She always used her platforms to showcase and push up other black models. There are numerous times both Tyra and Naomi have recounted the impact Webb had on their careers. I got my chance to meet Veronica Webb over 25 years ago. She was a polite and lovely lady. I was 20 years old and worked at the Reebok Sports Club....now the Equinox in NYC. Many celebs would go because one of the major studios was across the street from the gym. Anyway, I was pregnant with my eldest son and she came to me to ask me for help and then she started to talk to me and wished me the best for my pregnancy and my move with my husband to California.
When I saw the name Veronica Webb the first thing I thought about was my days in New York. I saw her around town a few times and she always appeared pleasant and really pretty with hardly any makeup on. Just seemed like a down-to-earth city girl who would just happen to grace the covers of Vogue and the runways of NYC and Paris.

Thank you for this breakdown of Veronica Webb! Love her! And the photos you pulled are absolutely going on my wardrobe moodboard cause hunny these looks are everything! 👌🏽🤍✨️
Veronica Webb was the first model that I saw on a top fashion magazine that I could relate to, as a mixed girl. I was obsessed. I think she is perfection in looks, style, demeanor and she represents herself with intelligence. ❤
Yes and her marriage and relationship to Rick Ocasek from the music group The Cras. I guess her husband recently passed away and left her nothing because she was seeing someone else. She should of waited 'till he passed before she started a relationship with someone else. Jmo and what I heard. Hence why you should do a video. Thanks. I remember Veronica, she's pretty and has a good body.
She’s absolutely beautiful! Any model/celebrity that is able to achieve that level of fame and success and still keep themselves out of drugs and trouble, or at least, turn their lives around and get back on their feet, deserves an award! 🙌
She does have more of a girl next door look to her, but she has something that drew the modelling industry to want to work with her. I think you are right, the reason she doesn't stand out is because of how wholesome she appears.
She’s always been beautiful and classic, right up there with Naomi! She’s a 90’s icon. I’ve never understood downplaying someone because they are a lighter toned. She didn’t choose her complexion or how others choose to respond to it for whatever reason. All she can do is be the best person she can be, period.
I’ve always liked Veronica Webb. She was different from Naomi or Tyra. I liked her personality and values and her looks were so varied and inspiring. I grew up in the 70s and 80s and 90s so through my teens to 30s she was always a fashion icon for me, even though I’m a petite small boned gal it didn’t matter as she was inspiring for me.
Veronica was , and still is that girl… I luv Mary, but Mary J was a hot mess for a minute back in the day “she spoke on it herself”,, whatever happened with that interview is long over move on. It’s good to hear Sis is still doing her thing, has grown kids , married , and hopefully happy . She deserves her 🌸 💐 🌸 🌺 .. 🔥🔥🔥

Thank you for the video on Ms. Webb. Ive always admired her beauty, grace and style. She was one of the 1st AA super models and "it" girls in the 80s & 90s. ❤
My favorite model (and actress) in the 80s was Isabella Rosselini. She has an exquisite face (like her famous mother, Ingrid Bergman) and has had an interesting life and career. I would love you to do a video about her.
Hellooo! I had to get in these comments and talk about my love and support for Ms. Veronica Webb! I'm in my late 40s and I was a fashion and model follower in the late 80s and 90s and of course Veronica Webb was THAT GIRL for me! I had all the major fashion magazine subscriptions of the day and clamored for any that I didn't have that featured Veronica! Not everyone's fave was Naomi back then. I had a picture of Veronica on my desk at work to remind me to workout before bed, OK 😂 She had style, she had grace and Veronica Webb gave good face. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I think your comments were spot on! If you live your life privately, people want to speculate, start rumors and innuendo about you. Currently, the general public wants to revere those who choose to live their life in the public eye. Veronica Webb earned and deserves her props for being a black super model and a trail blazer.

She is a classy lady. Not much drama. Unfortunately many folks think women of color always have to act "stank". And if you don't, you're uppity. I have had people tell me they saw Mary J back in the day performing at a club and they said she was out of it and couldn't sing worth a dern. I was heartbroken. People actual think she's boring??!! She's gorgeous! She looks better than most of the models today, but the 90's models usually looked beautiful and glamorous.. today's models are boring.
They were naturally beautiful back then. Today the girls have fillers and surgeries.
That's why the 90's models are still going strong, from Heidi Klum to Amber Valletta!!
