may be rare in sport mode, but this track is THE chill spot for like 75% of public lobbies
Nah, Big Sur is the chill spot for most…. Like always 50% more Big Sur servers than Tokyo.
Forza Horizon 6 hopefully added this track.
@@purwantiallan5089 what?
Most of my cash is made here lol. Great track
@@purwantiallan5089 Its a GT original track, Forza will literally never get it.
Hi again, Steve, Prototype here!
I was in the Supra standing sideways in Race 2. It's exactly as you said - dipped two wheels in the wet, and I was just a passenger from that point. Such a shame: pace was great, and I could have challenged for the win in that one.
A really hectic race, shame you didn't go for a third attempt! I'm still very impressed with how quickly you improve on a new combo. Keep it up!
Yeah, I found the track spotty when I picked up my win. It felt like in turns 3 and 4, and along the racing line on the back of the track, like the slightest deviation from the line slid you off the track like Oil. I found putting Hard tires on 4, taking it easy till Lap 8 worked best. Gave me time to let the track dry, but let's just say my Viper DID NOT like those 4 laps waiting for the track to dry. Definitely did not expect to pull ahead as far into pole position as I did, let alone win.
this track has grown on me, I originally wanted them to just continue with the old Tokyo R246 track since I prefer that over the new one but this provides great racing on different layouts with the exception of the countless wall penalties
In one online race alone, i count at least 15 wall penalties.
@@purwantiallan5089Then you are doing something very wrong...
When I won on this track for the Manufacturer's cup, it was tricky. I had tons of practice on the track, but never in the Wet. The trick was to start with heavy wet tires, swap to your hard racing tires and refuel on Lap 4, take it easy for the track to fully dry by lap 8, and then punch it the rest of the race. The Viper actually felt like the best choice for the track, that thing absolutely TOOK OFF in the racing line, and held stupidly well. First and probably my only manufacturer win for a while, but I'll hold that one high, lol.
Hey supergt, going through a rough patch in life right now, your conent is a blessing, i genuinely wait for the day in which you post, so thank you for always delivering
Hope you get through it soon bro

@@rafaell320 The most misused quote in the history of quotes, maybe ever.
@@Catcrumbs how so
@@tfwnoyandere Senna uttered those words in an attempt to rationalise one of the worst instances of gamesmanship in the history of F1: his crashing out of Prost at Suzuka in 1990 to decide that year's WDC in his favour. If that was how Senna drove every race of his career, he would have been out on his arse before getting anywhere near F3 and neither you nor I would ever have heard his name. Senna was talking to Jackie Stewart, who I'm sure you'll agree does not need to be told what racing is. For what it's worth, I think Prost got what he deserved for Suzuka 1989, but it has nothing to do with good racing.
This track was basically the last track on Gran Turismo Sport for online, so I got a LOT of practice. Managed to pull out the win in my Dodge Viper, and had a great time!!! Picking up the win put me at #1 of my local area, and my whole province!!!
Viper, nice... love to see "not so popular" cars up in front. So boring if you always see the same cars again and again. Like to change it up myself too.
@@SuperGeronimo999i ever use the Beetle Gr.3 for this race at Tokyo Expressway too.
@@SuperGeronimo999 Yeah, the Viper is criminally underrated. It's the Mancannon of Gr.3, it'll absolutely FLY if you drive it right, but it handles tight turns like a friggin Boat. In the words of Jeremy Clarkson, "An Engine with that amount of power could move a Moon Out of Orbit. You put it in a Car and you're gunna go pretty fast, AND YOU DO".
Hey, I'm #1 in my local area as well. Just had to finish this race once in last place (10th with 5 DNF's). So sadly, I'm also the last in my local area. but since you're #1 in your whole province, I won't argue. as in my province of Flanders/Belgium I'm 662nd out of just over 800.
It's just so weird that on the first 2 spots that can gain you money, so many people are both first and last. People really underestimate the amount of money you can get by just participating and finishing a single race. Plus if you're as clever as me and don't pick a meta brand, like Suzuki or SuperGT's Mitsubishi you might even end up getting a lot of money for the manufacturer classification.
