Hey! Can’t say I’m too familiar with the Alfa platform, but the CLAs are relatively reliable, I’ve only ever had minor problems that are usually easy to fix yourself. It’s usually infotainment that goes bad for me, everything else performs well.
I did just muffler too, but wasn’t enough, so I went back the next day and took the res off too, sounds crazy now. Drone is barely apparent on highway speeds
@@jaswinjabbal I have the same config in a c250 (i believe is the same m271 engine) and drone is barely noticeable, if u close up all windows it practically dissappears, since the car has really good sound insulation
After the straight pipe (assuming decatted) did you encounter a check engine light. I did a high flow armytrx catted Downpipe and got a stage -2 tune. Couple months later got a check engine light an O2 Sensor Delay (P013E). Curious if you have any suggestion. Also another question I wanted to do the muffler delete as well, you know if it had any sensor wires that could cause another check engine light?
It’s called the exhaust it basically the metal pipes underneath the car and that’s where the sounds travels through and to make the car louder the remove the mufflers resonator and the cats.
Yeah don’t listen to that guy the exauhst as you probably know is where burnt fuel exits the car and of course it’s where most of the sound comes from exhaust have a catalytic converter, sometimes resonator and a muffler these are parts of the pipes where either sound and vibrations are muffled or in the case of the cat (short for catalytic converter) it filters the fumes so you’re not pumping out as much toxic fumes what the guy in this video has done is taken his car to a garage where they cut of the muffler and resonator and welded in just a regular pipe where they used to be doing this makes the exhaust louder however do not ever get the cat cut out aswell it’s very illegal pretty much everywhere and it’s a lot more expensive than a muffler and a resonator if you ever get caught and have to put it back in of course in some places taking out the muffler and resonator can be illegal as well but it’s not as bad as taking out the cat however there are other more legal ways to make your exhaust louder but they’re usually more expensive the main thing being buying an actual exhaust system this pretty much requires you to take off all the exhaust that comes after the cat and replace it with an aftermarket exhaust system otherwise you can also just get exhaust tips where you remove the tip of your exhaust and replace it but this won’t be as loud as a full exhaust kit or a straight pipe which is what it’s called when you take out your resonator and muffler

I still have my factory cats, I had only done a muffler and res delete, which have never thrown any codes

Did you delete muffler and res at same time or at different times? Curious if you noticed a much bigger diff with muff & res vs just muff delete

Took it to a local shop, got overcharged. Job is definitely doable yourself with the right tools.