Nothing Distinctive about today's models.
Veronica Webb was so nice to me at a fashion show we walked the runway for in Tokyo for Fashion Week in the early 90s. I'll always remember her kindness. TY Veronica, if you read this lol.
She is definitely someone worth knowing more about. Thank you! ❤
Veronica Webb is one of the 80's iconic fashion model, she was everywhere! (Magazines, Advertisements, Fashion shows, Cosmetics, video clips...)
She was a 90s icon
She's always been my favorite, since day 1! Her interview with Prince was really amusing, will always cherish it! Thanks for giving Veronica her flowers, she deserves it!💜🌺🌹🌸
MARY J. BLIGE…PLEASE do a video on her…That lady’s been through a lot of battles and is STILL in life WINNING.
I used to love seeing Veronica Webb - I’m glad you did a video on her.
I have to confess I totally never think of her, Naomi Sims and Beverly Johnson are who I think of as early American black models. Your photo montage was great, she was very photogenic. Flowers very well deserved.
I don't know who Naomi Sims is, but I've always thought Beverly Johnson is beautiful!
Thank you for this breakdown of Veronica Webb! Love her! And the photos you pulled are absolutely going on my wardrobe moodboard cause hunny these looks are everything! 👌🏽🤍✨️
Thank you for doing this !! we went to high school to gather and shes always been timeless & fierce ♥️🌺💥
together
Veronica Webb was the first model that I saw on a top fashion magazine that I could relate to, as a mixed girl. I was obsessed. I think she is perfection in looks, style, demeanor and she represents herself with intelligence. ❤
I love her sophistication. Thank you for the content. I really like the music this time also. 🔥
She has always been so stunningly beautiful to me. Thank you for doing this video.
You can tell Veronica Webb has class. Natural beauty. Also, Paulina Porizkova would be a good one to make a video on. 🙂
Sorry, The Cars.
@Saintm-lk5iu they said he left her for a younger woman !
@@mariastewart9820 oh, ok because I don't know the whole story for sure.
Her story is so sad
I remember veronica webb she's definitely one of the models of the 90,s god I miss that decade
Wow, I had forgotten all about Veronica Webb.
ME TOO!!
Me too.
Same here
I ALWAYS loved the catchy Revlon commercial that featured this lovely lady! "C'mon move this!"😂❤🔥
She’s absolutely beautiful!
She pure jealousy that’s all. Most of those women they try to downplay know damn well that ain’t how they really feel.
Girl you hit it out of the park again. Your videos and bios are so on point.🔥
She was literally EVERYWHERE! You couldn’t look up and not see her, but yes she didn’t have any drama.
She is beautiful. It’s said that jealousy does exist. People just don’t know how to be happy for the next person.
I love your channel! You do really great and fascinating deep dives into famous (and sometimes infamous) women that span all eras!! ❤❤
Thank you for bringing Veronica back to my memory. Finally recall all her influence on my high school years
Me too
Wow I forgot about Veronica Webb and I from Detroit. She was Beautiful right up there with Beverly Johnson and Jayne Kennedy. A true pioneer.
🔥Veronica Webb was the first model I remember. When I saw Halle Berry on Living Dolls Started modeling, I always thought she reminded me of Veronica
I forgot about her! Thank you for making this video...she is absolutely STUNNING!❤🔥🔥
She’s very beautiful for sure!!! Idc about the pettiness that happened against her! God Bless her… 💐💐💐
She was so gorgeous! I saw nothing basic about her. Some people look to hate. She lived a better lifestyle and that made her stand out❤
Here's a list of some of my favorite models from the 80s-90s era, that I would love for you to do a video on. Brenda Schad, Naomi Sims, Alek Wek, Lorraine Pascale, Debra Shaw, Kiara Kabukuru
Brandi Quinones, Nadege de Bospertus, Gumit Kaur.
brandi quinones defff needs a video. very interesting woman
I'd like to add Wanakee Pugh to the list.
Pat Cleveland and Alva C.
YAS Alek Wek!
Wow, thanks for this video Karine, it’s so true that those not involved in scandals or with celebrities don’t always get the flowers they deserve. And this is why I love your channel, you shine a bright light on so many others.🎉❤
I followed her a few years ago when I was in aesthetician school because I thought her skin was absolutely gorgeous. I never knew who she was. ❤
She was pure 🔥 and also kept her dignity intact. As it has been said here many times, the haters are gonna hate. Jealousy is UGLY.