When you hit every Apex in Tokyo it feels so smooth
this track has one of the hardest hair pins coming off a straight-away. and they decided to make the track wet too. jeez
Well, I was the "No mercy" Renault from 1st race and I still don't know why I thought I will make it without forcing Alfa into the wall there. Total misjudgment on my side. I've seen the Alfa driver in the chat blaming you instead for whatever reason, sorry about that.
Always a pleasure to race you, can't believe I manage to undercut you guyz! Love the video, see you on the racetrack again! Much love from Croatia!
P.S: Yes, I actually DID meet Barry-R in the race. Dangit.
Bring back Special Stage Route 5
I'd love to see it!
and 7 please
Make that 11. That track was crazy.
instead they added this dumb new track that's super short, only 1 minute for 1 lap
@@kanetidusIt isn't new, it's from 2006
As a fan of the old school NSX, I love that the NSX GT500 is a meta car. (Even if I don't play the game)
3:10 Those flames from the gtr looked incredibly realistic.
nice to see so many different cars, and the game looks absolutely beautiful.
That Tomahawk glitch race a while back should have everybody running great in this one.
Beautiful pass at 17:06! Right on, get aggressive!
It's great your giving some attention to Mikal's channel. He doesn't comment the races like others do, but just what this guy can do on track with basically ANY car doesn't need a voice over.
Now I'm also a bit mad at you for bringing his little channel to the worlds attention. I hoped to keep it a secret.
Antonio also has a similar thing btw.
I really don't understand why Polyphony sticks to only 3 "daily" weekly races. As Steve said yesterday: The game has so much potential that is not used. It's currently the main reason I don't play the game. If they had a similar system to ACC with SimGrid, I would jump right back!
@@0100-w2uyou’d hate iRacing then - miss registration and you have to wait and hour or two for next session… I wish I had GT7 on PC haha
I stopped playing because of polyphony after playing 4 years
Hello super gt, viewers here.
This joke is no longer funny tbh
As long as they keep getting validated by SuperGT, they will keep commenting.
@@bohottie I'm pretty sure at he's just being nice
This is getting boring
@@bohottie this is like my first comment on a super gt vid
This was my first manufacturer cup race. Since I'm a B driver I was put into GT2. It was quite fun as the top 5 was in reach of first for half the race and the battles were amazing. And by the end of it I finished 2nd which I'm proud to be a Malaysian on the podium
But Steve, it's not bedtime yet?! Damn your voice!!
*adds to watch later playlist
Nice run. In my race I was wondering about the rush most were in to change tires immediately when the dry line began to appear. Then they had to drive super cautiously and many wrecked their cars. I didn't pit until lap 7 and finished 2nd with 310 points. Was fun!
Ah, was wondering the same thing!!! I had plenty of experience on the track, but not in the wet. I found that you could Pit on lap 4, swap to your hard tires, and if you topped up on fuel you wouldn't need to pit for the rest of the race. Pitting early on 4 meant if anyone else stayed out, it was a guaranteed lead because they'd be forced to go in. Takes about 3 more laps for the track line to fully dry though, so you have gotta take it REALLY easy. My Viper REALLY didn't like waiting on the Racing line to dry after getting my hard tires on, XD. However, it payed off huge, as the Viper has got some serious acceleration, and the second those tires got the chance for some full grip, it took off like a rocket. Didn't expect to hold pole position for as long as I did, let alone pick up a W.
@14:09 look at the map. Last guy did a 360 no scope 😂
The Tokyo Expressway in GT7 is like combinations of Tokyo R246 + Road Atlanta + Jeddah.
the fictional tracks in this game look so beautiful
this track is so beautiful
15:29 *_You're only one mistake away..._*
I'll say 🙊🙉🙈
Im happy to see cars that didnt usually get used for the manufacturers championship like the GT500s or some odd ones like the Lancer, the Citroen GT etc. Balancing is good.
Also a welcome back unique and weird combos of racetracks. Hope they keep them cause thats exactly what GT should be.
