Art Museum? My grandfather and I used to go there when he was alive. Tidal waters - we used to fish the tide coming in. Parked in the construction turnoff on the river drive, crossed and climbed the wooden fence and made our way carefully down to the river. Fished as close to the falls as possible (there used to be a fish ladder there, so we couldn't get too close). Primarily fished for catties, but we caught eels, stripers, white perch (I think), and even blue claw crabs would take the bait sometimes. Always catch and release. We used shrimp, night crawlers, and chicken livers.
Brown bullhead catfish that's what it was that almost took my fishing rod over
Because Leo it almost happened to me out on Long Island New York I wasn't paying attention and my rod almost lucky I got it it was a big brown head catfish
Almost can see the street sign
You didn't let me know Leo ! I could have met you there ! 💔😭🤦🏻♂️ Actually, the fish bite much better just below the dam. Near the long steps. Just beside the wall is great for jigging black crappie. Nice size. Got my p.b. Large Mouth Bass there, my first Walleye and my first Shad. I have a photo of a 40 inch catfish taken there.
Every time I shoot a video right below the dam, half of the community cries for spot burning, even though EVERYBODY already knows about that spot. But still...I have to think about the community, so, sometimes, for videos like this, I bring the fishing pressure somewhere else. I will stop by the dam later this year.
@@extremephillyfishing yes, it is a popular spot when the weather is nice and there's always someone hogging it to themselves with no regards to share with other anglers. 🤦🏻♂️ Tight lines Bro ! Have a blessed Chinese New Year ! 🕊️🙏💖🎣🐟
What kinda setup would I need for this spot? Wanna catch some crappie
You’re looking great and looks like you’re feeling great, Leo. Loved the video as always. I really want to get into catfishing again. This video is giving me the urge. Lol
Heck yeah, Dardidus!! I hope you land some kitties soon. 😸
NGT makes a weigh sling that has no poles; it's just mesh with some strings. That way, you can roll it up into a little ball in your tackle bag, and it takes up a negligible amount of space. It's intended for carp, but anglers of other species should consider using something similar; no need to damage the fish anymore than necessary.
i was just there. I shouldve brought my rod.
The meow meow has no chance to escape when it comes to Leo's €slaying
Love your videos
Love this video!!!!!!! Catfishing my favorite type of fishing. Great video Leo
Glad that you enjoyed it, Aaron! Thanks for watching.
You had one job
Amazing content 👏🏼
You're awesome!
3.6 pounds meow meow 😂
Leo you always got to keep your eyes on your rod cuz next time you don't pay attention the rod is going to go swimming and you will be out a rod
I hear you on that, bro. That's why I got those rod holders. Hehe.
Yeah Leo I understand but if it was a bigger catfish that might go to like I said I learned a lesson from that out on Long Island New York my ride almost disappeared from a big brown bullhead catfish
I still have flashbacks from drinking water through a life straw from the Delaware River. I knew after I swallowed I effed up.
😬😬😬 Good to know that you are still alive. Hah..
@@extremephillyfishing Yeah I realize in an emergency situation great to have, but to just use it to use it not the best idea
Helll yeaahhh Leo
Leo has returned!!!
Nice!
I like the giant gold handle on that one reel
It is one of my favorite features of the Penn Slammer III as well, skiie.
I haven’t even been able to get out there and fish yet!!
Title just says fishing, not catfishing.
I really enjoyed this though and am already patiently waiting for another catfishing video!
Nice job with the Kitties Leo!!!! At least you got a bite going. Been a little slow here in Delaware. Keep up the great work !!
Will do, Brother. Hope things heat up in Delaware for you soon!!!
@Extreme Philly Fishing Next couple weeks should pick back up. Hoping to score some jumbo Yellow Perch this weekend. TIGHT LINES!!
Great work boss. You are a good fisherman.
Thank you, James.
I enjoy your videos Leo keep them coming
Glad to hear that, Anthony. Thanks for watching!
Yeah son! No one likes a loosey goosey!🤣
Nice work out there brother! I was waiting for you to pull out the soap cubes for the catfish again 🤣
Wow. You remember, Tom. Good Memory!!! Soap may come back this Summer..
Great winter catfishing Leo! I hope that you target flatheads on your species push in 2023. That's a lifer for us. So still looking for more tips.
Love some catfishing content
Haha some where along there is where that chemical leak was from that pipe under water. You called Fire Department because it looked like a toxic leak lol
OG. You remember. Hah.
Nice to see you back on the schukil river catching some bigger fish. Flatheads in the future?
If you are not using the fish heads as bait, you are really missing out. Just run your circle hook in one eye, and out the other. Hands down the best piece of cut bait. Lots of blood, and oil in the head.
Hi from wisconsinKeep it up Leo. Love the videos
Will do, Toni. Thanks for watching!
my man leo, you seem dissapointed with how "small" those cats are. id be ecstatic to catch any of those! i live in massacheusetts, the biggest ive caught is like, half that size!
Next, we wait for dogfish)))
I know im late, but I hope you had a good holidays and wishing you a healthy 2023 ♥️
Thank you, Josh! And Likewise!
Please elaborate on details about the camera you use and also audio equipment. I noticed that your audio is clear and about the same volume when your close to, or away from your camera. Thanks. Good Video as always.
All filming 🎥 equipment is listed under the video, in the description, Len.
Not the most pristine or picturesque fishing spot around, but looks fun nonetheless! :) I need to find me an awesome Kitty spot like this around me.
Nice video. Hoping to learn more about fishing in our area, so subscribing to your channel so I can see more.
Is the net to catch crack heads with? 😂 seriously though. I hope you brought pepper spray.. lol
go ice fishing in south dakota
Meow Meow
I'm from Wisconsin too and we can fish with 3 poles idk what that guy is talking about. The rule is 3 hooks limit so as long as you got one Hook per pole it's fine.
I was looking through the comments to see if someone mentioned this. For the last 30 years it has been three poles
Meow 😺
Ah yes the Schuylkill river, the home of Philadelphia’s unsolved murders
Nice one Leo, will try for african catfish soon in a private pond. Would u say i could catch one of those with hard lures?
I would say that for those, cut bait or organic bait is your best choice.
I wonder if he sold his catch(es) to the markets in Chinatown?
Was it Eric tollefson
I absolutely love how animated you always are, you sure you're not Italian?
What is the difference between an offset and inline circle hook? I know the offset one has a tilted eye but I don't know how they function differently.
😂👍
Any good spots near Royersford/ Phoenixville to fish the river?
Comically large net
It is an European style Carp net, Chugget. They love their nets BIG.
First to help the algorithm
Where can one get the jackyll egg bucket
I get them on eBay. Imported from Japan..link is in the description.
Can you use catfish as bait if you run out
You can. I have tried before, and I can tell you that it is NOT good bait in comparison to the Shiners..
How far upstream does the Schukyll become non tidal?
The art museum
Leo go for carp again
You know it will happen this year, Jordan. Got to add that one to the 2023 Species Marathon list!!!
Damn, I wish I could catch catfish but I cannot for the life of me.
Keep on trying, Bro! Soak some prime cut bait. Your kitty will come!!!
@@extremephillyfishing My next trip for sure.