🔥Hahahha no, you are definitely not trippin! She is gorgeous and has achieved so much in her life. She was a top model.
This background music is soooooo nice, I love it, it is worth purchasing/downloading!! You always have great background music for your videos too. Congrats to your brother and I will be checking out more of your music too. Great story too!
Yup, this was my day! Never heard anything bad about her. She sounds like a real classy lady!
One of the few outcomes with good parent and a good head on her shoulders. definitely deserves her flowers❤🔥
She is stunning, with a classic beauty and a Super model, just like the others in her era. Don’t know why there wasn’t much written about her..
Thanks for covering this gorgeous supermodel. She was one of my favorites. 🔥
I believe Veronica herself stated she took a break from full out modeling and when she came back the Supermodel craze was in full swing..that small break may be the reason she is not mentioned as much...I adore her.
Huge girl crush on Isabella!
Dear Karine, You are such a compassionate and empathic soul! Thank you for your level-headed commentary. Much Love!
Great video!!! Brings back memories of "coming into my own" back in the 90's and definitely being inspired by Naomi, Veronica and Tyra 😊 I'd love to see a video on lesser celebated yet never to be forgotten models like Claudia Mason, Beverly Peele, and Patricia Velasquez!
Definitely Beverly Peele!
I think your comments were spot on! If you live your life privately, people want to speculate, start rumors and innuendo about you. Currently, the general public wants to revere those who choose to live their life in the public eye. Veronica Webb earned and deserves her props for being a black super model and a trail blazer.
Your brother's music is awesome... Veronica owned the catwalk as well... I would love to own a few of those fabulous pieces she wore back in the day...❤
I know her family and met her once she’s a real nice lady! she’s from the D (Detroit)
Dang yang yang!!! Love your brother’s music! Smooth & Classy! 💐 Veronica 🔥
Veronica was absolutely beautiful! And I haven’t seen her recently, but no doubt with her clean lifestyle, I know she still looks good at around 58. People are tripping as usual, because she was a stunning model!!❤
Not only is VW beautiful, she is intelligent, well rounded and truthful. Some folks don’t like a combination of positive traits like that, at all. I just love her❤
As a darker skin lady, I have observed that sometimes there can be adverse interactions between lighter skin celebrities. I always thought it was just darker skin women but I realized we both do and it needs to stop.
🌺💗
Light women can catch hell too!We all do.
@@michaelwilliams7822 Yeah I noticed with current stars and old ones that some individuals make fun of or give them heat if something bad happens in there relationship or career.
Great job Karine! 👏🏽Veronica Webb is a 🐐👑. Seems like a lot of people were intimidated by her beauty and intellect.
Thank you for this video. I remember seeing her face when I was younger, but I never knew Veronica Webb was such a Superstar.
One word. Exquisite.❤
The knowledge I get from this channel is amazing! Had no idea of her skin condition. Then her achievements are even more profound💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Beauty! Inside and out! Now she's who I wish my grandbaby girls were exposed to and took inspiration from. Beautiful.
Well done.... She was the shhhh... No confirmation needed
I know her personally she is a beautiful person inside and out❤
She is a supermodel!!! I love all of her pictures. Mary is a multi- talented artist in her own right. I love her music! Your brother's music is refreshing, love it!
You’re always kind and fair🔥
She is a classy lady. Not much drama. Unfortunately many folks think women of color always have to act "stank". And if you don't, you're uppity. I have had people tell me they saw Mary J back in the day performing at a club and they said she was out of it and couldn't sing worth a dern. I was heartbroken. I was praying Mary J wasn't going the same route as my homegirl Whitney. But she pulled through and has managed to stay on top. Kudos to both ladies!
🌺
I sat at a table across from her at this nyc restaurant in the village. It was a small restaurant that was like in a basement type. All the models go there.
I bet that was so cool.🫶🏻
You are. Truthful, she is outstanding, thanks for addressing this topic
I always liked her face, it seems so friendly, open and smart.
Thanks again Karine!! I am such a huge fan of Veronica. Gorgeous, smart, and on the ball. What a wonderful woman!🔥
This woman is fierce, I’ve always been a big fan
I had forgotten all about Veronica Webb. Thanks so much for reintroducing her to us. Are there any recent pics of her anywhere? I LOVE that she looks confident in EVERY ONE of her photos.🔥🔥