Ah, I felt the Viper was BEAUTIFUL on this track!!! I got a win in it when I raced here, absolutely mental. The plan was to pit lap 4, top up fuel so I wouldn't need to pit the rest of the race, and swap to hard tires so that the moment the racing line dried I could be ready far before anyone else pitted to swap tires. My gamble payed off, but BOY my Viper did NOT LIKE those 3 laps waiting for the line to dry. Once it did, it took off like a rocket. Hoping it gets used more, it's a blast to drive and a ton of fun, but ya gotta be careful not to overdo it coming out of a turn. The lightest bit of over-acceleration and it's gunna slither right off the track.
My dopamine receptors always get sensitive watching your videos 😂😂😂😂 4:16
10:43 I thought you said something else. Thank god
What are you hearing?
Great racing and a hope that we see this set of tracks back in the daily rotation - I think between Tokyo Expressway and St Croix we are missing approx 16 track options that could slot into Daily Race rotation so fingers crossed 🤞🍻
This was such a joy to watch, epic drive Steve. Blessings be, from the mighty Pholy gods above for this one!
much love from the Netherlands! \o/
I had an unstoppable 4 stop strategy for this one - finishing a whole lap down 🤩
Good job on the editing, the mixed-in replays with different camera angles surely are more work but make the videos better! Keep it up!
3:03 Porsche driver did an Albon Canada GP 2024 overtake
Except he ended up in the wall
I don't understand why people ptted in this race. It wasn't mandatory, and inters could last the whole race. I had 3 races, everyone pitted in every race, I won the last race because of that 😅
Did no pit stop on this race and got second place. You could've gotten more out of that without pitting. The time you could potentially make up was less than the time you lost on the pitstop anyways..... so you might have gotten even to 3rd.
participating in the championship for the first time, I got p5 in the first race, I tried again and ended up in p2, I thought it was fun and I went racing again, I ended up in p5 again, I didn't know how the points system works, I thought they added up the points from several races, I finished losing a good score for not knowing the rules... well, living and learning
“You’re only one mistake away from, OH MY GOODNESS” VW spins off in the background
the fact that you are in a evo on Tokyo expressway
Keep up the viewing angles and your great work!
Not just expressway but the fastest "wangan" layout to boot. What a treat!
My favorite track and the only one that i have a lot of experience
You’re just spoiling us now with all these uploads
Oh my god! I never raced on it before in my life!
Wow, I love looking at that race. That's the first time I see a Gran Turismo 7 race that looks like Gran Turismo. No disrespect, but modern lack the class of old ones. However here, nostalgia strike big time. This reminds me of Special Stage route 5/11, with JGTC cars. There is something about JGTC that can not be explain with words: Honda NSX, Toyota Supra, Nissan GTR, Mazda RX7, etc. Each car is so unique and different from the others, it's delicious.
I loved this race, very cool to see the different strategies.
Your Evo front end kept reminding me of the Res Evil Nemesis.
Tokyo does have some underrated variations
With Central being the most rare ever.
Along the long straight you can see the building where I used to work. LOL
Hey it me the red alfa from race one, excuses for the block on your outlap. Hope I get the chance to do more races with u in the future!
Love racing this at night in VR, ideally in a convertable
Surely if we can get this combo for manufacturers they can give it to us as a daily race combo...
It didn't seem to glitchy or anything, not sure how it was for others.
Anyway, great races and vid Steve👍🏽
Good watching as always
Loved it 🔥 and I was so happy that the track was wet in the start of the race and quali!
Luv this manufacturers cup series, Go get them Lewis !!
Classic trick, slow motion into the barrier to avoid damage
Great content man!
