Also I have a question, I managed to snag me my all time favorite car for an atv that didn’t even run that I purchased for 50$ lol 1984 318i 5speed coupe (unfortunately it didn’t come with the pop-out rear windows) The issue was his grandparents left it in a field (only 126,000 miles btw) and he managed to get it running and drove it like a jackass through fields and smashed the rear end straight down the middle. After that, the transmission got stuck in reverse, and he half ass tried to fix it but had no idea what he was doing. Cut the exhaust, etc. That’s when I got it, so I rebuilt the linkage and flushed the transmission fluid and looked for metal and it was pretty shiny and jet black fluid. But still nothing changed. I have the engine and transmission removed currently and I don’t have money to send it to a shop but I also don’t wanna start taking it apart without knowing what to look for first. I’m more knowledgeable with motorcycles but I’ve had 3 different 1984 318i so I’m not new to them and I was able to fix my first one when it was stubborn shifting due to worn linkage bushings. But they all seemed to have little tiny differences from each other even though they were same model and year but they have been significant differences that keeps throwing me off and it’s hard to keep track, but i feel im well on my way to becoming a specialist mechanic for only 1984 318i’s 😓😂 thank you for taking time to make these videos as well!

I’m currently building an e36 coupe. Bought it for $300. Had a blown head gasket. Originally a 323is automatic. Found a 328i with a manual transmission as a parts car for $200. It’s about to be on the road soon. Check out my channel and let me know what u think of it.
Hi Peter, I have a BMW 3 Series e90 manual diesel, maybe you can help me to my problem, every time I shift my gear to 1st gear it will back to neutral that's why I'm always delayed when the green light turn on. Is this a big problem?. Thank you.

is it all bmw manual model (including F20) using mechanical linkage?? I heard somebody said E90 use cable linkage in the shifting rod, is it true?

Gear engaged but the car is not moving, what is the problem?
Clutch is bad
Have the oil in the transmission checked first. I had am oil leak on the tranny and caused that as well after the tranny gears started to fail.
Once they put the transmission fluid,, and the car started to work again. Except it seems 5th and 6th gear, no longer engaging.

HI, your gear 1 is worn out. You should replace the gear.