This race had one question, pit or no pit, both strategies were correct, in my race top 4 drivers never pitted from inters to hard tyres, I did the same so my race was from 13th to last on purpose to avoid chaos to 6th, only one driver passed me with hard tyres meanwhile I was with inters all 12 laps, this was in GT1, Mazda RX with heavy damage and it was a very clean race with zero heavy damage to me
A Rare Race, A Rare Track... Challenging semi wet conditions at Its Best.. Each Race car with its own Handling Characteristics some good some bad, that Mid Engine NSX was untouchable a balance car because of the location of engine with decent HP/speed and a driver who knows the handling characteristics, also knowing and seeing the road conditions of the track. Push drafting when done correctly is another smart solution in moving forward. The Evo is good in road courses with 4WD but in Tokyo Expressway it lacks in HP/Speed. You Did Your Best Steve! Regarding your previous Sim vlog GT7 are making Good changes to the Game Updates Mega 1.49 is one of them, adding back the Eiger Norwand Yes remembering the GT5/GT6 years. I love that Valley road course. Yup too bad they did not add all the variations. Anyways on the technical side Its good to start making each Mfr/race/road car its own characteristic physics from handling, performance, etc etc. Imagine some cars having the same characteristics, It's not Fun, it's not True Reality(Realism). example using the brakes properly it is true when using too much brake the car will not turn(apex, hard hairpin)brake early roll into the apex that's realism racing some cars will have advantages/dis-advantages in this area. It depends on the Individual driver's muscle memory learning physics of the car driven. This physics update will make it More Challenging/Enjoying for All of US! Well ? Some of US ...
Hey Steve, I've retired from my job(work reality)since June, been driving/vlog PC race sims for a while now also restoring/add on upgrades to my 2010 Camaro 2SS LS3(Fun reality). Keep up the Great Work !! 💪❤🤙
Nice throwback to GT Sport, good times!
Not a PS5 owener so curious if the stutter is due to hardward or the recording? seems like some frame dips on busy corners
Driving the same car as you I never pitted. I started on intermediate and finished in 2nd place.
Good race man, I think pitting one lap later would have been better for your strategy, as you said
Incredible. Get in there Lewis!
I really love these videos, its so relaxing
"14th not very good at all". Steve you gotta be a glass half full kinda guy. You improved your starting position. That's still a win mate.
I enjoyed this round as I LOVE this track. My best finish was a P2 driving for Aston 😁
I’ve always wondered if the dry line is hard coded or if it’s dynamic and reflects where the cars are actually driving.
I actually really liked this race. I did all 3 because it was so much fun.
Tokyo R246 was always my favorite track, too bad it's not in GT7.
To me it seemed it had just about every type of track element - long straight, big oval- like turns, hard corner after the long straight, lots of sweeping back and forth turns, etc.
Great track, my favorite place to test all of my car tunes.
Super challenging track conditions
I used IM the whole race, no problems.
I only had time to do two races and both were absolutely disastrous. People just don't know how to approach the hairpin. And then they get 4 seconds only as penalty.
It’s always bloody raining in Tokyo 😂
Idk what the BOP is for this race but I used The Celica GT-Four on this track and finally beat it Gold in the old Championship Race.
Has anyone else has this problem with Gran turismo 7, So if you have corner cutting penalties enabled and on some tracks when you have the AUTODRIVE coming out of the Pits the Autodrive will drive over the line and give you a 3 second penalty for cutting the line or some pits it stops ur auto drives but gives you 0.1 millisecond to correct else you've also gone over the line
it’d b cool if gran 7 have more city or town street tracks
So if I understand it right, you're saying it's a battle to survive? 😂
Great video and nice to see Tokyo back. Always enjoy that (all the layouts)
Fan from south Africa keep up the good work
Does the dry line form where people are actually driving, or is it pre-baked into the track itself?
It's not a Super GT video without a cameo from GOTMAXPOWER
A classic. Hopefully we shall see the return of R246 (coupled with an incredibly unbalanced enduro)
one of my favorite UA-camrs, big fan. If there’s a patreon or merch let us know!
Shoukd've named the video "Tokyo Expressway: Drive to survive".
I gave up on PlayStation a long time ago. You know what could bring me back Seattle circuit.
Consistent super gt uploads? Blessed is our lord Barry R
Believe it or not I saw a guy here on YT run "the wet line" without pitting for a weekly race. Not sure if it works when you play at your level.
At home sick watching Super GT. Can't bring myself to play gt7 atm. If I can play ps I can go to work. 🤷
A new video as I get home and getting food prepared
This was quite entertaining to watch
I was missing these so much
good driving, Steve.
i just did this it was pretty intense but fun
You gotta catch the change over
Super gt I have a question. How do you get the Ayrton Senna car in gt7?
I was killed on the first lap in the last turn... presssss F!

I've never owned a PS4/5, but I will still happily get one just specifically for GT Sport....
